Bait and Switch

by F.R on 03/17/2018

Received email from Mr. Glass Sales Mgr. on 3/15/18 early am. Asked when I could make it in to test drive a Land Rover That I had showed interest in. Emailed him back and advised would not be able to make it till Saturday Morning. Emails went back and forth and we both agreed on Saturday between 8:30- 9:30. On my way to Denton where their location is. I received a call from a salesman with a Nickname of what he advised to call him Q. He asked when would be a good time for me to come check out the Land Rover that it was still available. I told him I was in Gainesville and had already talked with the Sales Manager Nathan Glass and we agreed that I would be there That morning but that I was running a little behind and that I would be there by 10am. When I arrived I was eventually met with a young man who introduced himself as Q. He immediately proceeded to tell me that they had sold the Rover the previous day. But said with the help of another young man that they had two other Land Rovers I could look at. I said but I wanted the one that was online. They then handed me a clip board and had me fill it out and asked me a few questions. Like did I have a Trade, did I have a clear title, did I have any cash I wanted to put down or just a trade. I advised only a trade and then I was asked how much was I looking for in a monthly payment. I advised $350 a month. I look to my wife and advised her they said they sold that Rover we wanted. They then scurried away to retrieve the two Rovers they said they had on the lot. So they both took off to go get the vehicles. During this time I walked outside and talked with my wife and told her this does not feel right and that we had better just leave and go back home which was 185 miles away 370 roundtrip. So I walked back in and advised the sales Mgr. Nathan that to let his guys know to just forget about getting the other Rovers for me to see. That we were going back home and that this was a shame to drive 185 miles to have someone sell the vehicle I wanted. What I mean by Bait and switch. First they show you a vehicle that a person probably is looking for. Get you to come to their dealership with the thought that you are going to be test driving the vehicle that you inquired about only to find that they never had that vehicle. Hence why does a vehicle stay on their website saying it has been a slow seller and has been their on their lot for 66 Days? But just when you take the time to drive 2hrs and 45 minutes to buy a vehicle it is no longer available. What happen to being professional and most of all Honest and loyal. These quality's is what I present when dealing with customers that I've had the privilege to serve through my job. I am appalled at the sales tactics introduced by this company and you guys should be ashamed and ask yourself were you honest with me or in God's eye did you try and pull one over on a potential and could have been loyal customer. Good Luck Guy's hopefully you all will be more honest and forthright with what you actually have on your lot for sale. And for anybody that finds themselves in this position Please find courage to turn and walk back out the door you entered. Trust your instincts it will be the best day of you life. As I was writing this review the Rover was still listed online in Stock # P8A173428 Silver Land Rover Sport 92798 miles for $14,970. Note did not even get a call back or email apologizing for their actions. I would never attempt to try and buy a car from Sign It and Drive It due to the misleading sales tactics. F. Ramirez
