Worse Service in 20 Years - Expensive Inspection and Wet Carpet

Went in for an inspection 10-29-22 and was left with wet carpet! Never had such a bad service visit before. It started with a high quote for the inspection, since my appointment last year was one day short of one year ago. Nobody mentioned that when I made the appointment though. Was told I had a light bulb out and signed off on replacing it. 90 minutes later, they told me my car was ready. The valet got out and I noticed the floor mat on the driver's side was soaking wet. Weather was totally dry - and so was my car when I brought it in. The valet couldn't explain it. The service advisor said he would talk to the manager to figure out what happened. I just wanted the water removed from my car ASAP. Instead he asked me to wait another hour for somebody in detailing to clean it up. After 75 more minutes they told me the car was ready again, yet I picked up the mat and found water underneath - the carpet was soaked. Had to leave, but spent time at home with rags pressing on it an squeezing out as much as possible over the next few days. This led to a lot of time cleaning and stressing over something that never should have happened. After going there for every 5K or 10K mile maintenance service and inspection for nearly 20 years, this experience was the worst. Got a call from customer care rep who said they would look into what happened. A few days later she said the technician claims he told me about the water and that there was a leak problem in my car. That's two more lies. The only times the advisor spoke with me were at check-in, going over items in my printed Visit Summary, sending me to the cashier, and hearing my complaint about the water. The summary says NOTHING about water or a leak. It says they inspected the floor mats, though. There is a checkmark after that bit. My advice is to avoid this place. For anyone going to this place for service anyway, take detailed pix of your car inside and out - before and after they touch it. Pix of what they did and the summary report are in my Google review.

All the staff was helpful. Large selection of used, certified Toyota Siennas is what brought us on a 1.8 hour drive to your dealership. The selection of 17 of them made us feel like we were buying new.

Great experience working with team Toyota

I called right as you guys opened and spoke to Dwayne, I told him I was coming from Maryland to buy a particular car, when we got there the car I called about was sitting up front with a sold sign just wait for me. This was the first time I've ever bought a car myself, Dwayne, Rick, and Corey really made this experience great. I wouldn't mind driving 2 hours again to buy another car in the future.

Good people, but inconsistent service.

The staff here is very friendly and seems to be very helpful. However, ever since. The place came under the "Team Toyota" banner, the service department has been slightly lacking. I will give my latest issue as an example: I had to take my 2001 Toyota 4Runner in to have the air conditioning repaired. When I dropped it off, the staff was friendly and was even alright with me leaving the car there an extra day or two due to my busy schedule. However, when I got my car back, the air was fixed and working fine, but one of my belts squeezed like crazy. I would have left it there to have them fix the issue, but I had a pressing engagement that I had to get to. It now regularly squeaks when the car first starts off, but it fades away after some time running. It is quite irritating. Also, the guy who delivered the car to me when I got it back from servicing heard the squeak, shrugged his shoulders, and walked away. It made it seem like the dealership didn't care. All in all, it makes me question why I bring my car here if they don't get everything right.

The man who handled explaining about my car (brought back the paperwork to me at the end of the service) was excellent. He explained everything about timing for next appointment, etc. Also, very comfortable waiting area - very professional.

First time was great, second time not so much

I went to them with a trade in, with expectations of meeting what I had found to be a fair trade in price based on my online research. They met my expected price. I also had received an online price for the new car, and they honored that too. I drove the car home that day, with not so much as a glitch anywhere along the way. They did a great job, were honest, and everything was perfect. A couple of weeks later, we decided to trade in my wife's newer car, based on the IIHS recent problems with test results, and I could not get them to give me a reasonable price for my trade. The sales manager was supposed to get back to me, and didn't. I got ahold of him, and despite another attempt to get them to give me a realistic trade price, they did not even call me back. I was looking at buying at $43,000 car. And I could not even get a call back? Not even a courtesy call to say "Hey, no way" or whatever. Nothing. So I went down the road to another dealership (not Toyota), who offered me a decent trade price on her trade, which was what I was looking for, took the expected amount off of the new car (comparable to other dealers on same model), and so I gave them my business. They worked hard to get my business, the same way Team Toyota did the first time, but blew it completely the 2nd time. Sad for them, if the other dealer could see the value in my trade, and still take money off the new car, Team should have too. Their loss, my gain. I actually like her new car better than what we were looking at with Team.

Chris Hihn + Kelsey Lane = great customer service skills

Kelsey Lane has great customer service skills. She is polite, mature, and helpful. Chris Hihn made my day with the recognition that I have been bringing in the TPMS codes for wheels that I want switched, and previously Team Toyota has not been charging me correctly. I was in the process of figuring out how to avoid coming to Team Toyota, and Chris made that action unnecessary, so I will be coming to Team Toyota in the future for swapping wheels. Please give Chris a lot of credit for listening to me, understanding my concern, and noting my records.

Poor Treatment

On Friday, the traction control light turned on (with no sound) and stayed on while driving, stopped and parked on my 2010 Prius. I brought it to this location to check and see what was wrong. I was informed that the steering angle sensor circuit went bad and that it would be $944 to replace. I asked if the car could drive fine without the repair and was told it would be okay. I also asked if this error light could be turned off and was informed that it was impossible. I went home and parked. Sunday night, my first time driving since after visiting the dealership, I noticed that none of the interior lights would work. Monday, I brought the car back to the dealership because I was sure that it was due to something from Saturday due to the timing. I only stated that I brought the car in on Saturday and that none of my interior lights now work. The guy at the counter, Mitch, said "Let me just go check something before we make a big deal out of this. I bet this will fix it." He walks out to my car and flips the dome light switch. Yes, I am too dumb to have tried that before... He also told me that my car was old and that a 20,000 mile car is very different from a 120,000 mile car. My car was just in for a 100,000 checkup 2 months ago and is only 4 years old. Anyways, after being told that I should just drop the car off for a diagnostic instead of being looked at then, I requested to talk to the manager who I think is called Jim but I can't be sure since he never came and saw me. Mitch only goes to talk to the manager and then talk to me. I never get to see the manager. We finally agree that I would be charged nothing since I was just in on Saturday. After 3 hours, I am informed that it was just a bad fuse due to my aftermarket door lights which have been functioning fine for quite a while. Anyways, driving home, I noticed that the traction control error light was no longer on. I have received other opinions on what was originally wrong and it seems that it was just a bad fuse to begin with. I am upset with being told my car required an expensive repair when it really was just a bad fuse, and I am also upset at being treated like I am stupid by Mitch. I am upset that I paid $90 to have a diagnostic done only to be misled. I am upset at not ever being seen by the manager. If a customer requests to see the manager, they should see one.

Honest Service!

I have been a Toyota owner since the 90's and always take my car to Carousel for service. On my most recent visit I asked them to check my brakes as a nationally known Tire and Battery dealer told me I needed new brake pads to the tune of $248.00. I was told by Carousel service department that I did NOT need new pads and in fact had plenty of wear left. I happened to be at the tire place for a "free" alignment. I guess they had to make some money somewhere! This is the 2nd time Carousel Toyota assured me that my car did NOT need repair after this Tire and Battery company told me I did. On a prior visit they tried to scare me by telling me all my shocks were leaking. I stopped by Carousel to double chekd and they assured they were NOT leaking and I got on with my day. They are not only HONEST but a pleasure to deal with.

Great Service Experience

I own or have owned several Toyota/Lexus vehicles (’02 Highlander, ’04 RX330, ’04 Sienna, ’09 Camry Hybrid) that were serviced at Carousel Toyota. The services have included major routine service (every 15,000 miles), warranty and recalls, out-of-warranty repairs and even some body work. I have always found that the service work was done right with qualified service technicians and genuine Toyota parts. They have a great loaner-car program if you need to leave your car at the shop for a day or more. Carousel’s customer care has always been top-notch and their price is competitive with most independent service garages in the area. The only vehicle service that I have done outside of Carousel is routine oil changes at my local service station, replacement tires and warranty work on the Lexus RX330. I would highly recommend Carousel Toyota for all Toyota and Lexus repair and maintenance service.

Wonderful Experience at Carousel Toyota

My husband and I bought a Toyota Sienna from Jim Dougherty at Carousel Toyota a few weeks ago. We had originally intended to just look, take a test drive and weigh our options on some different brands/models. We had put this off for a while and one of the reasons is because our car buying experiences have typically consisted of a sales associate pressuring and hounding us. This is exactly the opposite of what happened at Carousel. From the very start, Jim was very down to earth, gave us the keys to a Toyota Sienna for a test-drive and stepped back so we could decide if we liked it. It turns out we loved it and felt that it would be a very practical car for our family. Jim sat down with us, went over our options and had everything laid out in front of him. I have to say, although quiet, Jim is really funny. Even the negotiating process was pleasant. What really impressed us though, was how Jim acted AFTER the sale. It was obvious his number one goal was for us to be completely happy and satified with our new purchase. He spent a good deal of time going over all of the bells and whistles and patiently answering our questions. He even called to follow up to see how we liked our new Sienna. We could not be happier with our experience with Jim - we kind of missed him when we left:)
