Don't shop here!

by Lenny4906 on 06/02/2017

This place was awful. Over the phone they would say one thing, in person it was another thing(same sales person, same day) We spent a good four hours trying to make a deal. They offered one, we decided to leave. After a few minutes in the parking lot talking it over, we decided okay we will go with their offer. We went back inside and they said since we left...they would not honor that offer from 10 minutes prior and tried to jack up the price a few hundred dollors. They tried to play games all evening. I will leave reviews everywhere, for a fair warning to future buyers.

Horrible experience: bait and switch attempted

by bill467 on 03/03/2014

After working with various internet sales managers, we selected Gillman Nissan of Rosenberg, TX to make our purchase of a 2014 Rouge about two weeks ago. Their price was good, and their intent saleswoman, Raegen, was responsive. Upon arriving at the dealership, a salesman, Nathan, was assigned to lead us through our purchase. As a first step, the salesman insisted that we do a test drive in the actual car that we were going to drive home. Having completed a test drive already, I was reluctant, but my wife insisted that we complete another drive. The salesman and I entered the car, and he proceeded to explain various features on the vehicle. After driving for a few minutes, we returned and I asked the salesman to clean the car while we completed the paperwork. After completing the financing paperwork, we met our salesman again, who assured us that he had cleaned the car and parked it outside with a full tank of gas. He explained that he had checked everything on the car and that we were good to go. The dealership supposedly did not owe us any additional add-ons or accessories. We signed the final checkout form and went outside to what we thought was the same vehicle I drove earlier. As my wife sat in the driver's seat and the salesman explained more details about the car to her, I went to take my son to the car in which we had arrived. It was then that I noticed the same car that I drove earlier. My suspicions were raised immediately, and I couldn't believe that the saleman would have so blatantly lied to us. I was confused as to why he would be trying to give us a different vehicle than the one I drove earlier. Moreover, I really doubted myself because I didn't remember any specific detail about the car I drove other than how badly I parked it. I began to walk back and forth between the two cars to compare them, and while the trim was the same, I eventually noticed that several of the dealer add-ons that we had paid for were not on the car that my wife was sitting in. I couldn't believe that we were about to be victims of a bait and switch. I was in utter disbelief. I asked to see the salesman's manager immediately. As it turns out, of the $721 worth of add-ons that we had paid for, only the $47 wheel locks were on the car that we were about to drive home. The GM, Lloyd, fumbled through various excuses before eventually accusing the salesman of wrongdoing. Had I not seen the salesman go into the GM's office for every single decision that had to be made, I might have believed him. Even though the dealership did provide the add-ons after I complained, I would highly encourage anyone to avoid buying a vehicle at Gillman Nissan of Rosenberg. Our purchase there was a terrible experience, and I would not trust anything that they tell you.

Deceptive Business Practices

by BuyerNoMore on 11/01/2013

Was assured of a price via email. Upon making the 70 mile drive over to Rosenberg, I was met by their Financing Guy who flat out told me "That deal's just not going to happen". I was going to pay cash, and never even asked about financing!

Love my Nissan Maxima 3.5 SV!

by DNP222 on 03/17/2013

I was in the market for a 2013 Nissan Maxima 3.5 S model, but soon found myself steering towards the 2012 Nissan Maxima 3.5 SV model. I found that it had more of the options I wanted to have in my next car. I found several dealerships who carried this model, but only a few that carried it in the color I wanted, Gillman Nissan of Rosenberg, TX was one of them. I have been exchanging emails with one of the sales associates/managers and made an appointment on a Friday evening to see the car. This location was about 30 miles from my office. The dealership was smaller than other Nissan dealerships, but they seemed to have an extensive lot of new inventory/2013 models. I took the specific car I was interested in for a test drive. The sales associate was very accommodating, courteous, professional and was very patient with me as I threw a ton of questions at her about the car. I met another sales manager who helped answer several more questions I had comparing it to other trim models and other cars from other competitor dealerships I was interested in. The dealership and I were able to settle on a price that was a fantastic deal! Based on my credit score/history, the dealership was able to beat my pre-approved bank loan APR so I decided to finance through them. The paperwork process was a breeze as the finance director spelled out all the details clearly. The entire car buying process was a very positive experience and this dealership exceeded my expectations. Despite being 30 miles from my office and about 40 miles from my home, I plan on bringing my car back for any maintenance, scheduled services or other repairs needed to my car. I would recommend this dealership to anyone looking to find a great deal on a Nissan.

Great Buying Experience

by sugarlandtx1 on 04/09/2010

I just purchased a new 2010 Altima equipped the way I wanted from Moses Cortez, and the whole buying experience was GREAT. The sales manager (Hilton) knew we did not want to wait, so they made a great offer knowing we had a firm offer from another Nissan Dealer. This was my 5th car purchased from Gillman (4 Hondas, 1 Nissan) and all were great experiences. It took less than one hour to test drive the car, negotiate a price, and sign the papers. I know some of the other reviews were not good, but it may be the salesperson. Moses understood what we wanted, he did not hassle us, and let us move at our pace. ALso, my hat is off to Hilton, the sales manager. He was fantastic and made us feel at home.

WILL NEVER DO BUSINESS WITH AGAIN - DECEITFUL

by jlt1 on 02/09/2009

My husband and I bought a Nissan Altima from Jerome Hulett @ Gillman Nissan in Rosenberg in April 2008 and would recommend to anyone planning to purchase a vehicle to take your business somewhere other than Gillman. We traded in a truck when we got the Altima and were told that they would take care of turning in the truck to Ford (leased vehicle). We got every reassurance that it would be taken care of and left the keys with Jerome. 4 months later, we received a call from Ford because the truck was never turned in! It sat on their lot for 4 months and nothing was ever done about it. Hindsight being what it is, we should have never trusted them to turn it in for us. After repeated calls to the Gillman dealership and getting the complete run around (including a sales manager saying that they would never agree to that because they don't turn vehicles in like that - but why in the world would we have left the keys with Jerome and cleaned out the truck?), the vehicle was finally taken to Ford. It was an absolutely unprofessional, awful experience and I will never buy another vehicle from this dealership.

Pricing not current to available on the market

by mitchshepherd on 10/24/2008

Aggressive salesmen and piss poor pricing relative to whats available at other dealerships. Salesman + manager allowed us to walk out of the dealership when the BEST OTD price quoted on the car (had 1100 miles on it!) was 1.5K higher than the competing dealer. We presented an opportunity for them to earn or business and were dissapointed at the tactics employed. These days, everybody walks in with a copy of numbers printed out from Edmunds, they ought to know that.

Internet Sales Manager

by mpg3 on 07/03/2008

The final price was 633 more than the lowest quote I had received from another dealership. I did an internet inquiry and began interacting with the sales folks. Eventually, I ended up on the phone with Mr. Ross. He seemed very personable and willing to accomodate, but only to that price. A positive experience in which I gained the information requested.

THE WORST BUYING EXPERIENCE EVER

by nathanttn on 06/19/2008

I just bought a Nissan Altima Coupe 2.5 s today from your Nissan dealer in Rosenburg, TX. It's the most horrible experience I've ever had. This is the 3rd time I've purchase my car from Gillman, the first two cars was honda civic which were great experiences but this time Gillman is a HUGE disappointment. I wanted to let you know that your company have employed ones of the many worst people in the automobile industry. When we first came to the dealer the sale guy, Larry Robinson, took us to see the car in the lot. We get to see the outside of the car and the package that was installed into the car by Nissan, but since he didn't have access to the keys so we were not able to see the inside of the car nor know what the odometer have. Larry reassured us a few times that there is only 14 miles on the car. So we took his words for it and go through all the paper work and to the finance room. The interest offered in the finance was 9.24% which I thought was quite high so I said I'll check with my bank first if they can't beat that rate I'll come back the next day and go with it. The next day I came back (today June 18, 2008) it's another finance guy, Bill, who was EXTREMELY RUDE with a very DISCRIMINATORY TONE. He jack the rate up to 16%. I didn't agreed to it, so we negotiated down to 10% since the car is ready with the window tint and everything I requested, I went ahead I took the 10% without hesitations to ask for the 9.24% that I was offered less than 24 hours ago, which should be a big favor for your company. Yet, when I got to go inside the car and take a look, the odometer reading was 241 miles. The car was actually a dealer trade that drove all the way to Rosenburg from San Marcos. The sales manager, David Ross, who claimed to be the highest guy in Gillman Nissan offer me 6 times oil change for free which value does not come up any where near to the depreciation value of the car once it's down in the street for 241 miles but I took the offer since I don't want to go through more hassles negotiating for another car. But while I was in finance, they had to go back and change the 6 times free oil change to 4. I went into David Ross' office and asked him about the changes and made it clear that I won't take this car if the dealer could be this dishonest to a customer. And his exact words were "You are like an empty hole, you're asking for too many free stuffs from me when I come here to buy a car. It's you who's suppose to pay us, not us that giving you free stuffs." After all the nasty tones exchanged and his big man's lectures, he changed it back to 6 free oil change. But he doesn't seem to get it through his head that I'm a customer, I PAID for the car with all the options that came with at the price that I felt is fair for both sides. IT'S NOT A FREE CAR, GILLMAN DID NOT GIVE ME ANYTHING FREE. Even the window tint which I was offered free at Sterling McCall, I paid $180 for it at Gillman. And the oil change is a COMPENSATION because the car reading WAS NOT AT 14 MILES like I was told.
