Didn't have the car I scheduled a test drive for!

Terrible, terrible experience at Simmons Rockwell. First, I sent an email request to test drive a black 2017 Ford Escape. I got a response to my email days later with no additional information, just a request to call the dealership. If you're working during their business hours and you thought that an email request would be a good way to get in contact, you'd be wrong. I called and made the appointment and was ensured that the black 2017 Ford escape was on their lot. We arrived and waited for about 10 minutes. Two nice people asked if we were being helped and called over intercom for the person that we were working with, Pat. He came out about 10 minutes late and we sat down. Prior to a test drive, you have to sign a privacy disclaimer. I was told "This just says that we won't sell your information" when it literally said that information would be used by them and their partners (other companies) for marketing. This is 100% selling your information. Then, he had us look around the lot at the vehicles and said he would meet us back in 10 minutes. No mention of the car that we scheduled a test drive for. We were unable to find the car and went back inside to find that he was working with another customer. Seems like we were double booked. Eventually he comes over, and when asked about the 2017 Ford Escape, we learned that it wasn't on the lot. The car that I made an appointment to test drive WAS NOT THERE. Seriously??? We drove half an hour to test drive this car and it was moved to another location! I have never had an experience this bad at any other dealership and I would recommend that others steer clear.

Purchased F250 Super Duty, and was delivered tonight. Jamie Boehm was the sales person. Jamie was very professional, and extremely helpful in finding us the truck we wanted. Jamie found the truck I purchased at another Simmons dealership, and Simmons Rockwell was gracious enough to drive to Hallstead for me to check out. Very impressed with this customer service, and Jamie's willingness and patience to work through the purchase with us. Best Christmas present I have ever received :-)

My husband and I purchased a 2012 Ford Explorer, and Jamie was amazing! We honestly didn't plan on getting a new car that day, but Jamie just made everything so easy, it was wonderful! We also had our 9 month old daughter with us. Jamie made us feel so welcomed, even when she was taking everything off of his desk and throwing it on the floor! We will never shop anywhere else for a car, or recommend anywhere else but Simmons Rockwell! The staff was so friendly! Thanks for making this experience so positive! (:

We will definitely always buy our cars from this dealership! They are very honest and cut to the chase and are great to deal with! Only place we will shop for cars for sure! They are so honest that when the contract was being written up they discovered the car was listed for $500 less online and they honored that on their own accord. They didn't have to do that. We would have never known!

Simmons-Rockwell Hallstead PA Great place to buy your new C MAX

I recently (2/18/13) purchased a new Ford C MAX SEL from Michael K. at Simmons Rockwell in Hallstead PA. What a pleasure to buy this car. My new C MAX SEL was at the Simmons Rockwell Bath NY location. Mike had it transfered to the Hallstead location for a test drive and inspection. Mike went over all the features (and it has a lot of features), called my insurance company and had all paper work taken care of. Business manager, John M. handled the final signing of the papers. My new2013 C MAX was serviced and polished. I was ready for my 175 mile trip back home in just a few hours. My family have purchased many new and used vehicles from other Simmons-Rockwell locations, but this was the easiest of all. I would recommend buying at Simmons-Rockwell in Hallstead PA even if you have to drive a few hundred miles extra. Your savings will not be in the hundreds BUT Thousands! Thanks Mike what a pleasure buying from you!!

They have 4 NY & 1 PA dealerships. We were working with a PA salesman who was friendly and helpful and waiting on a car to come in from an auto auction in Michigan. He promised us we had first chance at the car when it arrived. We offered to put a deposit down to hold the car - he said we don't need to do that. The car arrived at one of the NY dealerships. Another customer was standing there, saw the car and offered to buy it. Instead of upholding their promise to us, Simmons-Rockwell sold the car out from under us. Salesman apologized profusely but the dealership would not give us a price break a similar car - they "just couldn't do that". Very poor treatment. I'd hate to need to rely on them for anything else. Before posting this review, I gave them plenty of time to respond positively to our offer but they refused. They respond when you contact them via their website but when you reply to the e-mail they send - there is no response.

I recently purchased a 2009 Kia Optima from this establishment and I will NEVER buy another care here again. I usually don't do negitive reviews like this but I was in the car business for several years and what I experienced was simply ridiculas. The car was delivered filthy...items like valve stem caps,duplicate keys,and floor mats were missing that were there when I looked at the car.The whole process was very unprofessional.Although they have a very good selection of per owned vehicles,they could at least clean the ones they sell when they are delivered and at least look over the car to seeif it has valve stems on..

My wife and I went to this dealership to look at vehicles. We are looking to purchase 2. I will say there is a nice selection but that is as far as it goes. It seemed to be since I wasn't ready to buy right there on the spot that I the salesman couldn't be bothered much with helping. When I asked about the prices right away I was imformed that the prices are set and are not negotable. They also do not take deposits on cars to hold them. It stikes me like it is a saturn dealership. Car purchases are a big thing especialy when you are buying two. I was supposed to be notified when he had on his other lots that match what I want in models I am looking for, it has been two weeks and still no word. We went back to the lot a few days ago and seen that they had more on the lines that we are looking for. They don't want my money that is fine. I found what I wanted on a smaller local ford lot and will be picking them up in the next week. Oh well thier lost is another dealers gain. I will stick to the smaller dealers for now on better service and they give the time to help you. Oh and yes it was stupid salesman tacktics like the paging the salesman and everything else. My wife used to be in sales and she got out of it when her bosses wanted them to start using those tactics. I am not going to say don't go to this dealer everyone has to make money and they should look at a buyer as another commission. Not everyone is going to carry over 50k to a dealer just to show that they have the money. I will say treatment is better at a smaller dealership then these bigger dealers. I have purchased 4 brand nwe vehicles to know what the difference is like.

Went to this dealership looking to trade my 2 wheel drive for a 4 wheel drive in Dec. I knew that i had quite a bit left to pay on my current truck but had anticipated that so took along a considerable sum of cash.. But it was all not to be.. The [violative content deleted] sat me down and lectured me about how 2 wheel drive trucks do not sell this time of year and how they would have to sit on it for quite some time..Then they told me about how much i owed on my current truck, but never even asked if i had money to put down on it..They were more worried about their bottom line.. Should have anticipated it because when i bought my current truck they totally messed up my registration.. I had a special plate and was told that i could not use it ..but found out that i could.. so back i went and supposedly got it straightened out.. Or at least i had thought so!! Moved out of state and upon moving back went to register my truck using same license plate as before found out that it had never been changed from the previous car i had owned before i bought the truck!! But yet i paid to have it done.. I had bought cars and trucks from the same dealership in Athens, Pa and Elmira, New York for over 20 years and never had one problem.. But i would never..ever go back to this one!!

Our experience with Simmons-Rockwell was the best we have had in purchasing a used vehicle. We purchase a used Chrysler Town and Country van from them 2 years ago and couldn't be more pleased! We took it for a test drive, fell in love with it, and drove it home within a couple of hours. They worked hard to get us within our pre-set budget and did not try to sell us something way out of our league. They also were good to their word about taking care of a minor problem we found before purchasing our van. There was a slight wobble in the front end that we thought was just a front end alignment issue. After going on a long trip and still having issues, they serviced it again, found it was a radial issue and wound up replacing both front tires with brand new ones at no charge! They never made us feel like we were bothering them like some other experiences that we have had. I would recommend them to all my friends and look forward to my next vehicle purchase with them!
