Ron Tonkin Service/ Excellent

I came in for a service repair covered under warranty, and the service was excellent and very helpful from beginning to the end. I was kept updated during the process of repair time and cost. I was very satisfied with the whole experience , they worked with my work schedule and made it very convenient to have my car back efficiently.

Not the best experience buying a new car. No transparency. Car not cleaned when I picked up. Given a coupon for a car wash. Felt like they've had to meet year end quota and just wanted to sell a car.

2016 Tahoe status

Saturday 4/23/22 I picked up the Tahoe -Tires rotated back to original – OK -Air Conditioning tested and provided proper cooling 47.4 F to 47.8 F Both Saturday & Sunday. -A/C appears to be working as expected, no more condenser fans roaring, suction tube is cold as expected, etc. Other: -Two scratches remain on lower left rear passenger door. It needs to be restored to its original condition and look like it was when it was brought in to Ron Tonkin. The scratches need to be removed and repainted. All our vehicles and airplane are continuously upgraded to minimize devalued depreciation. Damage by others is unacceptable to our long term objectives. Note: I can get quotes if needed. My son in law is the manager at Kuni Collision and they have done body work on my other vehicles. Serious Concern you should be made aware of: (Pics attached) The following is for your information, we at this time have not identified any missing significant personal items, however as with any theft it can be difficult to remember what you had in the location that was gone through by others. -The fact that someone rummaged through our personal belongings is very disturbing. -Upon unlocking the locked drivers door (unsure if any other doors were unlocked) and picking up the vehicle I found the center console tray removed and placed on to the drivers floor area. -The white rag had been relocated from the drivers door side compartment to the on floor console tray. -The bottle of aspirin lying in the tray had been opened and tablets were strewn throughout the tray. -The front passenger side door compartment was disorganized and gone through by someone and the hand lotion was displaced and was found in the center coffee cup area. -The $ change holder had quarters, dimes and nickels; only the quarters compartment was empty. -We had to sanitize all of the items we feel had been handled and gone through by others. Was looking for a 2022 silverado. Chris from Ron Tonkin reached out to me. We went over what they had in stock, plus what was coming in. They had a black silverado rst available. Perfect. Put a small down payment to hold it. It came in a few weeks later. Had some dealer incentives to use. Added a few things. Love it. The process was flawless and easy. Would highly recommend Chris and the staff at Ron Tonkin.

Just go somewhere else

Unsure about the quality of the used car I traded in for since the headlights didn't even work when I got it. Makes me highly doubt any of their used vehicles are properly inspected if they miss something that obvious and important. At this point I just want my trade-in vehicle back, and I thought that a letter from the credit union saying that the loan was denied due to the value of the car being way less than the loan amount would be enough to void the spot delivery agreement, but apparently the financing did go through and I'm SOL. Just save yourself the headache and go with a different dealership (or even an online one with no dealership pressure).

Fantastic service and deal.

Cameron was an absolute professional and made the stress of setting up our test drive and process of buying a new car painless. Being recently carless at a time like now was very anxiety inducing, but knowing we had a Chevy Bolt in mind, Cameron was knowledgeable about this specific vehicle and electric cars in general (new electric car driver/owner here). At no point did either my spouse or I feel pressured or uncomfortable with how Cameron handled our car shopping worries. He was very kind, professional, and highly passionate about cars which helped with any questions we had about the Bolt. He was even so generous enough to offer to pay for snacks from the vending machine for us, and stay well after the dealership had closed just so we could finish up our transaction; also washed our car which was very sweet of him. I would highly recommend Ron Tonkin Chevrolet, and praise their salesperson Cameron. Between how great the deal the car was, and the ease of our whole experience with buying a new car, it was a very pleasant experience.

Bolt dash screen failure

I believe failure is in the computer, but techs say there are "too many" possibilities and they cannot test everything and need to see the failure. It is random and seldom lasts for long, so not likely. GM suggests replace radio. Maybe...Here is my thinking: when warranty runs out I think they will find "the time" to "test everything". Also, GM/Chevy may have cut corners to meet high demand for Bolt. Yesterday I found another Bolt owner same problem. Failure abt 10x last 7 mths. 2 times, cruise failed to work. People in service very friendly and try to be helpful, but I don't think they have faith in my ability to discern, 2 stars rating reflects their unwillingness to search for other customers/service depts. with the same complaint. They did call GM and perhaps the failure is with GM and not the service dept. However, I expect this service dept to be a little more curious

Always something..

Well let's start with it took an hour and 45 minutes to get a simple oil change. Also they checked off that they filled my washer fluid which they did not.
