Fantastic Buying Experience

A long way off from my first impression

I was extremely happy with my initial buying experience with Mark Allen. But it ended there. After a series of events, I have lost all trust and confidence that the requested service is actually being performed completely. The problem is, I am stuck with Mark Allen for service in order to honor the warranties, since the engines for life warranty specifies all oil changes MUST be performed at a Mark Allen dealership. And my extended bumper to bumper warranty comes with a deductible if work is done outside of the purchasing dealership. I have made multiple attempts to discuss my issues with management AND ownership, to no avail. So the genuine and sincere person in the commercials, which is what initially brought to the Mark Allen dealership, isn't quite what it seems.

Great experience

We had a great experience at Mark Allen GMC. As we arrived and Joe the Salesman went to get some keys to show us some vehicles, through the front door comes Mark Allen with extended hand to greet us, and continued to chat until Joe got back. Huge plus right off the bat. There were a couple of things that turned the day slightly sour by the time we were done, but all in all it was a good day at the dealership. The best part is when we went back a few days later to address the few issues we had. My wife was not wanting to speak with anyone but Mark Allen. So we waited because he was at his other dealership in a staff meeting. So Mark showed up and we were his first order of business. He did nothing before asking someone to loan us his office and sitting us down to talk. And he told us from the git go, that we would be there until things were resolved. And that is what happened. Long story short, problems solved and he listened to anything we felt we needed to tell him, and he assured us they would be addressed with his people. Not mentioning the things that soured our visit was intentional. That is not what this review is about. It is about the fact that Mark Allen took care of it, personally, and then some. Awesome guy. Awesome dealership. Far better than the other GMC dealership that we had been dealing with. No comparison. Have already recommended Mark Allen to a friend who just bought from him also.

Service from Rick and team was fabous!

Rick and his team gave the best customer service I have had at a dealership, and ... I'm a man, I'm 48!! My truck was dirty and they washed it and it looks great. I had issues with my mirror and tires rubbing, and they fixed both timely. The tires rubbing was a big chore. They had my oil change, rotate and balance in only a couple of hours!! Rick has a can do attitude and he met every committment. I hope you take care of Rick and his team as well as he takes care of his customers. I will be back and I will recommend Mark Allen GMC to my coworkers and family. Mo O'Connor

CUSTOMER SERVICE IS ON POINT!

I purchased my Yukon from this dealership a couple of years ago. Recently, was in Tulsa (I live an hour away) for an appointment and my ac was not working. I drove an hour to my appt that morning not thrilled about being warm... as I came out of my appt the temp was now 98 degrees outside and higher than that inside my BLACK Yukon. Back story: my husband was out of town, I am a working mom so my schedule is crazy at this point in time and needing to pick my kids up from school. I am stressed out and trying to figure out what to do. 1) drive an hour home in a 100 degree hot box or call someone to rent a car. I had made my mind up I was not driving it home so I called the dealership (now Mark Allen) and they quickly transferred me to the service department. I had no idea whether it was under warranty, if I needed an appt or what. I was transferred to James Covington in the service department and he was fantastic! Told me to come on in and he would see what he could do. I drove up, parked in the front and one of the salesman happily drove it around to the service department for me. James was very friendly, reassuring and told me that he had the parts and he would get it worked in, repaired and I would be on my way in two hours! The was such a blessing to me! They repaired it, he had me sign the paperwork and told me to go on my way and get my kiddos! I am a Realtor so I know the importance of customer service, respecting others time and doing a job well. Mark Allen GMC gets a superior rating from me for customer service and James Covington should get a bonus or a raise! He was so calming, friendly and helpful! Satisfied Customer, Jennifer Wright

Great people

Mark Allen Chevy is great. Great, understanding people here. In December 2018, we bought a Chevy Traverse from Mark Allen. I am in a wheelchair, so we bought this vehicle specifically to get it converted with a ramp and the whole works. When we bought the vehicle, everyone was very nice and understanding of the situation we were in. When buying the vehicle, we hoping someone would understand our dilemma. I needed to be able to keep my trade in to get around while the Traverse was being converted. Thankfully, they understood our situation and let me continue to drive my trade in, until the conversion on the Traverse was done. The conversion process was only supposed to be about 3 or 4 months, but unfortunately, the process took until about a week shy of 8 months. Insane, I know. Throughout this process, the people at Mark Allen were continuously understanding and let me continue to drive the car. When we went to drop off the trade in after getting the Traverse back, they did not ask for any payment (which we were expecting to pay) for the extra time I continued to drive the car. I cannot express how grateful and appreciative I am of their generosity and understanding. So anyone looking for a new car, go to them! Buy one from them! Amazing customer service. I tell anyone looking for a car to go to Mark Allen! We are so thankful for everything!! We could not have picked a better dealership to buy from!

Yesterday i had the experience of how you can "save" the reputation of the company you work for when you are willing to walk the extra mile to keep your customers satisfied. I had a problem with my GMC Terrain battery that was supposed to last 48 months and after one year just broke completely. The battery has all the information about the dealership and they could even see i bought the battery in that dealership, but one of the guys that is simply "there" to go by the book, said that he could not do anything regarding the battery because i did not have the receipt. I tried to explain to him that it is normal that you don't keep the receipt for a battery that it is supposed to last 4 years but did not last one. Then Carl took a stand either for the customer and for the dealership by offering to do everything he could to solve my problem realizing that i was right. The problem was sold by Carl and thanks to HIM i will continue to go there for the maintenance of my vehicle and probably will also go there whenever i decide to switch. I want to be very clear that it is ONLY because of Carl's attitude that i am write a positive revue about the dealership. If i had to write a comment based on the other guy's "go by the book" mediocre attitude, this review would be precisely the opposite. To the owner and management of this dealership, you should keep people like these real close to you. They stand both for you and for your customer.

The worst car buying experience ever!!!

I have never dealt with a more inadequate sales force in my life. I am from out of State & had been working with the salesman for almost a week on this purchase. I wanted it to be GM Certified & so he told me he would get it done but I would have to pay $700.00 to get it done. I agreed & paid for it. They knew when I was coming to pick up the vehicle & still did not have the paperwork ready. In fact, they made me sign a blank certification check sheet & he said he would transfer the information from the original. That raised a red flag immediately. There were several things on this vehicle that I wanted fixed & he only agreed to fixing a couple of very minor things. He commenced to telling me that when he certifies a vehicle it costs him $500.00 & so he has to pick & choose what he fixes & what he doesn't. I then reminded him that I paid $700.00 ($200.00 more) for it to be certified. He also tried to make me believe that if there were something wrong like the front struts leaking, I should wait about 6 months before I go get it fixed under the certified warranty because they will tell me that it should have been caught during the inspection. Ya think??? Well it took him over 2 weeks to finally get me the checklist & when I did, this is what I found: The date of inspection was dated 08/23/17 - I picked the vehicle up on 08/18/17 & I signed & dated it (seem pretty suspicious?) There were things checked off that my vehicle doesn't even have like a bedliner (on a tahoe??) They have the color of the vehicle as White (Wrong again). The incabin air filter was absolutely filthy (I have pictures) & I had to pay to have it changed once I got it to Texas. By-the-way, that is also on the checklist....hmmmmm. I think a lawyer will have a fabulous time with this paperwork. He was supposed to get me a trim piece & I still haven't seen it. He argued with me about wi-fi capability & still refuses to see if there is anything he can do to make that right. He had to do the paperwork 3 different times because I told them that I needed the deal sheet with the out-the-door price (tax, title & license included). Well they got the taxes on there but not the rest so I had to pay out of my pocket the rest so I can get it tagged in Texas. He wanted me to fund him the total amount & then he would send me a check for the taxes because they didn't do out of state title work. My banker even called them to verify they were going to handle it all & they assured her they were. Well they did not. Luckily, my banker said no, we will fund the amount of the vehicle only & you pay the difference & we will take care of the tax, title & license right here. Can you imagine how long it would take me to get a check back? I am completely unsatisfied with the experience I have had with this dealership & I think they should reimburse me for the $700.00 I paid for the so-called pre-owned certification & I'm still not sure that I won't have to get a lawyer involved. That is yet to be determined. I only gave them one star because it wouldn't let me submit it without one. Jamie Humphrey
