Outstanding Sales and Service

by nocme on 10/07/2010

This will make my 10th vehicle I have purchased at Burns Motors. This time I was looking on line and found their website. I called in, spoke to a young lady that lead me in the right direction with real answers to my questions. She set an appointment for me, I showed up, they apprasied my vehicle right away and I spoke to the manager. He did an outstanding job, giving me all the figures right up front. They took me to the service area and introduced me to the guy that will be able to help me with all my oil changes and any needs I have. I got a great deal, was treated well and would encourage anyone interested in the best truck on the road today "DODGE" to call Burns and let them help you like they did me. Love my truck.

sales and credit dept. mgr.

by amydj on 06/11/2009

I went to Burns Motors 2 months ago. I really needed a vehicle because mind was stolen. I had seen ads on the internet and saw several mini vans that I liked and price range I could afford. I had to have someone drive me to this dealership and meet with the salesperson I was supposed to have spoken to by phone ( I do not live in the Mcallen area the drive took me 45 mins. to get there). I was greeted by a different salesperson not the person I had spoken to because he as too busy with another customer. I test drove a van and decided to have it financed and I figured by filling the application they would take care of things for me. I waited days before they decided to call me and give me results on the van. I was told I needed 4 thousand down and I had to go to the dealership to speak to their finance manager. I explained I didn't have a car and would need a ride which would be a 45 minute drive. I asked if I could have a break down of what the payments would be and for how long. That would help me decide if I could afford the monthly payments. I explained to the sales person I would hate to have someone drive me that distance for just a talk and no direct answers. I was told he couldn't give me any information unless I went and spoke with the credit manager. I asked to speak with him by phone and I was told he was too busy t speak with me (the customer). I figured if this was the way they handled business with their customer would it be worth my time and money to purchase with them if I were to get a vehicle and later be ignored if I needed help with the vehicle. I decided to just save up money and buy cash at a used car lot. I know drive a great 2005 chrysler town and country that drives great and paid only $5600. I wonder by dealerships are just not interested to sell? I suppose they don't need the business. I have seen many others now buying in small car lots if you look you can find a great bargain. I DID!

Best place to buy a car. Period.

I don't understand the previous comments. I have purchased many autos from Burns Motors over the last 20+ years. Pricing is straight forward. Financing is top notch. They sell the vehicles at the prices they advertise them at. Never have I experienced anything but excellence. All my family buys from Burns Motors too.

Watch what you buy, it could be wrecked or damaged and sold to you as new.

by kingrat1 on 04/03/2009

I purchased a 2007 Dodge Durango SLT V-6 Black Matellic, Gray interior, on 02/23/2008 with 3552 miles on it. The sales men were excited to show me the vehicle, after carefully looking it over, and was also wondering why it was traded in, I asked the two sales men, why the vehicle was traded in. They told me that the owner wanted to get a truck, which was logical at the time. Well, my wife and I wanted to test drive it, and when the two salesmen were there, my wife and I also, I started the vehicle and then we all heard a loud bang, and platter from the engine compartment, the salesmen quickly said, it might have been a cat, but inb my mind, it sounded like the Fan hit the Fan Shrowd, so then I asked the salesmen if the the vehicle was wrecked or damaged in some way, and they assured me that it was not wrecked. So, the saleman, my wife and I drove it around and it was good. So we bought it. Well later in Jan 2009 I wanted to trade the Dodge Durango for a new crew cab pickup, and went to them to seeif I could get it traded in, low and behold, they said they could not help me because I had too much over head in it. So there were five salesmen at the time, and they did not want to do anything to help me. A couple of the salesmen said go to Nissan, they can help you get a good deal on your truck, so I did and what do you think happened. The Durango 2007 Dodge that I bought from Burns Motors in McAllen, was wrecked. Even though the Burns Motors Sales Manager showed me the CarFax that suppose to tell you if a car is wrecked or not, did not show the Durango in any type of wreck or damages. THE NISSAN Dealer found that the fenders, seemed to replaced, the right side mid section from drivers door all the way to the back had evidence of bondo, inconsitant paint, over spray, headlights replaced because of new screws, the fender wells were ruff, not smooth, hood wells were ruff not smoothg, so the questions is or was, is the vehicle safety to drive. Have the Airbags been ejected, so is the vehicle reliable to drive for a price tage of $23,307.43. What do you think the integrity of Burns Motors and their sales personnel, and management, to include their paint and body shop. Now, I can not even sale the dang thing. So, watch what you buy, better yet, buy it new, and still make sure it has not been wrecked or damaged in anyway. Better yet, don't go to Burns Motors. Signed KingRat1

BURNS Motors in McAllen will indeed BURN you if you are not careful!!!!

by durand02 on 11/22/2007

I went to this dealer to look at buying a Dodge 3500 truck. I never got straight answers from sales person about price, available incentives/rates. I was asked to sit in an office while he went to speak with "his boss" and Ten minutes later a girl from closing department came out to ask me for my downpayment check. LOL Yes, she came in to the little office I was asked to sit and waste my time in for this clown of a sales person to try to pull a fast one on me. She was asking me for a downpayment on a new truck I had just purchased with out ever receiving a sales price, nor any other for of financial disclosure. I walked out and saw the "sale person" talking to another custumer and I just told him to go fly a kite. I WILL NEVER SET FOOT IN THAT DEALERSHIP AGAIN AND WILL SHARE MY STORY WITH ANYONE WHO IS WILLING TO HEAR IT. McALLEN PEOPLE ARE SMARTER THAN THAT AND SHOULD NEVER BE TREATED LIKE A PUSHOVER OR SOME KIND OF IDIOT. I truly hope BURNS people read this and their faces turn red in shame. As for my business, I went to Houston to get a no-nonsense deal with upfront pricing and financing information.
