It was like coming home.

by Sealjoy12 on 01/16/2023

Star of the showroom: Dale Rowland Light of the internet Abyss: Alan Kelly Soothing Finance Guru: Deepak Rathore If I could start my review with just a few words to communicate how my experience was at RHC, it would be: It felt like coming home. And for me, that is a big thing. I started my car buying journey almost 2 months ago, and I was not happy about it either. I was reluctant and sad that my van of 16 years was finally unable to carry me and my family where we needed to go reliably. I visited 10 different dealerships. Drove about 2-3 SUVs at each one. And had a horrible anxiety inducing experience at Toyota... So I really was not looking forward to trying again. I am a 100% disabled vet, I needed some things in my new vehicle for those disabilities, and I suffer from crowd anxiety and general anxiety as part of my PTSD. With all the new tech in cars these days I was suitably freaked out. Some tech was good, the things I needed, like heated seats and lumbar support, and towing for my scooter lift. Some things really scared me to have in a car because I didn't understand them, like lane keep assist. I felt as though I was about to purchase a futuristic 007 car where all buttons were red and if I pressed them, I would either eject or ruin the car. Seriously, I'm not going to lie, it was scary for me, especially thinking the car would take over and I won't be in control. My first encounter with an employee was over email. I had general questions I really wanted answers to, and Alan Kelly answered each with poise and kindness in his communication with me. It was one of the main reasons I decided to try the Rick Hendrick dealership first instead of going to the two other Chevy dealerships in the area. But when I walked in to Rick Hendrick Chevrolet on Thursday January 12, it was like the dealership was made to calm. It was quiet, and soothing. Then I met Dale. Dale was honestly the first salesman who put me at ease by explaining, IN DETAIL, what each technology did. And that was before I even told him the car I was interested in. It soothed my anxiety level to where I could breathe and actually made me feel excited about test driving the cars I was there for. He brought them around for me, sat with me and went through things so I feel comfortable driving with the tech, and did not make me drive it alone. He made me feel like family. Some of the best rapport building I have ever seen. I considered myself a difficult customer, mainly because I really wasn't sure what I wanted, other than a few features, and that I love the vehicle. But, Dale was kind, he was not pushy, he was patient and gave the information I needed to feel safe and comfortable. That's something family does. And I appreciated it so much. I did fall in love with a beautiful 2023 Traverse I have now named Chevolina. And no I'm not kidding. My other fear was soothed by the fiance manager Deepak. Working with other finance people at other dealers left me full of anxiety and tremors that took days to get rid of. But working with Deepak was honestly like going to a spa. He was calming and nice and soothing. I already had financing through my credit union, but he worked hard to get me a better rate and that was amazing. He never got frustrated with me, or upset or angry. It was a breath of fresh air. I don't think I can say enough about the people who worked with me on Thursday. Stress usually has a major impact on some of my disabilities, making it take a few days to recuperate after being out all day and having a stressful time. But honestly, since my time there was stress free, I didn't take long to recover from my time out. And that is a huge bonus. So thanks Dale, Deepak and Alan! You made my experience wonderful.

Rick Hendricks/Tahoe

by KellyL1 on 09/21/2022

Logan was our salesman and he was a delight to work with. No pressure tactics, listened to exactly what we were looking for and helped us find it. Would request Logan again if we are in the market for another car.

RH Chevy dealership went back on their word for our trade-in value

by G. Helms on 08/24/2022

We were approached by RH Chevy to purchase our 2021 Chevy Tahoe we bought from them last year. They offered us 71,000. We ordered a 2023 Tahoe. When the new car arrive they went back on their word and offered us 65,000. I reminded them they offered us 71,000. They came back at 68,000. Their final offer was 68,510 and change. Not the 71,000 they told us.

Great service

by Alexandra Marsh on 08/04/2022

I highly recommend Andrew Mosetti if you are looking for a new vehicle. He helped me pick out my new car after I got into a car accident back in March that totaled my old car. Andrew made the process quick and easy for me considering I know nothing about cars. 10/10 go to Rick Hendrick Chevrolet if you need a new car!

Do not buy from this dealership

by jronci34 on 08/27/2018

Do not buy a car here. It was the worst 4 1/2 of coming close to making a mistake of buying a car here. Sheldon, Jason and Jamar are dishonest and wasted my entire day. I went there to look at a Chevy Trax and was told the minute I got in the car that there was a 6 year warranty. I was psyched! A warranty was a priority for me. Long story short, that was a lie and as I was in finance with Jamar 4 1/2 hours later about to buy the car, he suggested me buying a $1500 5-year warranty? But there is already a 6 year warranty included? No. Sheldon used to work at another dealership and got confused. So Jason, Sheldon and Jamar all vowed to make it right. However, they ran my credit after 4 hours of not allowing them to until I was ready to leave with the car - but I agreed to them running my credit because I was told I was getting a 6 year warranty. So now I want that hit on my credit reversed. Jamar said he would call me back to see what he could do. Emails and phone messages have been sent to him, Jason, and Tony, the manager and I have never heard back from them. Also, their customer service person called my husband the next day to get his feedback on the experience. I was NOT with my husband, I was with my sister and never gave them my husband's number (perhaps they got it from my insurance). They should call ME since I was the one buying a car there. There is so much more, that I will spare you the details, but it was the worst car shopping experience and follow up that I've ever had.

2017 Corvette Grand Sport

by grand_sport on 08/03/2017

I had to go 120 miles from home to be able to order a 2017 Grand Sport in the last week of the 2017 order period. Rick Hendrick's sales team came through and was able to order up the exact options I wanted. I received emails and calls on the manager's weekend day off. Great experience; great close of the deal on delivery. No defects and ready to role .

I've had better

by funrunr on 03/11/2017

I brought my truck in for the oil change and tire rotation. That was handled fine. However, this is the second time i have brought the truck in for the safety belt recall and was told that you don't have parts. Additionally, I expressed concerns about a creak in the front suspension and was told that b/c i have a leveling kit the technician will not look at it. I told the adviser that dealers install these all the time and this needs to be looked at. They told me no.

Worst car buying experience ever!

by Feff127 on 11/21/2016

My fiancée and I were in the market for a new or certified Suburban. I searched for a few weeks, and read everything that I could to find exactly what we wanted in our new SUV. After weeks of searching, I located on that was on Rick Hendricks web site. I have heard good things about the dealership, So I decided to contact them and set up an appointment to see what kind of deal that we could make. This was the perfect SUV, from the exterior to the interior, to all of the options that it had. From doing all of my homework, we knew exactly what we wanted. I submitted their form, and someone from the internet sales team contacted me, and set up the appointment, She was very pleasant to talk with, which was a good start. The next day I we arrived at the dealer about 15 minutes early, and was seated promptly, and one of the several managers that we would end up dealing with sat down, introduced himself, (I don't remember his name, and we did not receive business cards from anyone) that portion was pleasant as well. We were then assigned a sales lady, who seemed to be very nice at first, although she had very little knowledge and wouldn't even talk about the SUV that we had initially came in to discuss. Finally I told her that at the moment I was only interested in discussing the vehicle that I found online. She finally agreed to entertain my topic, and since the SUV was at another dealership in North Carolina, she said she had to see if it was still available. She said they could not get ahold of the dealership, and they would keep trying. After an hour and a half of her telling us that they were still checking, and trying to force a different new Suburban on us, I waited until she left, I called the dealership myself, and was told that I was still available. She was not very happy about this, and said she would again be right back. She went back into the locked office, and came back within 10 min and said they were able to verify that they still had it. I said great, let talk prices! She quickly got a manager, and I was told that they could not budge at all on the price since it was at a different Rick Hendricks dealership, but again they could make me a screaming deal on a brand new one. I replied, well lets see what you can do with my trade in, since they did not have exactly what I wanted at their dealership, that was brand new. I knew exactly what the fair market trade in value was on my vehicle, because I had checked it prior to going in. I had a mint condition 2013 sports car that the trade in was just over 25K, they came back and told me that they could only give me 19K for it, which was lower than the poor condition trade in value (keep in mind that my car still smells like a new car, has never seen the rain, and only has 14k miles on it) I rejected their offer, and they went back into the office to talk and laugh a bit more, then came back and told me that they could give me 20K for it. I again rejected it. This has now been almost 3 hours in the dealership. Then again with the new SUV, I was exhausted from playing the game, so I finally broke and said let me see what you have. They said they have one that met the color and trim requirements, so I said ok, let see what the price would be. They first told me that it would cost just over 66K, but that they could do better, since it was a “red tag” vehicle from Chevrolet. Red tag is when they offer incentives. They then cam e back and said that they could do it for 64k, I naturally said lets see if we could do any better, they came back again and said that they could come down to just over 61K, and that they could offer me 22K for my trade in. seeing that that was starting to become a pretty good deal, I told them I would like to look at the vehicle. We waited for another 20-30 min for them to bring the SUV up. Before the SUV was pulled up, one of the manager came back in and said that he just found out that this was a demo vehicle, and they would probably be able to offer me more for my trade to make up for it, ok, this sounded even better, especially since he said it would only have 200-300 miles on it. I wasn’t super excited about it being a demo, but I haven’t looked at it yet, so I could not form an opinion just yet. At this point even know it was a demo we were getting pretty excited that we would be going home with a new vehicle that night. This is where it really went downhill… we went out to look at it and at first sight it was very dirty which was ok, after all it does sit on a lot that is outside. She first remote started the Suburban and explained that feature to us, then opened the back… it was in terrible shape, worse than any new or demo vehicle that have ever seen. I never even let my personal vehicle get this dirty. Trying my best to look past it, I continued to look at the vehicle. The plastic in the back area had scratches all over it, there was a few dents in the back right quarter panel, and a couple other areas, a scratch that went almost the full distance of the back door and onto the quarter panel. The carpet was full of stains, it looked like bags of chips exploded all over in the SUV, it smelled like it had been smoked in, the back pumper was pushed out on the driver’s side, and it had 5560 mile on it. And this is what they were trying to sell me as a new SUV… now being pretty upset, I went back inside, and asked to speak to the general manager (Rudy Carter) he came up to me and I tried to explain the situation, and he said he knew all about the condition of the vehicle, however he said there was only a scratch in it that he would have to take to the body shop and get repaired. He swore that the carpet was not stained, and there were no dents in it. I asked him to come outside and look at the condition of the vehicle that they were trying to sell me as new. He refused, and told me that it was his wife’s car for a few months, and that they each get one every 90 days, as long as they don't put more than 6K miles on it, and it never gets titled, so it was still new. However, I know that if it has over a certain amount of damage, they can no longer sell it as new, which I knew this one would be over. Even after this, they were still trying to sell this to me, I told him that if the inside and outside looks like this, I would have no idea how the motor had been treated for its most important few thousand miles. He looked us straight in the face and sarcastically told us that his wife drives it like a race car, and that she had it floored everywhere she went. Being more irritated, he then explained that they have 5 kids, and she put that may miles on it within 2 months taking the kids to sporting events. Now is where it really went south. This day happened to be on veterans day, and they were fully aware that I was a disabled veteran, as I disclosed that at the beginning. He then asked me to what I did for a living, and I told him that I negotiate contracts, and purchases material for my company. He then told me that he was amazing at his job, and that I must be terrible at mine. Taken back that he just actually insulted me (the general manager of this dealer ship) I paused for a minute with no speech. He then put his hand out and asked me to shake his hand so we could leave as friends. I told him that there was no way that I was going to shake his hand. My fiancée then went to get the papers that had a copy of our driver’s license on it, along with all of the other papers...

Bob Adkison and Joan Edwards are to be commended for their superior customer service. They have done everything possible to make sure that our buying experience was / is a GREAT one. Bob does everything possible to make sure that his customer is pleased with their purchase and knows how to use all the features of their new purchase! Buying a car from Bob is buying from a "friend" not a sales person. Joan goes the extra mile to help ensure that the customer is happy with their overall Dealer experience.

Love Love Love Hendrick Chevrolet!

by Courtney_S on 12/03/2014

I have been a customer of Hendricks Chevrolet since I moved here in 2008 and have always had awesome experiences. This Chevy Sonic RS is the second vehicle I've purchased here, and it will not be the last. Nate Ford is always fantastic, and he made sure I was set up with the best in the sales department. Michael from service also checked in on me. Tally got me set up with Storm Moore to work on purchasing my Sonic. Storm listened to me and did not try to push or "up-sell" me on anything I didn't want or need. Jamar in finance was also great to deal with. Both Jamar and Storm checked with me the following day to see how I was enjoying my new car and to let me know they were there if there was anything at all that I may need. 5 star service all the way around! I recommend Hendrick Chevy to everyone I know!

Purchased a new car

by creech75 on 06/06/2014

I have been a service customer for a couple years. TJ and Chris (Service manager) at this location has always taken great care of me. This is why I came in looking for a new car here. I purchased a new 2014 Malibu 2LT and couldn't be happier. Curtis (new car manager), Matt G (sales) and CJ (finance) took good care of me. Joan, Customer Relations manager, really cares and takes great care of you after the purchase. I would tell anyone to go see these fine people! Thank you again, Shawn C

They wont admit they sold me a lemon

by nanak1 on 04/12/2013

Son bought first new car, in shop within week trainie had loose joint, they jimmy rigged it, with new part and rubber cement. Back two days later with ping noises from engine and clunks on turns. They said its normal now they say they dont hear it. Son wants same car, different one..he was sold a lemon it happens make it right! Idea to buy a new car is so you dont have to be bothered with anything but enjoying, been in the shop more now than with his used car and they could care less. Treat him and me as idiots! Family of 8 have always bought from Rick Hendrick - a new car every 2-3 years. If they do not make this right they will loose our business and anyone else that hears our story!
