Dishonest

by ErieSWF on 05/28/2015

They sold me an unsafe car I did not know was unsafe until I tried to trade it in 5 years later. The CarFax showed damage from the prior owner. They did this to my coworker too. They unload unsafe vehicles on unknowing women and elderly. I am now stuck with a car I cannot sell or trade in and my former coworker (now retired) is in the same boat.

They smile as they take you to the cleaners

If you think 1K off of MSRP for a loaded Durango and an under-valued trade is a gift from God, give Brian a call. I should have known better when my Edmunds solicitation for an Internet Price for the vehicle came back as the MSRP. They had a different vehicle that I was interested in, but couldn't be located. Finally, they realized the Manager's wife had been driving it. This vehicle was being treated like a demo, but not placed "In Servide." They will give you the manufacturer's warranty + any miles already accumulated. Not only did Humes expect MSRP for this one, they put some extra do-hickeys the Wife wanted (pin striping & moldings, etc...) and wanted Retail for that too. When I settled on a vehicle, the trade-in value of my vehicle was quoted at the very lowest number given by KBB and Edmunds. This was Non Negotiable! My salesman, who I refuse to rename, thought it magnanimous to not only give me the Dealer Rebates, but offer me a generous 1K off of MSRP (which I could apply to the value of my trade and save on the overall taxes assessed on the sale). When I showed the many quotes from around the internet for thousands less, he advised me to purchase from them. He stated "He doesn't work for free." He stated that they have a couple mechanics that do Manufacturer Warranty work and a lot more mechanics to work solely on Humes vehicles. Although their Service Policy may be attractive to somebody who wants to be treated better than the fray, I feel it speaks to an attitude problem that runs deep within their dealership.

Poor Experience for sure!

by ds1984 on 02/19/2013

BEWARE! I found out later after signing the paper work that I had qualified for a better rate loan. Instead the finance people at Humes put me through to a "special finance bank" even though I qualified for a regular bank loan. Do your research first on the bank they are sending you through. These guys will take you for all you are worth and then some! I was even told when signing the paper work that if I did not buy the extended service contract the deal was over with since I got "such a good deal on the car". I took a friend with me when I made the purchase, and when it came to the part about the extended service contract she was told she had to leave the room because everything was "personal and confidential". I told them I was fine with her staying as she has been with me through the entire process before, but they told her to get out of the room. The finance guy then strong armed me into an extended service contract that I DID NOT WANT! And he would not take no for an answer. My salesman was great, but when it came down to the financing I should have researched a few things before signing! Watch out for this [non-permissible content removed]! If they know you want the car, they will do what they can to get every dollar out of you! I've never had such a poor experience at a dealership before, and I won't be back! I've sent them a lot of business in the past (over $120,000 in sales from my friends) and I won't be doing that again. Especially since my first purchase from them was such a positive experience, I made sure to send my friends to them...Nice way to treat a repeat customer Humes, I won't be back...and I won't be referring anymore friends or family members to this dealership!

Humes it the best dealer in the area!

by chryslerfan12 on 11/27/2011

We bought a 2006 Chrysler Pacifica from Bob Corritore on November 4th 2011. We were very satisfied with the dealership. We like the car very much but it's starting to shift funny. We bought an extended warranty so it shouldn't be a problem. We got a very fair price, we will go back to Humes for our next car.

Used Truck

by mrbonz on 01/18/2008

Test drove a 1998 Ram 1500 w/ over 100,000 mileson it. Truck ran and drove great. We settled on a price and then they took it into their shop for an inspection. After waiting over three hours the salesman said its's going to need ball joints, universal joints and brakes and rotors at a cost of approx. $1,000.00. They would go 50-50 onthe cost of the repairs on top of the price we had settled on. I told them "Good-Bye". About 10 min later I get call on my cellphone from a gentleman from the dealer appologizing about making us wait for three hours and indicating that if I was still interested in the truck they would arrange to have delivered to me 60 miles away to home. The next morning the salesman calls and wants to know if I have someone that could fix the truck for less than it would cost them. I told him "Forget about it". Later that afternoon I called the salesman back and told him I would take the truck at the original agreed price and have it fixed myself but he said it was "sent to the auction".
