Waste of time

by SG on 09/13/2023

Came in interested in a CPO 2021 Jeep GC i saw on their website. They tried upselling all their dealer plans that I didn't want, even tho i was ok with the connected and protected plan. Luis from finance insisted on including all these extra plans so he didn't honor the price we agreed on & said the car isn't even certified pre owned so I had to get a $4,000 insurance plan .. ??? Such [non-permissible content removed] lol None of this was mentioned to me when we agreed on a price, but yet changed it up last minute. Not CPO? So why is it advertised as CPO? Even on the carfax papers. Just a bunch of BS. total OTD turned out to be 36k (with 60k miles)for a car advertised at 26k. Bffr. please save your time and go elsewhere!

Brand new 2020 Jeep Gladiator

by Biancalalonzo on 01/21/2020

We bought a brand new 2020 Jeep gladiator from Clay Cooley on 11/11. We had it for 10 hours only for it to completely lose power and not start anymore. We had it towed to dealership after having it for 10 hours. The main fuse had blown out of no where. We were never offered a refund or the option to switch to a different car. We got the Jeep back and had no issues until December 28,2019 when the car shut off on us while driving with no warnings. The Jeep had turned off while we were in park, we thought it was the same issue as last time, but it finally regained power. We knew we needed to get it home so we took side streets. We put it in drive and are able to go about 10 feet and then it shuts off with no warning and grinds to a stop. We do this about 4 more times before we are able to get it to a curb safely. Imagine if we had been on the highway, someone would have gotten seriously injured. So once again we have it towed to the dealership for a 2nd time in 2,400 miles. They keep it for a few days and find out the car battery was not grounded and therefore it melted the fuse box. They replaced the entire fuse box and gave it back. We refuse to take it because we could have died, but they give us no other option. They made it impossible for us to get out of this car. We get in the car to find that they never test drove it after the “fixed” it to see if it was really fixed. After a week of having it back (1/13) the check engine light comes on so we drive it to a closer dealership where they keep it. They can’t figure out what’s wrong with it so the Jeep engineer tells them to hook it up to a computer and drive it 50 miles and send them the data. Jeep gets the data and suggests an update to fix the issue. We are finally able to start talking to Clay Cooleys GM Gus McGriff who says he’s going to take care of us and try and get a trade in. We informed him that we already tried that and his dealership made it impossible because they didn’t want the Jeep either. He tells us to call him Monday morning (1/20) and he will get started on it. We call him and he’s like y’all called me a little early so give me some more time and I’ll call you back. We waited the entire day and got nothing from him. We called and texted him to just remind him that he was supposed to be working on something for us. It is now Tuesday morning and we haven’t heard anything. Buying a car through Clay Cooley has been the biggest pain and we do not recommend them at all. We have waisted 2 and a half months on them and have gotten no where. We have had issues with every person at that dealership except for Derek in the service department, he has been great. They have terrible customer service and don’t care about our safety over losing money on this jeep. A brand new car with 2,700 miles should not have been in the shop 3 times already, 2 of them having to be towed back.

Bought 2 new vehicles within 6 months

by Matt on 07/03/2018

Everything was ok until it came to the "We Owe" form as part of the deal. The dealership should honor it and not give the customer, who bought 2 new vehicles within 6 months, the run around. Returning a phone call and/or an email for starters would help. Now it will be hard for me to recommend this dealership.

Yes we have the car!!!!!

by Victim on 05/17/2018

My wife and I were looking for a particular type of car so like a lot of other people we went online. We found a great looking car on Auto Trader for a great price. I called the dealership to check avalibility the first lady I talked to was Brooke. She said yes the car is here I said great we will make plans to drive up (from Waco 90+ miles south) this afternoon. A few minutes later I get a call that that particular car was sold the previous Saturday. Disappointed but not upset we continued our search for a car. Two days later my wife sees the same car listed still on auto trader but with a updated picture so she called. A lady named Brittany Howard answers the phone looks up the car and said yes its still hear! My wife calls excited and tells me the news and I told her to call back and verify vin and stock number to be sure. She did and Miss Howard assured her it was. I trust my wife but thought I would call and ask myself. I called and got the same Brittany Howard asked if the vehicle was there. She asked for the vin I read it off to her which she replies yes it is still here. All these phone calls took place between 1 pm and 2:30 pm . We set up an appointment to test drive at 6pm(we are two hours away). On the way there we are texting Brittany Howard giving updates on time and banking information. We arrive at 5;50pm. We wait in the lobby for Brittany. Another salesman comes and takes us to his cubical office then leaves to go find Brittany. He returns without Brittany and said she is another sales mans assistant and he is with another customer. Oh and the car you just drove two hours to see just sold 25 minuets ago....... but let me see what I have comparable to that one. My wife became very upset at this point jumped up out of the chair and said they were a bunch of [non-permissible content removed] and that we drove two hours to get there for nothing. This rattled the sales man and he tried to explain what happened but in doing so he confessed they were [non-permissible content removed] by telling us the car sold that morning!!! So witch is it 25 minuets ago or this morning? They used this car as a bait car to get you in the door to try and sell you something anything!!! They care more about where there turds go after they flush than the do about caring for potential customers. We will obviously not going back and we are telling our experience to help out other potential victims of what should be considered a scam.

Dissapointed

by Chandler on 02/20/2018

The sales staff were friendly but I feel like we were mislead. We called to confirm that a specific vehicle was available and let them know we were coming. We were told they would have it out front ready for us. We drove 1.5 hours one way with the intention to buy the car. (With our 4 young children!) only to be told it has been sold right before we arrived.... I felt like it was a "bait and switch" move. We did our research and wanted that specific vehicle. After a wasted, frustrating 4 hours... We will not be using Clay Cooley for any future purchases.

Beware

by Disssappointed on 07/26/2016

Time wasted was 4 hours for a brake and rotor service. No communication unless you chased someone down. They have non service techs/runners test drive cars after service. Why would you have an inexperienced person test drive anything? Will not ever return or refer this location ever. Appointment time was 8am left 12noon

Don't buy from here!!

by Karlamunoz19 on 09/17/2015

This was my first big vehicle purchase. The only reason i went through with it was because I got the exact car I wanted relentless of the obvious stress everyone tried to put forth to try and convince me to get something off their lot. When I reinforced my preference for the vehicle, they mentioned they'd lose money ($1500) to get it. My car is $35,000 car..... after a huuuge miscommunication of trying to get the vehicle in state, having me call and try to understand what was going on daily, only to tell me that the car would "be ready the next day". Not only did they seemed confused and disorganized, but also quite discriminating. I mentioned this to the manager, which I admit, was little to somewhat accomodating. Any dealer or person was addressing my brother (my cosigner) for any details. They asked him for HIS references. Anytime we'd walk in, they'd walk up to HIM, talk about MY car and primarily conversed with him until I said something. On top of the huge headache of getting the car here and all the little details I have yet to mention, the lady earlier today asked me from 1-10 what my experience was there and I said 7. I tried to explain why but she cut me off mid sentence and self justified everything that happened to me. She tried to bribe me with a free tank of gas if I "gave them all 10s" moments later I find out my dealer made up an email address on my account that I don't have access to. She said she could not send another survey and there was no way she could resend one. I'm extremely dissatisfied with the service. I would not recommend anyone coming here. I'd rather fill my own tank and be completely honest. I give you all a generous 5. Survey or not, I will be heard.

Ruined my Jeep Wrangler

by mara11 on 08/03/2015

The service department has ruined my Jeep Wrangler. 5 days in service, no rental car has been offered, the windshield has not been fixed (neither did they call back my insurance agent, who called several times), the screw in my tire was plugged, but shows low tire pressure now, the zylinder head replacement was not done properly and then my car broke down on the way home. So I had a dead engine and another expensive repair and the inconvenience of not having a car. I have never received a call in 5!!! days for an update, when I called in, it took them at least 15 minutes to provide me with an update. Not even a detail has been done in all those days. Guess what, my attorney is now working on it, this is an act of negligence and I got lucky I didn't get hurt. Don't every buy a car or have it serviced here if you don't want to worry about your safety or the one from beloved ones! So after going back to the service department and threatening them, I received a rental truck and the repair was taken care of ... another 4 days in the shop, no handwash, no vacuum clean, no detail ... but what I find the most disturbing is that I have never received a reponse from the GM, customer service manager and service department manager. Don't spend your hard earned money on people that are not willing to work hard for their money. I work for a premium brand, and neither I nor my managers would ever accept a behavior like this towards our customers.

Dirty Business

by ariel6 on 05/26/2015

This company is dirty from sales to service. All areas have caused me nothing but problems. Bought a dart and the financing was done a week later was told financing fell through and had to bring it back. They left a voicemail stating everything was completed so this didn't work in their favor. Since then my car has died on me while driving. Called to have them look at it the set up an appointment then called me back and left one voicemail to let me know they were not open on Saturdays to work on my car. So I had somewhere else look at it. Problems started up again and I had no options but to take it to them. They stated it was fixed. So I picked it up got a few streets away and it died so they took it back in I asked what if it dies again they said I have to deal with Chrysler from now on. I'm done dealing with them. They disgust me.

Love my new SUV!!!

by mmartinez1 on 11/21/2013

This SUV is simply amazing. We looked at the Tahoe, Suburban, which were both overly priced and pretty plain on the inside. We then looked at the Nissan Armada, which was comfortable but the gas mpg was 13. We then looked at the 2013 Ford Expedition Limited and it had very loud road noise. Then we found it! The AWD, 5.7 Liter RT Durango. It's fast, very comfortable. Has every option out there and rides soooo smooth. We absolutely love the SUV. Best in class by far. The salesman at Clay Cooley was very knowledgeable and helpful in making this decision. He answered all of my questions very thoroughly and made my buying experience very pleasant. I would have no problem recommending my friends and family to this dealrship!!

Great Experience

by Carp10 on 10/27/2013

I was a bit nervous buying a car for the first time but the minute I stepped into this dealership I felt at ease and comfortable asking all the questions I had about the car I was interested in. I can not thank my salesman enough for making this experience an enjoyable one.

My first car!

by Jwigg on 10/25/2013

Since this was my first car purchase I admit that I shopped at several dealers before finally buying a car from Clay Cooley. After shopping around at other dealers I decided on Mr Cooleys store for several reasons. They were friendlier then any of the other stores and they made the process easy. Buying a car can be scary but these guys make it fun and a comfortable experience. I know I got the best deal because I did shop around at 3 other Dodge dealers first. Next time I will save a lot of time and simply go to Clay first. Thank you!

Worst Service Department

by Skelly23 on 10/15/2013

I took my Dodge Ram to Clay Cooley so that I could make sure my repairs were covered under my extended warranty. The FIRST time I took it in they had it for over a week for basic repairs. I paid the deductible and then some and thought everything was ok. A week later I was driving home from work and broke down on the highway, so had to tow the truck back to the shop. I spoke with Alex in the service dept. He told me that they would rush it and get it taken care of quickly for me. I called every day for ELEVEN DAYS, and no they never would call me back. When I was able to speak to Alex after being put on hold and getting transferred all over, I was told was that he was having a hard time having his technician to work on it! When I finally got my truck back I found a new dent on the tailgate, they didn't even care to clean it. Now today I went to start my truck and it would not start AGAIN, so I called Huffines Dodge in Plano and I explained everything that is going on. He told me what the problem is, so Clay Cooley held my truck for no reason I paid money for no reason and they didn't do a thing. Don't trust these people!!

Poor Sales Practices + Rude Demeanor = Bad Car Shopping Experience

by carbuyer196 on 07/15/2013

My fiancé and I went into Clay Cooley Chrysler Jeep Dodge Ram looking to purchase a new car. First, the salesman Joe showed us a used Chevy Cruze and a used Ford Fusion, both of which had significant damage to the body and electrical systems of each car. Joe then showed us several different models of the 2013 Dodge Dart, after which, we sat down with Sal, a sales manager, to begin discussing our pricing options. After multiple rounds of negotiations, we were very near an agreement that would satisfy both parties. However, the general sales manager, Fernando, injected himself into the negotiations and rescinded the offer already presented to us by Sal and began negotiating at a higher price. After another hour of negotiation, Fernando made the same offer as had been previously presented. We accepted said offer and began processing the contract. While processing the contract, the financier repeatedly tried to sell us GAP insurance. We later learned that the equity we were putting into the car made GAP unnecessary and irresponsible. The financier deliberately tried to sell us an unnecessary product that would increase the overall cost of our purchase by an additional $150-600. The following day, I was notified by a co-worker that the finance manager, Scott, at Clay Cooley was trying to reach me with an urgent message that the deal was in jeopardy. I promptly contacted Scott who said that there was an issue with the title to my trade-in. I proceeded to gather paperwork from the secretary of state and department of motor vehicles that would allow this clerical issue to be resolved. Once we arrived at the dealership we were met by Fernando to discuss the title issue. We presented all of the documents we gathered, yet he showed no interest in accepting the deal as agreed. He, instead, attempted to renegotiate the signed contract in a way that would increase our cost of the purchase significantly. When we attempted to ask Fernando why none of our options were considered, he proceeded to disregard us in an extremely rude and unprofessional manner. Again we tried to understand what he needed us to do to fix the title issue, at which time he proceeded to toss our trade-in keys at us, across the table, proclaimed the deal over, demanded we return the Dodge Dart we had purchased the day before and stormed out of the room. We returned to the dealership with the Dodge Dart to void the contract, at which time, Scott (who had called us earlier that day) refused to listen to or speak to my fiancé as he was not listed as the purchaser on the contract. We voided the contract, retrieved the old title and trade-in and exited the dealership. The following day, we purchased a 2013 Dodge Dart Limited from another dealership who explained that the GAP insurance the Clay Cooley financier tried to sell us was unnecessary and that we had all the documents required to easily resolve the title issue described by Scott, the Clay Cooley finance manager.

Don't do it!!!

by jack4147 on 10/13/2012

I was asked to come to the dealership on two separate occasions to discuss finance of my prospective car purchase. I was told the numbers were ready and I would be in and out. I explained that I was at work and would need to be quick. When I arrived there were no numbers available and I was left to wait in an office alone for 15 minutes. Once numbers were provided I ask to check prices for a lease. I was sent on my way while they researched this option. I then stated calling Jerry M. for the results. When he finally answered the phone he stated he would call me back within the hour. Three days and 11 messages (left by me) later, he answered the phone. I stated my name and he starts saying hello, hello, hello and then hangs up. I immediately call back and he does not answer. I then call the main number and ask to speak with a manager. After 2 minutes on hold he manager picks up the phone and already knows its me and has my file in front of him. Convenient huh? He was apologetic but showed NO signs of correcting these issues. I have to take some blame here. I had a bad experience with the sales TEAM three months prior when I started my search and still went back. Please follow me and my postings. I plan on making this post viral. I will submit to every global network\media available. I will report to BBB. I will picket. I will obviously be extreme. This is truly the worst service I have ever experienced in my 45 years of life and I can NOT let it go. I wish that I would have read all the reviews that I have found about this place before I wasted my time. Jerry M.a and his TEAM were the worst I have ever encountered. AGAIN, Jerry M. and his TEAM were the worst I have ever encountered. Please do not buy or lease from Q Chrysler Jeep. I will be happy to provide other dealer addresses and driving direction to anyone to save you from the treatment I received from Jerry M. and the Q Chrysler Jeep TEAM.
