Horrible Buying Experience

by EDD BLACK on 06/22/2020

Having my worst On-line car buying experience with these guys. It has taken 3 weeks to nearly a month to complete a simple purchase. If you like excuses, arrogance, poor communication,etc..... from Management to Sales, this is the place. After 2 and a half weeks I had to put a complaint into the Parent Company (Penske Automotive) in another state to be able to complete the purchase that still took another week and a half. I buy cars On-line often and have never experienced anything like this. I've had to reschedule transporting the vehicle more than once with because of this and pay for adjustments. Spoke with Erik Laberge (Manager) on June 10th after complaint and he assigned another salesman and assured me that he would keep me informed on the purchase.......It is June 21st and I only spoke with him 2 times those next 2 days after the phone conversation with management. The car is in transit now, no one form Mercedes Benz of Warwick has even confirmed the pick-up by transporter.

STAY AWAY!!

by boby9 on 04/30/2013

No real pricing available online or via e-mail. 1960's style of selling cars-they make you feel like they are doing you a big favor by making you come into the dealership then try the hard sell with little or no price concession off sticker.

Too long to get a price

by cargirl66 on 04/29/2012

i had to take the entire dealership tour even thought i first declined. I was also told by the salesman that they match any price and then I faxed the price i was given by a competitor. I was told that they could not beat it. Thus this was a total waste of my time.

This is a Mercedes Dealer??? Uncaring, disorganized

by mr2mack on 11/13/2011

My wife and I came here to purchase a GL550. We actually scheduled a time to meet on Saturday. We drove 2 hours to this dealer. Even with an appointment the purchase took over 5 1/2 hours with 2 toddler running around. All we did is wait. First we waited for them for over an hour to decide what our trades were worth. Then we waited for the loan office to run credit, another half hour (our bank had already closed because they were so slow). Then we waited another hour for a finance person to become available. If that wasn’t enough when we finished with the finance person they figured out the car was not prepped. Add another 2 hours. The salesman actually tried to make us feel bad that they held the car (on deposit) for 2 weeks. Even though we tried to get there a week earlier. When they finally drove the car over to us for delivery it had no gas, no plate and no headphones for the entertainment system. We were told they could have headphones and remotes for us on Monday though. Really? We’re 2 hours away! After some butt chewing they scrounged up hardware but still couldn't figure out how to make it work. How's customer supposed to do it if they can't? This is a $90k car. This stuff should have been ready tested and working when we got there. We did have an appointment after all. This is a luxury car dealer I shouldn’t these guys be bending over backwards for me? Nope, not here. Instead I felt like I was bending over. These guys need to do some benchmarking at local Paul Masse Chevy. That was actually a pleasurable experience! All I can say about this place is STAY AWAY! These guys are not qualified to sell luxury cars. Oh and buy the way all the dealers in that little area are under the same lousy management! This area actually at includes a BMW, Lexus, Audi, Porsche and Bentley Dealer. Michael Montri should loose his job over our experience! We left angry upset disappointed and feeling like we wasted $90k. This was not at all a luxury buying experience instead it was rather frustrating, irritating and insulting. I am actually disgusted by these people!

2010 GLK 350

by vinrun on 01/06/2010

My wife bought a 2010 GLK 350 on October 31, 2009. She loves the car. So far no problems at all. This is the 3rd Mercedes that we bought from Inskip. We dealt with the internet salesperson, Dan Lawler.

Do they just want your money,or are they trying to develop customer loyalty

by okgirl on 06/12/2009

We have driven Ravs for many years and loved them, so when M-B came out with their new 2010 GLK 350 which is just the size SUV I love, we were very intrigued and thought we might like to try it. We liked initially the sales reps at Inskip. They were not aggressive and seemed informed. And except for the fact that my young salesman kept adding "Dear" to his sales promotion to me, it was OK. The problem we encountered was after we ended up buying that night and taking home a new GLK 350. We knew it had a sunroof which I don't usually use, but I had no idea, and the salesman did not explain or even point out the peculiarities of this roof--IT NEVER CLOSES OFF THE SUN. Every other sunroof we have ever bought had a sliding panel which would completely block out the sun when needed. We drove the car home that night upon their insistence, having signed all the paper work, but with dealer plates. The next morning on my drive for coffee, I realized the mistake. The sun was beating down on my head and I could see the shadows of trees passing by over my head. I reached for the solid panel to pull across and block the hot sun, and found out there was none. I immediately went home and called the dealer. Their explanation was that I had bought a car with a "panoramic" sunroof, and that was that. From my perspective it was like buying a car with an automatic transmission, which only had 2 gears. After a couple days my calls to the dealership seemed to be making sense to them and me. I told them I needed to bring the car back, and get the same one without the sunroof, and since they still had not registered my car and I was using dealer plates, and the car just had the 20 miles I had driven home, I thought we had come to an understanding. Both the salesman and the financing person back at the dealership said they would be unable to own a car in which one could not close off the sunroof completely. But when we went to pick up our exchange car, they offered us one with none of the options which we had wanted. It was a stripped down model in which we would be paying the same monthly payment for a lot less car, so that they could reap the benefit of our having driven off the lot, and now could collect the $3,000 depreciation. While that last minute trick probably made sense to them, is that the way you would want to be treated or your family treated. They could have easily made back that $3,000 in our purchase of the E model in which my husband was interested; we wouldn't have known any the different, and they would have had a customer for life. But instead the manager seemed particularly happy that he had "got" us. This seemed simply like business as usual, so I want to warn future customers that they do not want to make loyal customers. They wanted our money. They did not want to give an inch. They fooled us into thinking that they understood the predicament we were in and told us what we wanted to hear so we would come in to "exchange" the cars. And when they got us back to the dealership, they tried to make us think the deal was the same because the payments were the same, only they had added on the depreciation of the other car to the less expensive car so the financed amount was the same, but now we were driving away with a stripped down model instead of one with many options. I really think they expected us to not notice the fact that they had added the depreciation to the note. Be warned that those who do business with them; they would rather take your money than stand behind their product and make a loyal customer out of you.
