Excellent dealership experience!!

by odyenvy on 07/07/2015

We bought a 2015 Honda Accord EX-L V6 sedan from this dealership yesterday. I can't overstate what a pleasure it was to work with Rusty Wallis Honda, starting with Alan Stowers in the internet dept who was professional, respectful, honest, forthright, and exerted zero pressure or slimy sales tactics and kept his word throughout as if he didn't know there's any other way to be. Xavier Maldonado was the same way when he helped us complete the transaction and take delivery of the car. John Haddock in the finance department was equally courteous, professional and easy to work with, reflecting the opposite of the stereotypical finance guy who plays the role of the "heavy" at the end of the transaction. I kept waiting for the conflict to start and to have to fight for the OTD price we agreed to in our email exchanges, but it never came. What a breath of fresh air dealing with Rusty Wallis Honda!

Be Prepared...

by jdhtx on 11/05/2013

We stopped by to take a look at CRVs and Pilots, mostly to get an idea of what kind of price we should bee looking at. We test drove one that they seemed pretty eager to get rid of. Our original salesman Mr. N. was fantastic, very upfront, the price just wasn't something we were going to be interested in THAT day, but potentially in a week or so. I originally requested the price for that, a CRV, and a few other Pilots so we could see all of our options, we only got the price option for the Pilot with maxed out dealer add-ons. As we state, maybe we should be looking at just the CRVs, or a different pilot, someone from the finance department named Syed(unsure) proceeded to attempt a hard sale on us. What occurred over the next 15 minutes took absurdity to a whole new level. He continued to tell us we we did not understand how good of a deal it was, how awesome we would look driving the car, how people would immediately notice our "status" by driving the car. Then started talking in segmented business jargon, all the while by following each sentence, "you see I'm talking business to you now." The car is for my fiancé, she did not like the color or the rims, he proceeded to tell us to let it go, the color will grow on you. Well thats just stupid, if we are going to pay 35k plus ( i will not reveal the actual quoted price in fairness to the dealer who thought they were making us a deal) At this point, I have no interest in closing any deal and just want to get away so I can laugh at the absurdity of Syed's lecture. They then inform me that to keep an interest in the vehicle (which we have none now, the price was simply more than I wanted to spend at that exact moment) I need to leave $500. No contract, no questions, just leave them the money. I say no, of course, I would want a very well drafted agreement that protects my interest and clearly expresses what I am leaving my money for and how I get it back along with all the consumer protections I would hope to see in such an agreement. He continues to insist, in fact when I ask well why don't you guys just contact me when you get a car on the lot that meets our exact specifications, they tell me that I will still need to leave $500(I'm assuming to reserve the car, or I hope that is the case. Either way thats not going to happen without a contract). We leave, Mr. N. seemed pretty apologetic about how absurd his associate was, but nonetheless it doesn't change the fact that I would be hesitant about returned to the dealership.

Fantastic Experience!

by tday426 on 09/22/2013

I worked with Internet manager, Jess S. and had a great buying experience. he answered every question I had timely and without hesitation by email. I got up front pricing, no games, no hassles. I had a horrible experience two weeks before at David McDavid in Frisco so my experience at Rusty Wallis restored my faith in Honda. I highly recommend this dealership and can't say how much my treatment from Jess S. was a breath of fresh air!

Had a fantatic experience with Mitchel. Great saleman - took time to explain the car, the contract. Did a bit of back and forth on price and trade-in. Totally satisified and would highly recommend saleman and dealership.

Bait and Switch - Internet Buy

by jdkan on 03/06/2013

I found a car we wanted to look at. I sent in a request via their Web Page and asked up front for no surprises, no dealer add-ons. I copied and pasted the VIN number in my request. So, they knew exactly what car we were interested in. I asked them for their very bottom drive-out (including TT&L) price for the car. I received an email with an offer. I countered. They told me their manager said this was good, but we needed to bring in a deposit? We went within two days to go buy the car. When we got there: "Oh yeah, about the first email, this car has all the dealer add-ons". I was furious, you could have just been up front with me and told me that in the first place. It got sort of ugly in the showroom, I walked out and went to my truck, unfortunately my wife was in the ladies room and I had to text her what had gone down. She met me out in the truck in the parking lot. I gave her all the print outs of the email exchanges I made with the dealer. She went back in with these in hand and told them. We got the car for the promised price. But what the sales person said to me in the showroom should have never happened. Why did I react in the manner I did? I am a former U.S. Air Force MTI, and to me, integrity and honor still mean something. To Rusty Wallis Honda, there is no such thing. Arrogance, rudeness and disrespect to customers.

Be aware of online/email quote!

by No_game_player on 02/08/2013

I submitted a quote request from the dealer's website on a car. The price comes back within my target range. But I only discovered when I arrived at the dealership that the quoted price does not include dealer added options. In this case, it is several thousand dollars including leather seats etc. I came back and find this line in very small font at the very bottom of the email I received. "* All prices exclude tax, title, license, licensing fees and dealer added equipment. Dealer reserves the right without notice to modify this quote for arithmetic errors, incentive changes, program and rate changes by American Honda Finance." Be read the fine print before you proceed.

Don`t trust their online quote price.

by luke369 on 10/23/2012

The internet manager Ronnie T. sent me the advertisement email, the price is very good for ACCORD LX, but when I go to the dealer, they said:" we sure have the LX, just the seat is leather. Come on, LX with a leather is not the "LX" you mentioned in email. And the price with leather is even higher than LX-P. This trick is too obvious and low level. And Ronnie transfer me to eric l. Basically, Eric l. is [non-permissible content removed]. And the way he negotiate is very rude and aggressive, he even use pen and finger to point me! PS: after three weeks, my friend(a honda accord owner) who recommend me still didn`t received the 50$ recommendation check which eric l. promised.

Chris and Rusty Wallace Honda were superb

by medroth on 09/21/2012

Chris, Rusty Walllace's Honda internet salesperson, was so far the best car sales person I ever had for buying a new car. I got the car I wanted that was on their internet, at the price I wanted, and totally hassle free. I could not ask for more. The carbuying experience at Rusty Wallace was very easy with just a few papers to sign and bam I was on the road with a new car. Chris also answered all of my questions a few days after the sale that I had about the car. Chris was very kind and considerate of all of are needs. I recommend this dealership and Chris in a heartbeat. Thank You Chris and Rusty Wallace Honda. Looking forward to future car buying experience with you. V.S.

Internet Sales Team

by laurasmassey on 05/11/2012

Working with Jim Beeson to find our "perfect" second car was truly a great experience. He helped restore our faith in car dealers, after several changed their "price" at the last moment. Jim's quote to us was well below everyone else's, and he was true to his word. That number did not change from beginning to end. Jim was very personable and easy to work with. We are very happy customers and glad to write this glowing review!!

Steve Coalson, Director of New Car Sales, contacted me and was very eager to find out what happened and did a tremendous job of making amends and fixing the situation. I would most definately recommend someone to this dealership, because they truly care about their customers happiness and satisfaction.

Everyone stay away from this dealer.

by dumayou on 06/15/2011

I was in the market for Honda CRV and received an internet quote from Eric Lucy. He gave me the internet price as $21,475. I repeatedly ask him is that price $21,475 included all the fees and extra charged from the dealer. He confirmed with me that the internet prices include all fees and extra charged that dealer added on. I ask him for the drive out price for the vehicle. He told me to do the calculation myself. All I have to do is $21,475 + TT&L. I asked how much is the TT&L? He said 6.25% + $350. So I ask him again just to clarify that there is no hidden fees and extra charges right? He said yes. I even did the calculation for the drive out price $21,475 + 6.25% + $350 = $23,167.19 (total drive out price). He said YES. Come on in and see me. Since we both agree on the drive out price. I went to the dealership to purchase the car. GUESS WHAT???? He told me NO that price is not included the destination fee and extra added options. I WAS SO UPSET!!! I even have all the emails that we communicated back and for. I spoke with the manager. I forgot his name. He was rude basically kicked me out. He won't honor the price Eric quoted me. BUNCH OF [violative content deleted]!!!!! I'll never consider this dealership ever again for anything. Please be careful everyone.

Courtsey and respect at Rusty Wallis.

by bob_mcm on 05/03/2011

In my 67 years I have sought and traded many cars and trucks. Each time I bought or traded seemed to be worse than the one before. My brother and SIL bought a cr-v from Rusty Wallis and had a pleasant and positive experience there. I though "NO WAY", but I wanted some new so I went there. I asked for the same sales rep my s-i-l used (Bernard Williams, ask fo him). He is a very pleasant young man. Not the least agressive in his manner. All the people with whom I dealt were equally courtious from Mr. Hersk Gen sales mgr to Chris Irwin Finance mgr. I enjoyed buying there. It is like no other auto dealer i've dealt with.

by fishnamedwanda on 01/26/2010

This was one of 4 DFW area dealers that I asked to submit a quote on an Accord. When I emailed to set an appointment and clarify price, I was told that price was a "mistake on the net" Next email when I asked for lease details on the correct quote, was told that they don't give lease infomation out online! Had emails from two different salesmen. Both were [violative content deleted].

Beware of any paper you present you! Do NOT sign!

by suehan on 11/22/2009

Couple of days after test driving Honda CR-V, I went in and asked the sales person, Derrick, to find me a base model with NO add-ons. And what did he do? He came back with a sheet of paper filled with more than half dozen of add-ons that I don't want, put in a price of almost $3,000 above the MSRP for the previous year 2009 model and asked me to sign at the line above. There was only one line and it says something like, "Provided the following items available, I will take the delivery now". I told him that I am not taking the delivery now. I need to see what offer he can give me first. He was just going to fool me to sign the paper and thinking that I would not read it carefully. What low-class salesmanship that is! It was absolutely the worst experience ever for me after living in the U.S. for almost 20 years! Be totally aware of anything they present you and most importantly, DO NOT SIGN anything until you read every word and every fine print.

This dealership will LIE to you to make a sale!!!

by carpediem91 on 08/03/2009

I purchased a 2009 Certified Pre-Owned Honda Civic Hybrid from Rusty Wallis Honda on 3/14/2009. I was buying from out-of-state, so I relied on my sales manager over the phone for all of my information. As I'd be making a rather long tip to pick up the car, I wanted to make sure it was exactly what I wanted. One of my biggest concerns was that I did NOT want a car that had ever been wrecked or had any damage to it what-so-ever. I was assured up and down by my sales manager that the car had never been wrecked and was in perfect shape. They even provided a CarFAX report showing that the car had never been wrecked. I flew down, picked the car up, and was quite happy with it... for a short while. Fast forward to May... I take my new Civic Hybrid to my local shop to have them do some warranty work on the car to fix some moisture in the driver's side tail light. I thought it was a no-brainer warranty issue. I had no idea what I was about to discover about my "never wrecked" vehicle!!! My local dealership informed me that it was not warranty work as the car had been wrecked, was severely leaking water, and had been improperly rebuilt! Thankfully, my local dealership worked exceptionally hard to help me out and they got Honda to cover the repair work to fix the car. Unfortunately, this meant spending 1+ week in the repair shop While all of this was going on, I contacted Rusty Wallis about this and they assured me again that the car had never been wrecked and that they'd "get to the bottom of it." Later that day, my local dealership called me to tell me that Rusty Wallis had contacted them and told them that yes, in fact the car HAD been wrecked and that they DID know about it all along!!!! I've tried returning the car to them or getting Rusty Wallis to buy it back, but they offered me either $180 for my troubles, or $2000 less than I paid for it to take it back! My other alternative was to trade my car in for a brand new one that they were so graciously willing to sell me for an additional $5000+!!!!!! I was actively LIED to by Rusty Wallis and they aren't willing to do a darn thing about it. AVOID THIS DEALERSHIP AT ALL COSTS. THEY WILL LIE TO YOU TO MAKE A SALE!!!!!!!!!

Certified Pre-Wrecked Honda from Rusty Wallis Honda

by rsparkman on 06/29/2009

Rusty Wallis Honda recently sold my elderly father a certified pre-owned Honda. During the sales negotiation, my father asked if the car had ever been in a wreck, and the sales person told him "no" and presented him with a clean CarFax report. Less than two weeks from purchase, recurring problems with the car caused us to learn that the car had been in at least one major accident sustaining significant damage (resulting in mechanical problems). So - within a few days of purchasing the car, we returned to the dealer for a refund, and the dealer refused. The dealer first tried to convince us that the car had not really been wrecked. Then they later claimed that there is no state law in Texas that requires the dealer to disclose the fact that the car has been previously wrecked (even if the consumer asks). They also claimed that they did not know that the car had been previously wrecked (even though the dealer obtained it on trade-in, and subsequently performed the Honda 150 point inspection to designate it as a "certified pre-owned" Honda). Finally (after much negotiation), they offered to take the car back again on trade - as long as my father didn't mind taking a $2,400 loss on the trade, after owning the car for only two weeks (of which 6 days was spent in their shop awaiting repairs). Later, through TxDOT we tracked down the car's previous owners and found the one that wrecked the vehicle. She said that she totaled the car near Austin. However, much to her surprise, Allstate insisted on repairing her 2003 Honda Civic to the tune of $11,000+ (I have a copy of the invoice). According to an investigator at TxDOT (Dealer Enforcement Division), Allstate actually spent closer to $15,000 on the repairs. He also said that they have had trouble with insurance companies doing this recently. In addition, he said that Rusty Wallis Honda has had a lot of complaints and that they are apparently pretty bad characters. He initiated an investigation of the dealership as a result of our complaint (with no results pursuant to our case). The prior owner who wrecked the car (also elderly, and in poor health) said that Rusty Wallis Honda ripped her off on the trade in as well. She was very angry at them. She said that when she traded in the car, the Rusty Wallis sales staff pressured her and would not let her leave until she did the deal. They also made false claims of high-mileage (145,000 miles), no AC, and standard transmission, in order to give her a lower Kelley blue-book trade-in value, and that they knew that the car had been wrecked. She said that they wore her out and that she finally relented and did the deal with them just so she could get it over with and finally go home. My advice: don't deal with Rusty Wallis Honda because they are dishonest. If you buy a used Honda from another dealer, don't pay extra for a "certified pre-owned" Honda, because it doesn't mean SQUAT. CarFax is only a stating point and cannot be trusted 100% (especially when insurance companies and dealers are being dishonest). Have YOUR personal mechanic check out the car first before you buy. If the dealer objects to that idea kill the deal and get out fast.

What can I say? Best dealer I have had business so far!

by lance_l on 04/22/2009

I went to [another dealership] earlier today and offered them a drive-out offer on an 09 Accord EX-L, but surprisingly they countered it with a drive-out offer that equivalent to the MSRP. So later that afternoon, I went to Rusty Wallis and offered the very same to these guys. They haggled me for a while (but in a very polite and professional manners unlike at [the other dealership]) and I ended up paying $600 extra from my offer. That's still a better deal than paying the MSRP as a drive-out. I saved thousands of dollars just by doing business with these guys. Look for the salesman named John Spyver (I think that's his name but you can ask at the front desk) and maybe he can hook you up with some awesome deal. Oh by the way, offer them with drive-out price will save you LOTS of time.

Pleased with buying experience (new Fit sport)

by dogcarrier on 01/09/2009

I am very pleased with my experience at this dealership. Before coming here, I got internet quotes from 3 other dealerships. The quotes were all low - so I checked out the customer ratings on the dealerships. The ratings were terrible - rudeness, lowball offers, false statements, etc. A number of the complaints seemed to be by younger, first time buyers. I do not fit that description, but I did not want to deal with rude people. I went to this dealership because it was rated better on this site. I had the good fortune to get a new sales associate, Nguyen (Win) Le, who was young and honest. After I reached a deal with Nguyen, I concluded the transaction with Billy Robertson, business manager. I was a little on edge throughout the whole experience because, having read the other reviews. I was expecting some last minute trickery. Nothing of the sort happened. I can totally reccomend this dealership. If you are in the market for a Honda, I have no hesitation in suggesting you go to this dealership and deal with Nguyen Le and Billy Robertson.

Outstanding Experience

by thirdradical on 11/04/2008

I purchased a 2009 Honda Accord EX-L from Rusty Wallis Honda on 10/16/2008. It was one of the most enjoyable experiences that I have had when purchasing a new car. Mr. Conroy, who you recommended that I contact first at Rusty Wallis, was very pleasant, got me entered into their system, and then had Mr. Rob Downing assist me the rest of the way. Mr. Downing listened to what I was looking for and was a pleasure to work with. He quickly located the correct model of EX-L and in the right color scheme so we could go for a test drive. He was very knowledgeable, was able to answer my questions, treated me as a person, and work hard to make sure that I was happy. Once it was time to finalize the financing, Mr. Downing introduced me to Mr. Brad Mills. Mr. Mills also made me feel at ease, treated me as a person, explained in sufficient and understandable detail the financing, extended warranty options, anti-theft options, Tires-for-Life option, and also got to know my driving habits to suggest the best options for me. As I stated above, the overall process and experience was outstanding. If I am still in the DFW area and I need to purchase another new Honda, I will definitely return to Rusty Wallis. I would also recommend their dealership to others in a heart beat.
