Saved the Day

My husband and I were on a 24hr drive home from AZ when the check engine light came on. It occurred after hrs but we were able to secure an 8am appt online for the next morning. They had us fixed up and on the road by 11:30 with fresh spark plugs and coils. Great people and great service!

2018 f150 eco boost was not in my possession when ford was covering the cam phaser mistake. Which I think is embarrassing for ford that they aren't fixing all these no matter what miles or years they have on them. I like taking a truck in to have cam phasers replaced @120,000 miles, great engineering. Since that service LOL... the truck hasn't been right. It's been out of the shop for three days. Day 1 I drove it approximately 4 miles and something started dragging in the driver’s front hub, a clicking noise. I pulled off the road and it stopped. I started driving again and the dragging and noise was gone. Day 2 dragging has returned I put truck into 4H and then back to 2H, the trouble cleared. I also started to notice that the engine fan seems to be running more than I remember. No engine lights or warnings on the dash. Day three, no dragging today but once I reached my destination, I could smell antifreeze. I popped the hood, and it looks like all the antifreeze has boiled out since the coolant reservoir cap was hanging on by the last thread. Gone are the days when you could overpay at the dealer and get good mechanic work. I have a call back in to the service department, but they must be taking a lot of call backs from the shoddy work being done back there. Took the truck back in on Saturday around noon thinking I should be put at the front of the line since I'm having to bring the truck back to the "dealer". No one touched it Saturday, called and checked on status Monday at noon, no one had looked at it, called Tuesday morning and told them I need the truck back regardless of if they have looked at it or not. Truck was ready 30 min later. Boiled antifreeze all over the inside of the hood and all over the motor, couldn’t be bothered to clean it up. Comments on the work done order showed the mechanic stated that the coolant reservoir cap was on tight when he inspected it, he also found the lower radiator hose wasn’t on correctly and had to adjust a clamp. I guess I was supposed to drive it the 20 miles back to them as is with no water or coolant in it. That reminds me, I guess I need to check to see if there is any coolant in there and not just water. Real genius you got back there. Nothing was said or mentioned about the 4-wheel drive hub locking in and out. Guess I'll get a six pack and YouTube pulled up on my phone if that starts acting up again. I have been told by multiple employees at messer that they know there is a problem but when they take it to the management, management tells them if they don't like it, they can leave. Like no one’s told you, FORD you have a problem at gene messer. I'll never go back there. Still love ford trucks but I can’t get it serviced in this area. gene messer can sure make those GMC trucks look good. Did you know that new truck smell in a ford smells just like that new truck smell in a GMC, go figure.

Bad service

Serviced the vehicle and was not supposed. Servicing was never discussed. Change out the gauge cluster and everything was not reset properly. Was told one price for a part and charged another. Not a good experience at sll

Rude

When I first arrived at Gene Messer Ford service I had an appointment. However, it took several minutes to finally get one of the service team members to wait on me. They first had to argue about who was responsible for waiting on me, while only one of them appeared to be on the phone. The rest of them did not appear to be busy at all.I immediately explained that this was a fleet vehicle for the State of Texas, but when I told the representative, Jeremy that it needed to be under the company name, he told me that was too long and put it under my name. I also explained to him that I would probably need to leave it for a few days after it was finished because I live very far from the dealership. He told me that would be fine. However, when he called me to let me know that the vehicle was finished, he was very rude that I had not picked up my vehicle yet. When I did go to the dealership to pick up my vehicle, there was tax on the ticket. When I explained to him that there should not be tax on the ticket due to it being a government vehicle, he said it was because I had told him to put it under my name. I explained to him that I did not tell him to put it under my name. He was rude and frustrated because the voyager card would not work. He finally took me to the ladies in the back office who were very kind and helpful. But it took over 30 minutes just to pay out and pick up my vehicle. When I left, no one told me where the vehicle was parked. I had to wander all over the parking lot to look for it. When I got in the vehicle, it had two low tires. So much for a multi point inspection.

2011 F150

We were traveling from Dallas to Colorado for a ski week and stayed in Amarillo overnight. When we arrived I knew my truck had a problem. The next morning I called the Gene Messer service dept. and they immediately told me to come over. I met with Damien Gregor, he took a ride in my truck and immediately told me it needed to be looked at. They found out we were traveling and immediately got my truck back for diagnosis. There were some serious brake and suspension issues. It took them a 1-1/2 days, but got my truck fixed! Damien kept me apprised of the progress on a regular basis. I have never had a dealership service group treat me the way Damien did! They were awesome. The mechanic even took me in the shop and showed me the issues!

F250 Service

This went well. I was kept informed of progress and concerns for my F250. I was even taken out to the bay and shown what was needing to be done. Given a ride home and when work was completed was called by my service advisor Danny and he sent Juan to pick me up at my house. These are both good men and very knowledgeable. They are excellent representatives of Gene Messer Ford.

Speedy service

Damian was wonderfully helpful. He did tell me that it could be a long wait but he did every thing he could to get me in and out quickly. I appreciated the waiting area as I had my 1 year old son with me. The waiting area had a baby corral so my son was able to keep himself entertained without being in anyone’s hair.
