Had to go back

by WinterT on 10/28/2012

Had to go back for a second visit after being called by a different sales person. Had everything setup to purchase a car and the first sales person said we were looking for a deal and not wanting to buy, what a [non-permissible content removed]. Second sales person got us the car we wanted and told us the price they had to have and the deal was made. We were ready to purchase another make before the second sales person called.

Want Poor Customer Service? Dale Gas to Bert Ogden...

by speed1632 on 01/11/2012

Went in interested in a Maxima. Had done research online, so knew what discount/invoice price was. Sales mgr., and General Sales mgr., both seemed to be insulted by me having done my homework. Rude, pushy, asked if I 'didn't want them to make money' & were visibly upset when I told them I would take their offer under consideration and not buy that same day. Poor attitude(s) seem to be part of the company culture. What a waste of time; don't know how these people sell so many cars. ---Buyer Beware.

Insulting treatment of prospective customers from sales manager.

by m136 on 08/28/2010

My wife and I went twice to Bert Ogden Nissan in McAllen, TX to buy a Sentra. On our first visit the salesman did a very good job showing us the car, and we were impressed with the vehicle. We returned the next day to learn about the price, incentives, and financing available. At other dealerships this procedure is always pretty much similar by providing our information, and then the price is given with any discounts and incentives, and with financing terms that we qualify for. Well, this is where things went crazy. The sales staff would not provide any numbers unless we would agree to buy right that instant. We asked for the final price with taxes and financing options twice. The General Sales Manager came out to talk with us. He wanted to know why we were being difficult and would not just buy the car. He said that we just wanted to compare prices, as if this is some kind of crime. We were stunned that this kind of insulting aggressive technique was actually being used on us. We left the lot, and as we drove down the street the manager called me on my cell phone to give me his "price", I replied we would think about it. I don't honestly understand how they sell so many vehicles this way, except by praying on the uninformed or naive customer. We have spoken to family and friends about this, and many have indicated similiar treatment. Bottom line is we left with no information at all on the price or finance rates. These guys are to be avoided. Save your time and energy. Beware their predatory practices.

Just got my new Nissan from Mario

by nissanlover3 on 04/09/2010

I have a family of 4 and needed a larger car, so I took my Sentra to Bert Ogden Nissan to trade up to the new Altima. I was promptly greeted by Mario who made me feel very comfortable and really took the time to listen to my needs and was not like a "Big City Dealer" that tries to force you into a vehicle that you do not want. I was offered Kelly Blue Book for my Sentra, without any haggle on the value, the sales negotiations were extremely stress-free and quick. I was able to get the payment close to my target and was driving home in my new Altima within a couple of hours. Thank you Bert Ogden Nissan and especially Mario for the great service and you have a customer for life!

false advertising...pushy salesmen

by topo1 on 02/20/2010

I had been hearing their radio advertising message the they had the Nissan Sentra 2010 for the low price of 10,245 all week and decided to check it out. When I got there a saleman attended me and as I asked about the Sentra special he told me that there were only 2 cars with that special. I asked to look at one and got to try it out. However when I asked the price I was told that both cars had a special package that added another 1,600 to the price and that since I was not a student graduating soon that it woluld be another 500 more too. To make a long story short I was treated badly by the 2nd saleman that was figuring what I would pay. I told them that I would not take the car under the terms that they were giving me and they asked why I was there then. I felt pressured and just got out of there. I would not recomend it there for any one.

Great Deal, No Probs!

by caz3x6 on 08/05/2009

Got a great deal there on a Maxima recently. Wife and I love the car, saved a bunch and didn't have to go out of our way to do it! Sales guy knew what he was doing and what we expected. Took some time, as all good things do, but we got what we wanted. We've recommended to several friends and so far they have been happy and even thanked us for sending them there.

False Advertising!

by coolcity23 on 07/31/2009

Do your research before going to Bert Ogden! Our first salesperson was pushy and rude, said it was company policy not to take the highway when we mentioned the gas light was on and then complained about us having him 'in the heat' and not buying a car. The place is like a three ring circus- no welcome hello, no water offered on a 102 day, and no organization of any sort. Went in to possibly to purchase a Versa the second time back, simply because we didn't want to drive 30 miles yet and we got a great salesperson that said he had only been there 3 weeks and never sold cars before. He was the only positive. We decided to check out the 11,495 Nissan Sentra advertised with A/C and Automatic (I had the paper with me). We were told by a different salesperson/negotiator that the paint sealer was REQUIRED- a $999 option. We pointed out that the sticker stated this was a dealer option and he said ALL vehicles are sold with it. Then the 11495 is ONLY for college grads, even though the ad doesn't say that. We said we are college grads and were told we had to have graduated in the last 6 months. Then the icing was that the sales price was ONLY good for the day it was advertised- it was a Sunday paper and the dealership is closed Sunday! We told him we wanted a cash sale and would walk out if they didn't want our money. After 4 hours of haggling- tired, hungry and thirsty, we left for lunch. As soon as we got home there was a message on the answering machine and that's when we made the deal. If financing, BE CAREFUL, I heard that they will sell you everything under the sun- you go in for a 14K car and come out 22K in debt. Do your research and be assertive!!! I would not recommend this dealership though, it is no wonder they have such high turnover!

BEWARE! BEWARE! BEWARE!

by glosal13 on 07/29/2009

I have never received such HORRIBLE SERVICE. Our first salesman was completely inexperience and admitted that it was only his 3rd day in the job. When it came to talking numbers the financing guy was completely rude and told me I was "crazy" for asking for a better deal. When I told him I had done my homework on the car that I wanted and I knew that vehicle was worth at least $4,000 less than his offering he told me that my homework was bogus and this was based on his experience and demand of vehicle. I you are considering buying a vehicle I recommend you STAY AWAY from this dealership.

not acceptable!

by speck36 on 03/09/2009

Be very wary of the sales tactics used here. Review your contract very carefully and make sure that you do not take anyone's word for anything. No one's word means anything here. The salesman and I had made a deal that was approved by finance department. At final signing, contract was different but I didn't look close enough because I took them at their word. Needless to say, I'm out my money and my trade in. Also check out better business bureau for further information.

Not Pleased!

by notafool on 06/08/2008

We recently went to Bert Ogden Nissan to inquire about a Nissan. The salesman was courteous and nice and showed us the car we were interested in. He was new to the company and had only been there a few days. Upon completion of his spill, he went to check on a price and came back with his manager. This guy was very arrogant and I believe he thought we were ignorant. He refused to give us a price on a vehicle unless we would commit to buying the vehicle that day. We never got a figure out of him. It was unbelieveable! I don't know how they sell cars. I guess if you like intimidation, this is the place to buy, because it seems that is their game. After we abruptly left, he sent the salesman running out to the street as we were driving off, trying to give us a ball park figure. We declined and bought our car elsewhere. I feel sorry for nieve or young people trying to make a purchase. They have no problem taking advantage of people. They are well trained. We will never go back- it was a waste of time and gas.

"Dale Gas"

by durand02 on 01/28/2008

I went to Bert Ogden Nissan with my wife to test drive an Altima. I told the 'sales person' that we were still shopping for a vehivle and that we would be making a desicion by the end of this week. The cars we are looking at are the Altima, the Accord, and the Jetta. The sales person literally asked us to leave the dealership and go test drive the other vehicles then to return when we were ready to buy. LOL Is this how Nissan want to have their customers or potential custemers treated? I don't know the answer to that question but I do know that if I decide to buy an Altime, It will not be from Bert Ogden. But, thank you, for opening my eyes up to your dealership's lack of integrety and willingness to provide good customer service.
