Horrible Customer service

Horrible customer service experience with John Pena! I have been working in customer service for 25 years plus and the tone and approach taken by John on 6-3-23 is unacceptable! My original service desk member was out on this day and I was told to go to another desk and a new service member could help me. John desk was the first desk I saw available (i see why). Educated him why I was at his desk then he proceeded to help me. Walked out the car came back in said your sticker is expired and you need wind shield wipers. Informed him I had sticker just haven't put it up also Informed him the dealership (Toyota Cowboy) did my inspection and just approved my whipers. Ask the question "however did you see my request in the notes for my un under shield on my car loose ". At this time he thought I was speaking about me tire shield I was talking about my rain shield under my car. Told him not sure if I did it or them however Cowboy is the only company works on the car. Explain to him if I did it meaning ran over something I would pay for it( this turn into a aggressive debate). John informed me they wouldn't remove it then proceeded to walk outside to look under the car. Told me yes its off and it would be 160.00 for them to even look under my car not to fix. However let me remind you I bought this car at the same dealership and they have service my car since I have had it for everything. He proceeded to look at the computer for sometime and then say you only have 1 oil change left and 3 tire rotation left . At this time I ask to look at what he was looking at because no one had informed me of that thus far. I never got the paper work due to being concerned about other things I didn't appreciate John tone, body language, over all attitude. All I wanted was oil change and to fix under my car. My appointment was at 9:30 on a Saturday and was told no one could look under my car on that day even though I had already explained 4 days prior why I was bringing my car in. Final I said Damn and John replied "What" I replied "You, your customer service is horrible". He replied back "I'm just direct". I said to him it's okay to be transparent however your approach and tone was completely off and wrong. The debated continued on all above what we were speaking about. The conversation ended because I decided to walk off due to appointment I had to attend. In the mist of heading to my appointment I became more irate due to the fact of what had just happened and all the business I have gave this company. After thinking this over I decided to go back and speak to the service manager Justin. Justin and I walked outside to discuss the situation. Informed Justin of everything that happened and how upset I was due to the bad experience overall. He listened and apologized for his (John) actions and said he would speak to him (that was it). I said Justin I get it that you're going just talk to him however I am a manager as well and if my employees to this action I would be furious along with given disciplinary actions. This really made me want to file a BBB even though he apologized (I really felt due to the conversation he wasn't going to talk to him). Justin tells me "It want do any good filing a complaint with BBB due to the situation". Justin again you can never judge a book by it cover I told you I work in customer service for 25 years plus and most of that is in management (and still work in management). BBB's are meant for this very same reason to share your experience! Told Justin moving forward I would contact him to schedule a appointment to look under my car in the future (because he is the service manager) however never want to deal with John again and hope he doesn't give anymore customers bad experience in his words being direct! Very disappointing.

The staff listens to you "without pressure". As always, know what you need, what your trade is worth as an average going rate, and what means most to you relating to dealer addendums. It was an easy experience that we financed with customer cash. The finance dept. enlightened us as to the best choice to take, saving interest. Salesperson, Andrea, was cool!

No Humanities when you complete your sales as business

I have been victim to buy a car by over paying to this dealer at Sat, March 26, 2016. I got postal mail coupon from cowboy toyota dealers to sell my car and i did not have any experience on buying car and they have utilized and tricked my lack of buying car experience and i ended up paying more than 2K. Sale time duration: I went 4PM in the evening and they are not letting me to go out until the deal was completed and the deal was completed at 10.45 PM. On next day, I had received email from the same dealer saying that "same spec car they are willing to sell at less than 2K which I have bought". Once again i went with the new coupon and with my friends I asked them to justify and they do not want to justify anything and they told me that if I stand further they will call police. Here I do not know this is the way people will be treated when you have rights to have question ? In Saturday certain time I told them that I want to leave and my friend was in emergency still they have not let me go out ? It is my mistake that I did not call the Police that they had my car key ? I want to inform you that in this case I might be victim and i warn you not be trapped by this dealer. In Dallas City there are many dealers are there! Please do not do the same mistake which I did!

Easily the easiest car buying day I have ever had. From meeting the owner to my salesperson and through the finance department everyone was very laid back and pleasant to talk to. I have purchased a lot of new cars and this was a positively unique experience. Highly recommend. Jay H

Easy Breezy

I am so glad I went to Cowboy Toyota.I read the comments on this site and had to go see these friendly Angels. They made everything easy as pie. My salesperson Liane Mann did an outstanding job getting me the 2015 Toyota Rav 4 just the way I wanted. The price is where I needed it to be. There was no hassle at all. I strongly recommend this dealership to anyone.

Great Customer Service

Doug Chambers was the first person to greet us at the door when we walked in. He did a fantastic job directing my husband and I to help us find what we were looking for; we had a specific car in mind already. He let us test drive the car and we decided to think it over lunch. They did not force us or play the chicanery of most salesmen and were very understanding. Scott Henderson also helped with working with our budget to give us the best price possible. Richard made the finance process super fast and easy. We definitely recommend you to go here if you are looking for a car!

Another Prius

I wasn't ready to buy a new car, but due to unforeseen circumstances, I was put in the position that I needed a car fairly quickly. Liane Mann was awesome in working with me and helped me get my car quickly. I love it! It's exactly what I wanted. I bought my previous Prius in 2005 from Cowboy Toyota, and Shelly Jackowski in service has kept it in awesome shape so that I feel like I could've had it at least another five years.

Excellent Experience!!

Worked with Robert Schultz on a purchase of a new Tundra. After dealing with 2 other dealerships and getting the run around, Cowboy Toyota was able to work with me via phone and email to find the right truck within my price range. And even better, when I got to the dealership, the prices we had discussed were the same (unlike the other 2 dealers)!! That make the car buying process that much easier, and we were in and out quickly. Overall, this was an outstanding experience, and I will surely go back to Robert again for any car purchases in the future!

Andrea George-Carrington along with her co-worker Robert Schultz where Super Stars! Andrea was patient, honest and true to her word. The anxiety behind buying a car became null and void when Andrea and Robert both assisted me in going through my 1st leasing experience. My long road trip to get to the dealership was well worth it. I will be traveling again to maintain my car, just because the service is impeccable. Something to be said for integrity and honesty along with true Texas hospitality. Ed and Cowboy Toyota went above and beyond in getting us our New Tundra 1794 - Great and friendly service - Clear information provided throughout the process that allowed us to make informed decisions into the truck we chose - A lot of the transaction was done over email and responses were quick and clear. Really took the effort out of buying a vehicle which leaves us to just enjoy our new truck! Will definitely be back when it's time for the next one. Thank you.

Fantastic car buying experience

Negotiation was very little hassle and went very quickly. I got a reasonable deal. They had a great inventory, the salesperson was great to work with and financing was quick and painless. We were in an out within 2 hours which is pretty great for a test-driving and buying a new car. I highly recommend Cowboy Toyota.

Great Buying Experience (Have had over 40 cars in my life)

Robert Schultz is a very straight shooter. He emailed me the purchase price and it was exactly the same when I got to the dealer ($500 less than my next closest price). Since I was buying a Tundra it was great to work with someone the really knows the truck. Robert is a Tundra Expert as trained by Toyota and had answers to all my questions about lift kits, tires, rims, etc. Highly recommended.

Stay Away not Honest People

Dealer did not honor payment commitment made. Sales person who sold me my new car gave me a horrible trade in on my car and never disclosed the amount. He also posted a picture of me and my wife on Facebook without any knowledge or consent. What a shock when I started recvg calls congratulating me on a new car purchase. The Finance person made a payment agreement with me which she did not keep or honor. I recvd a totally different payment in the mail. I called and emailed her ( F. Davalos ) she never returned my call for over a month and still hasn't. Very unprofessional. I continously called her only to be told she was always to busy to speak to me. One time I was transferred to her so called assistant and was told she would call me back. Which never happened to this day. I was then called back by the saleperson who told me they already sold my trade in and it was nothing he could do but promised the Finance Director would call me back...still waiting. As for my payment agreement where I had to attempt to negotiate with the Finance manager for close to four hours was all for nothing because they set my payments back where it was before we started the finance process 4 hours earlier. Just stay away from this place. These are not very Honest People.

Just avoid this place

Sales person who sold me my new car was very shady and rude, gave me a horrible trade in on my other vehicle and overcharged for what I purchased, filed a complaint about the sales person, they told me they fired him, a lie, they just transferred the guy to another toyota dealership. Service dept was ok, the three times I had to take my new vehicle back with problems three times, so far. Vehicle is still messed up, going to a 3rd party repair shop to hopefully fix my problem on a truck with barely 20K miles on it. Just overall its been a horrible experience since day one, dont suggest this dealership or the toyota brand to anyone.

Four for Four

Moved to Dallas a bit over 3 years ago and we are now on our 4th car (2 Priuses and 2 Rav4s), all from Cowboy Toyota. Have definitely appreciated the experience each time. Art Tillman has been great to work with and helped us with all 4 cars. We have been able to eliminate much of the typical back-and-forth and quickly cut-to-the-chase. And each time they were able to hit the number we were looking for. We'll be back in another 3 years and 36,000 miles :-P

Happy owner of 2 new Toyotas

If you go into the car buying experience expecting that the dealer will want you to pay the MSRP, and understanding that you have to talk them down, then you are prepared for the experience. That having been said, I will say I am *extremely* satisfied with my lease deals on a 2015 RAV4 and Corolla. Scott Henderson was an awesome salesman and helped me get out from under my previous new car. I got ripped off at Trophy Nissan, and was way upside-down on that horrible car. This experience was totally different. Scott went out of his way to explain everything to me in language I could understand. I told him what I was willing to pay and what I wanted and he bent over backwards to get me the deal. I even asked him to give me side moldings at no extra cost and he got that done too! I would say that Cowboy Toyota gave me a car-buying experience that was far and away superior to the experiences I have had at other dealers in the metroplex. Thank you, Scott Henderson and Cowboy Toyota for my new cars!
