Beware
by 07/21/2022
onBeware of this dealership! We wanted a 3 year 36,000 lease at least that's what we thought we were getting. Both the finance and salesperson confirmed this. After reviewing the paperwork the lease was for 10,000 a year! Also they owe us $376 for a difference in the trade in. Beware!!!!!

Two Hours for Oil Change/Tire Rotation
by 06/05/2019
onTwo hours waiting for an oil change and tire rotation with an appointment is unacceptable. I could see that as a walk-in, but not with an appointment.

Stay away from this dealership

onThey quoted me a price on day one . They upped the price when I reached the dealership and on day two they upped the price again and said they made a mistake with the calculation. Do not waste your time and money here.

Tricky Dealer
by 05/23/2015
onI bought a Mazda CX-5 from El Dorado. I didn't like amount of money they offered for my trade in, so they upped the trade in value 2 grand, and then turned around and added it at the end of the contract, and did not tell me. They didn't give me anything they just moved the numbers around. I didn't discover it until about 5 months after I bought the car and had moved 6 hours south. Not trustworthy.

Worst dealership experience ever.
by 05/02/2015
onIf I could give zero stars, I would. Do not under any circumstances shop at this dealership. We test drove several models and decided on a CX-5, but the specific trim and color we wanted wasn't in stock. Before we left the dealership the salesman offered an overnight demo of the vehicle, which sounded great. However, when we called to take him up on the offer, the story changed. We were told we had to agree to purchase terms before we could take the demo. In all my years of vehicle buying, I've never encountered that demand for a longer test drive. I knew then we were dealing with a less-than-awesome sales manager, but the salesman was nice so we told him to get the car we wanted, and that we'd be in the next day to buy it. He said that was no problem, but that he had the same car but with more options that he'd sell us for the same price. We declined because we knew it would still cost more than the model we actually wanted after the deal was made. The next day, we arrived at the dealership to buy the correct vehicle and were told they hadn't gotten it after all, again because we hadn't agreed to purchase terms. When the salesperson called us *the same morning* he made no mention that locating the car would require us to agree to purchase terms. But, he said, he still had that higher-spec model and he could make us a great deal. I found it odd they were trying so hard to push us into that upgraded model. More on that in a minute. Here is a summarized set of things they actually said to me: "Well, we didn't get the car we told you yesterday we'd get because you haven't agreed to purchase terms yet." "But we have one with more options we'll sell you for the same money. It's a great deal! Oh, and, um...it's hail damaged." As I storm out of the building... "Why are you being rude and leaving like that? We'll repair the hail damage..." As we (furiously) walked to our car for a fast escape away from [non-permissible content removed], we passed the "great deal but hail-damaged" vehicle. It was beat all to hell. Nearly every panel had golf-ball sized dents, some of which were in spots that would have required panels to be replaced. That was the vehicle they were doing everything they could to talk us into purchasing. Stay away from this god-awful dealership. They give all honest car salesmen a bad name. Please save yourself and anyone you know from being subjected to the worst customer service in North Texas.

Love my new car and I got a great deal
by 05/06/2014
onIn the last 6 years, I have bought 4 new cars. Each time the salesman tells me to "smile, car buying should be a fun process." Well, that is BS, or IT WAS BS, I should say. My saleswoman and sales manager at El Dorado Mazda actually allowed it to be fun. I asked for A LOT, and they were very accommodating. They never scoffed and treated me like an idiot, they were up front, and honest. My wife is ready to start looking to replace her Civic. We've known that it has been coming, we don't like the car and we are paying too much for it. A few months ago, I asked my wife to go drive a Mazda. She blatantly told me I don't want a Mazda. Now that I have mine, she understands the Mazda brand. Mazda has absolutely nailed it in regards to producing cars that are fun to drive instead of numb or what I call a 7 year car. Hyundai's, Kia's, Toyota and even Honda's start experiencing so many problems at around year 7 that you get so fed up, you want to buy another car. Anyway, now, after buying my Mazda 3, she is constantly asking me to drive it. This coming from a woman that hates driving. So, a fully loaded CX-7 or CX-9 is in our future. I wouldn't take our business anywhere else now. I enjoyed the process at El Dorado that much. A few more side notes, and then I'll shut up. While my saleswoman and sales manager were working on one of my requests, I got up and walked back to the service department to ask some basic questions like; How much is an oil change? What, if any, problems have customers been bringing their 2014 Mazda 3's in for? Well, once I arrived in the service department, I saw something that made me very happy. On a Saturday at 3 PM, the service manager was leaned back, hat pulled down over his eyes. A great job if you can get away with it. But it spoke volumes to me. I'm here on a busy Saturday at a busy time and the service department is void of cars. This tells me that they are not breaking!!! Needless to say, once he heard me, he snapped to and answered my questions with the knowledge and skill that I expected. He gave me his card and wrote alternate numbers on it in case I EVER had a problem, big or small. That is amazing. I am an Engineer (EE). I follow Engineering standards and I was not surprised to discover, only 1 week after I bought it that the 2014 Mazda 3 was selected with 2 others as the 2014 best car in the world. Mazda didn't win, and I won't mention the other two, but what I can tell you is that you can't buy one of the other two for the price El Dorado Mazda is selling these things for. I don't know how there are any remaining on the lot. I really don't. Mazda doesn't have an engine department that just does an engine for the next years style and then pushes it on down the line. Same for transmission, air conditioning, steering, etc. Everybody and I mean Everybody else does. Mazda designs the car together, in one process. It is part of the blanket term Skyactive which is revolutionizing the automobile industry. They have the Germans on their heels. Nobody can touch Mazda's Engineering right now. And no dealership can touch El Dorado Mazda for overall satisfaction. Now, I can't stress this to you enough. Close your laptop, put down your tablet and go get one of these cars. They are all designed in the same whole car approach. Nothing is missing. A bone stock Mazda has more tech on it than you would pay $2,000 extra for from any other manufacturer, and you would still wind up with a numb drive everyday.....well, for 7 years anyway. I want to start working there on the weekends. All I have to do is stand there. These cars sell themselves and I think that El Dorado Mazda knows that. That is why I actually had fun on this purchase.

Consistant Relationship

onI bought a C-4 roadster from them in 1986...went over seas, returned to Texas in 1999, Bought a new 2007 Miata from them. My son has bought a Mazdaspeed 3 and Cx-7 from them because of my experience. I just bought a CX-5...these people have a good selection of popular models at a reasonable price. It's worth the drive from Tyler.

Still good after 11 years
by 01/18/2013
onThis is the second vehicle we have purchased from El Dorado Mazda. They have bent over backwards both times to please my wife. We got our expected trade in value for her 11 year old, hail damaged car and we got a better than expected price for her new car. No high pressure sales games from them. I actually found Will our salesman to be very patient, since we went in trying to decide between two different styles of vehicles. The process from the time we agreed on the price until we drove off was very fast this includes a short stop at the finance office. Sales great (Salesman and Manager), Finance good (I hate upsells), but the guy was funny.

Good service!
by 03/22/2011
onIve serviced my car at El Dorado Mazda for about three years and the services are routinely good. The last two visits have both been handled by Harold Peevy and hes been very courteous and professional. Most importantly I was charged what I was quoted.

Would not buy from them again
by 03/18/2011
onMy wife negotiated the car purchase price and called me with the numbers. However their intepretation of "with trade in" was of course to their benefit on the price and not ours so due to my not clarifying this point we got screwed out of about $2000 on the price. They were very friendly and helpfull, but I probably will not buy from them again without some serious bargaining on my part.

Run away!
by 08/17/2009
onThis is the worst dealership I have ever dealt with. We negotiated a price over the phone and then when I went to buy the car the price was much higher. They brought in a "closer" who proceeded to try to bully me into signing the deal by threatening to take it away. He actually told me at one point that if I didn't think it was a good deal that I could just go to another dealership. They were so rude and disrespectful to me that I ended up walking out and doing just that. I left and went to [another dealership] and ended up getting the same deal on a nicer car. Save yourself the headache and avoid them at all cost, especially if you are a female by yourself. I will never go to this dealership again.
