Jim Hudson Ford sold us an Expedition with marijuana in it.

Jim Hudson Ford sold us a certified pre-owned Expedition that had marijuana in it. We bought the vehicle on a cloudy day and it smelled fine. We got the vehicle home and, after it sat in the sun with the doors closed, the smell of marijuana became overwhelming. Upon further inspection, we found residual bits of marijuana leaf in the glove compartment and on the dashboard. We took the Expedition back to Jim Hudson to get it cleaned again, and they did. In the meantime, they gave us an Explorer to drive that smelled like cigarettes. We were just grateful to have a vehicle so we appreciated the Explorer regardless. We got the Expedition back and it smelled like they had cleaned it... after it sat in the sun, however, the smell returned... We searched the vehicle and more marijuana was found in the window gaskets. After this, we decided we had spent too much money on the vehicle to have to keep fighting this problem. Also, the smell was so strong that we were concerned with it affecting our children and/or our professions. We met with Jim Hudson Ford and decided it would be best to just sell it back to them. Too much time had elapsed (20 to 30 days) for us to get our trade in back, so they would have had to sell it back to us. The sale of our vehicle would not have been even, and we would have lost money on it and then have to resell it again. All-in-all, we lost close to $10k on our trade-in and left Jim Hudson Ford with no vehicle. I don't care about red tape or sales rules... when you sell a vehicle with an illegal substance in it, you should at least allow the customer to break even on departure. That did not happen​, and we went elsewhere. Maybe this is isolated (the spare Explorer suggests that it isn't) but we had a bad experience

Great Sales Team

We bought a new 2021 Ford Escape from Jim Hudson Ford this morning. Salesman George Lutz was able to find us the perfect new car; Floor Manager Ronnie Tyler worked with us to make it affordable; and Business Manager Tony Dooley worked wonders with the financing and warranties. The entire team did everything they could to ensure a positive experience. We strongly recommend this dealership because of their willingness to listen to us and do their best to meet/exceed our expectations.

Horrible Service Department including the manager there.

I brought my car in as scheduled for airbag recall replacement this morning. I ask the gentleman, I think his name was Randy about getting another ignition key made for my 2006 Mustang. He quoted me 50.00. When I went to pick up my car a few minutes ago. The staff was anything but friendly and helpful when I went in. I was basically just shoved an invoice that stated I owed 138.00. When I ask for what, the service person said for the key. I told her no thanks then because I was quoted 50.00 this morning when I dropped the car off. Another gentleman was there who never cracked a smile and told me if I got a key elsewhere that he would still charge me 100.00 to program. So, without really saying it, relayed the message you're just sol. He also went on to tell me that Randy was gone to lunch and I could either wait for him to come back or they would not release my car to me. I truly felt like I was being strong-armed by your service staff at this point and got upset to the point I tossed my cc across that counter and told the guy I have to be back at work so just ring it up. He threw the card back across the counter and stated he didn't have to take that from me and wasn't going to be talked to that way. The service manager then came over and said I will take over from here. He then started to also tell me I needed to calm down and when I ask him to speak to his own staff. The manager stated he witnessed the event and I did throw the card at him. I did not throw the cc at the gentleman. I absolutely feel like I was made to pay more than double what I was quoted by your service dept. but in turn, your company was going to hold me and my car ransom. This is by far the most unprofessional and unfriendly staff I have ever encountered in a service department. I will definitely be placing a review of my experience with this service dept. and as and will NEVER purchase or use this location. I also will make sure I tell everyone how poorly a person is treated unless you are purchasing a vehicle here, as I am sure it would have been a whole different attitude if I was buying a vehicle.

No bull-long distance buyer

Being 2.5 hrs away from the dealership I thought this was going to be the absolute worst. Was I ever wrong! Jim A. Was amazing and played phone tag with me for hours giving me all the info and finance info I needed for the car I was interested in. I had a VERY tight budget and super high demands and they were all meet! It took a little work from both ends but I was so satisfied with the outcome. Once the numbers were where I needed them we took the long drive and the car was sitting there waiting on me to be test driven. As soon as I got out my car I was meet by Jim A. With the keys in hand and quickly drove it after a thorough inspection from myself. After looking over and driving we decided to purchase and the process was so fast. They went over everything and answered every question with complete knowledge. They even got the payemt lower for us. We were in and out without within and hour and a half. That's the test drive. Long inspection. Paperwork. Our trade in inspected and driven and changing over 2 car seats along with all our junk to our new car! Very impressive! I only wish the car was cleaner. The car needed more detailing done. I was sort of disappointed on this. They had over 3 hrs to prepare the car on my arrival. I had to come home after a long drive and do deep detailing. (Inside the car) not much help for the outside. This pollen is on no ones side!

The sales staff was great... that’s about it

June 12 2018 my wife and I made the 3.5 hour trip down to Jim Hudson ford from NWNC because they had exactly what I was looking for 2014 F250. Salesman Chris Dawkins was awesome. Got the truck at a fair deal. Little did we know the batteries were dead in the truck. They jumped it off and said it should be fine it’s been sitting a while and hasn’t been drove. Said if if gave any problems to let them know and they would reimburse me money for batteries. Well 3 days go by and sure enough batteries die. I jump it off and take it to local parts store to have batteries tested. They were both bad. Nearly 500$ for two near batteries. I sent my salesman a text of the receipt and explained both batteries were bad he said well send you a check. They sent me a check to cover one battery.200$. Next my truck didn’t come with a owners manual we were told no problem we have plenty of them in our service department we’ll send you one. Well today made 26 days and 4 attempts later still no owners manual. Next my tag. The 30 day SC tag I have expires Thursday July 12 and my NC tag agency still has not received the info for the truck that should have been done within 5-7 business days. was supposedly mailed over night last week. I’ve called today 3 times and the lady I need to talk to will not return my calls. I will post an update if needed. But as of now I will not change my one star review.

I have been ripped off

I bought my F-150 from Jim Hudson Ford in Lexington and have taken it in for service ever since. Today I was totally ripped off and will never go back, either for service or to buy another vehicle. I was give a price for service and then was charged an outrageous price once completed. I have checked with other reputable auto repair dealers and have discovered I was charged up to $700 dollars to much for the same repairs. I am warning everyone I know to steer clear of Jim Hudson.

Disappointing

My husband and I have been shopping for some time but today was our decision day to pull the trigger on something. Long story short, JT's KIA had a very knowledgeable salesman , Bill but we weren't jumping up and down with their selection. On to dealership 2. Fred Anderson Toyota . No one even came out to the lot but we didn't see anything of interest so the point is mute. Now to Sick Smith Nissan and yet again no luck in selection of vans. Now to stop 4, where we spent a few hours even got in to F&I, but just wasn't comfortable on the 2.0 liter van. Cliff Hughes and his staff were AWESOME!!!! At Love Chevrolet! After 3 1/2 hours with them we decide to go home but I suggested we stop here and here's where the buck stops. James was outside I asked was he a salesman and he replies yes I said let's go, I proceed to tell him we are ready to buy something I have a credit score of 757 so financing not an issue. I'm telling him these things so he knows we are serious buyers! We proceed to complete information he asks for and we proceed to the lot. I ask does the van have a lease option, he doesn't know. We ask what size motor is in it, he doesn't know, we ask about load capacity of van , he doesn't know. Okay what does he know? So finally we answere our own questions by reading the stickers ourselves but still don't know about lease. Too late now but James and my husband test drive then I want to go and I'm told I can't unless I give them my drivers lisence, insurance card and registration! ALL IM DOING IS RIDING NOT DRIVING! I told James to ride in the back but he said he couldn't. So I gave him all the credentials and told him to hold them but he stayed I had to go inside and sign some more forms just to be a rider with ,y husband in this two seater van. We drove off after I told my husband to go inside and get my credentials while he left us standing around. What the hell? Just terrible. We really liked the van and will be buying from another dealership unfortunately. The good ole southern boys are long gone from this dealership and are greatly missed!

When I needed to buy another car, I went to see Craig, he brought up a 2016 blue candy tint Focus, and it was love at first sight. Craig worked tirelessly to get me out of the Cruze I was in, and now I have a beautiful, hot little Focus! He is patient, and knows what his customer's want. When I get ready for an Escape, I will be back!

I talked with him vial phone, text and email and then drove 3 hours from Clayton, NC to see him and to get the best deal I've ever gotten for a car sale ever. Service Department needs work

I purchased a 2016 Ford F-150 back on the 6th of December, I brought the truck back 3times to get a few things fixed I was there the 16th of December, 30th of December and the 6th of January trying to get the oil pan resealed, the heat shield under the bed and the cv axle on the passenger and driver side fixed. I keep getting told bring the truck on Saturday time of appointment and they will fix the problems, well it hasn’t happened yet Thomas Victoria

Great Experience!

I was thinking about trading my 2013 Ford Focus ST in on a 2014 Mustang GT so I contacted Ryan Garriga of Jim Hudson Ford in Lexington, SC. I had met Ryan when I was looking for the Focus and though I purchased the Focus at another dealer, I liked him, so I felt that he was a good person to contact. I had also used Jim Hudson Ford as my servicing dealership for my Focus. We finally set up a meeting and I visited the dealership. When I arrived Ryan came to the reception area and told me he was still dealing with another client and he asked if I would mind dealing with Terrell Hicks, another salesman. Ryan had briefed Terrell so I agreed. We first looked at the car I had decided on. Terrell was very knowledgeable and after discussing my needs we decided to see what the numbers would be for a trade. While they were appraising my Focus Ryan came back and we went for a test drive in the GT. While we were out driving Terrell was running the numbers. When we returned to the dealership Terrell presented me with their offer. I usually don't haggle but I did in this case because I felt their offer for my Focus was low. I got $1000.00 more after a ten minute wait. The rest of the visit was involved setting up the financing and other paperwork. From start to finish it took four hours to make me the proud owner of a 2014 Mustang GT. The whole experience with everyone at Jim Hudson was great. I never felt undue pressure to buy and they treated me very well. I would highly recommend Ryan, Terrell and Jim Hudson Ford for anyone seeking a new or used vehicle.

tire warranty repair

I had bought the road hazard policy for my daughters car. I went in after putting air in the tire and they checked it quickly. It could not be repaired because of a nail thru the sidewall. They did not have the tire in stock and immediatly let me know and gave me a loaner car. The service people at the counter are excellent and they service team even took the time to wash and vacuum the car on a non payable repair. First time i've been to a dealer service department and didn't feel like i was bothering them to do there job. I was exceedingly pleased.
