Run for your life.

by Louie_1 on 06/19/2017

This dealership sells cars that are in dangerous conditions knowingly and will not disclose this to the customer at the time of purchase. This is a pattern as seen in other reviews. They put unsuspecting buyers and other people on the road in danger. I bought a 2010 red Nissan Altima coupe on December 1st 2016 and while still at the dealership, salesman Lee pressured me to leave a 5 star rating and even brought it up on his phone for me to do. Salesman Lee swore to me the car was in good shape and should not worry about it and that it has never been wrecked. The next day I began to find a lot of inconsistencies in his stories. The car looked so rugged in the engine with broken and missing parts, I immediately called him and he tried to sweep the issue under carpet as "cosmetic" issues and I shouldn't worry about it. This made me more suspicious of him because this a car I just bought for $12,000 and it looked so horrible. The carpet was peeling off, the radiator was sprayed painted red, the back passenger seat is falling off, inner lights are missing, the engine has been tampered with, the car is painted halfway, support pole is missing, seatbelt is broken from the wall, driver seat is completely damaged and when it rains or I washed my car, water drains from the engine to my feet soaking wet, when I use the AC the whole car is full of water. This is a car I pay $414 a month and $250 on full coverage insurance. I called salesman Lee again and he told me to calm down and that the guy who repairs their car is in Mexico and I will have to wait. I waited February 2017 and called again and he told me to bring it in and drop it off. He gave me a car to use while the car is getting fixed only for me to pick it up and nothing was fixed. The repair man is located to an adjacent building to the dealership which is on the same property. I was angry and whenever I push for my car to be fixed,Lee will become disrespectful and tell me "you are lucky You got the car for a good price and we did you a favor" This made me to do a little more research about this Callahan motors dealership and what I found horrified my soul. Reviews after reviews same pattern. They don't disclose the car is savage or has been wrecked. I found a review that fit so perfectly in my case that I was horrified. They buy wrecked cars at auctions and just come and do rough body work and don't even check on safety issues and then put it on the market waiting on unsuspecting innocent people to prey on. This dealership is a like a lion waiting to ambush its prey. They operate exactly like a Ponzi scheme. First they persuade you, when you become inquisitive, they become disrespectful and begin their dribbling tactics to wear you down. People come in and innocently pour out their life savings thinking they are buying a great car, little do they know they just signed into a complete scam. They claim that you bought the car "AS IS" and should not complain which is totally different from knowingly selling a highly dangerous vehicle with safety issues to a customer to hit the road endangering their lives and that of other motorists. Early May 2017, I took my car for a thorough check up and I found out that it has been wrecked and has serious frame damage unfit for the road. The mechanic told me am very lucky I came in for a check that sooner or later the car would have caused some serious accident because of the severe frame damage. I confronted salesman Lee and he said there's no way for them to know if a car has been wrecked which is false. CARFAX will tell you and they should know since the are into car business. He then looked me in the face, change his story and lied without flinching that he had informed me the car was wrecked which is again is absolutely false. Why would I walk into a car dealership and buy a wrecked car after surviving a car accident a major accident and almost got killed by an 18 wheeler? I had already read reviews online about how they will viciously tried to defend themselves and will fight till a customer gave up on them. They will reply to reviews and say "customer is now happy" which is again not true in most cases. They will get disrespectful when caught up in a lie and will shy away from responsibility and I was not ready to go that road and waste my time. I immediately notified the car loan company and also sent evidence of my emails to Callahan motors since January and and pictures of the car. The car loan company told me to give them time to investigate which I don't have because and I am driving an unsafe car, don't have money for a rental car and am putting other people in danger. I don't want anything to do with Callahan motors in my life. I reported them to save other people's lives and I guarantee if someone walks in to thier lot and run a complete check on most of thier cars, it will fail basic safety tests issues and they know this but yet they sell the cars without notifying customers. We can't wait for someone to die before an action is taking and I will also be reporting them to the BMV. If you unfortunately happen to fall for their scams Don't do the following if Callahan motors ask you to.
