Chevy Bolt EUV

by Ohio Richard on 01/12/2024

Overall I was pleased. In the summer of 2022 I ordered a EV Blazer RS. At the time we were looking for an All-Wheel Drive to tow a 19 foot sailboat ⛵ that my wife's son bought her for a retirement. I was teaching in Mansfield and thought the long hills would make for a good test drive. I also liked the fact that the dealer promised not to charge over MSRP on a high demand car (a different dealer was going to charge us $5,000 over MSRP for a Toyota RAV-4 Prime. Then, for a variety of reasons, in October of 2022 we bought a Lincoln Corsair Plug-in Hybrid instead of waiting on the EV Blazer. In the spring of 2023 I retired from the Mansfield School where I taught, and even though we lived over an hour away, when the EV Blazer came in i drove down to test drive it. They allowed me to test drive it for ten miles by myself--a drive that included a tight turn onto an interstate with a two mile long climb. The car accelerated well and I got to then try another entrance up a hill on the way back. Nonetheless, I knew our budget couldn't afford both the Corsair PhEV and Blazer EV, and so I asked if I could try the Bolt EUV. They again allowed me to take the Bolt on the same 10 mile drive with the two interchanges onto a two mile uphill. Even more amazingly, they allowed me to put a quilt in the back and see if the Bolt EUV could fit my triathlon bike. It did--which surprised me since the Corsair can't fit the bike. Anyway, the salespeople were great, but as I've learned, it's the sales manager who makes or breaks the deal. I've bought enough cars to do my homework. So I lined up a loan from my credit union and I filled in my application for the $500 GM Educator discount. I made sure that the Bolt was still eligible for the $7500 dollar tax credit and that my wife and I were still eligible. And I accepted the offer of $6500 on my trade in because I knew it needed it had three minor problems and an EPA check that I didn't want to bother with. Nonetheless, my one last fear was shortly after getting the deal through, I learned not all dealers want to do the Tax Credit paper work, but Graham Chevrolet did do it for me under 2023 rules, but I'd ask how they handle 2024 rules. I was pleased about the car, and when I saw that Consumers Report noted that Ohio Chevy Bolt EUV buyers only averaged $150 under MSRP, and I was about to pay full MSRP - $500, I figured the allowing me to take my time, do my homework, take two quality test drives, etc. was worth the no hassle approach and a pretty good deal.

Chad Shumate, Sales Consultant at Graham Chevy in Mansfield, Ohio

by Paul Has on 02/11/2022

My wife and I purchased a new car from Chad Shumate in April 2021. Chad made us feel at ease from the start, was friendly, polite, and at no time did I feel pressured. Chad gave us info and facts about the car and answered all our questions. Last month, 1-2022, we purchased a second new car from Chad. When I was first thinking about getting a car, I knew Chad would be the first person I would call. Once again, my experience at Graham Chevy was awesome!! In today's world where personnel service does not seem to matter as much like it used to, Chad is a true exception!! I would not hesitate to buy another car from Chad. Thanks, Paul Hasenauer

2022 Equinox

by Skypilot on 01/04/2022

End of lease was coming due and I had to decide whether to purchase my 2019 or lease a new one. If I traded, I wanted lower payments and less extras. I was offered a 2022 Equinox, with fewer extras, a 24 month lease, lower payments, and no money down. This was a different a color than my last three vehicles, which I wanted, so, I took it.

Your Cliche Used Car Salesman Non-Sense

by Smart_Consumer on 05/29/2014

We did our research and had a few Chevy Impalas we were interested in at this dealership. Dave S was the salesman who approached us. We told him that we are looking to purchase 3 vehicles within the next few years. One would be a Town and Country, which my husband our 4 kids and I looked at. The kids, of course, loved it. Dave decided it would be helpful to him to talk directly to the children and tell them that if we allowed it, they could have that vehicle today. Not cool. Once we decided the newer Impalas were not what we were interested in, a 2006 with 31k miles on it appeared in the service department. This was a beautifully taken care of vehicle and met our needs. We were told it belonged to the uncle of another salesman. Nope. It was within the dealership's possession for 4 years. We asked for the service records and CarFax on it., realizing from having had family and friends in the used car sales business what kind of games are played. The CarFax showed an accident with functional damage. Dave incorrectly told us that it could have been as minor as a shopping cart ding. Nope. It hit a utility pole. The service records were incomplete as it did not show repairs to the right side and rear that would have had to have been done. We were willing to put this all aside, again, knowing the game and having the facts. We left and called at opening the next day to have Dave run financing on us. He had our SSN and DOB and said he'd call back in half an hour. He incorrectly decided to list my profession as "domesticated housewife". I homeschool 2 special needs children and have more professional experience than he does. Not a good way to go with someone who is half of the equation in purchasing a vehicle. Over an hour later, another salesman, Mike, called saying that the car was sold out from under us that morning. Nope. The car was used by someone at the dealership for the Memorial Day weekend. However, Mike said he was more than happy to show us the Pontiac there that Dave also tried to show us. This vehicle was also in their possession for 4 years. We understand that dealers keep vehicles for business purposes and "courtesy cars" for existing customers. Dave called us on Tuesday to say that the person buying the car returned it and offered it to us once again. We will pay (and did) more for an honest dealership. Had he simply told us the truth and had the decency to call us back himself, he would have had our business.
