Steer clear

by Dan Burns on 09/29/2019

Steer Clear. Went in with an appointment and cash in hand to buy a used truck. Could not find anyone not on the phone for about five minutes. When I finally met the salesman we could not locate the vehicle. When it was found it was filthy (dirt, old food, bandaids etc.) It had body damage that was due to be repaired but had not been despite the work order being built in to the asking price. The vehicle was disgusting and certainly not sellable. It was also not able to be taken for a test drive that day apparently. The whole thing was ridiculous. Poor business practices. The employees were very nice however.

Used car warranty is a scam

by Rick on 02/19/2018

Sales said the car we were interested in had a limited warranty. Negotiated the price. Ready to sign paperwork, and all of a sudden there was no warranty. How does the warranty disappear after all the negotiating is final?????

Was a Toyota customer

by Tmech on 02/10/2018

This dealership contacted me about purchasing my truck. They did an estimate not bad, but when I tried to get into a new truck they didn’t have what I was looking for. Now they did some research and found a few but could not obtain them even one the is 45 mins down the road at a at a different Toyota dealership. Don’t want to sell me a car fine I’ll be heading to Chevy.

Advertised a low price and won't sell it at said price.

An email I sent to Beechmont Toyota On 2/7/2017 on your website, you advertised a Highlander model at a sale price.  I queried about the vehicle and your reps--in writing--stated it was available.  I realized this particular Highlander (a 2017, loaded, blizzard white model) was the highest priced, largest percentage discounted of the Highlanders. To assure this was the case, I queried your reps in my subsequent emails (see thread below). Those folks continued to confirm the availability of this Highlander.  Bradley Keiser II had me fill out a credit application using the link he provided in his e-mail.  Indeed, later Claudia indicated to me that we were "good" in regards to that application. In a subsequent telephone conversation, on 2/9/17; Claudia quoted me a 36 month lease at $568 with 15,000 miles per year and a 24 month lease at $669 with 15,000 miles per year.  Quotes were based on the excepted price in the following record of communications. I explained to Claudia we would be there on Saturday, 2/11/2017, to look at that Highlander to which she agreed. On that date, Friday 2/11/17, I called Beechmont Toyota to confirm the availability of the discussed Highlander. Bradley Keiser II told me the vehicle was still available. On that date, my wife and I drove 61 miles--one way--to purchase or lease the Highlander.  Upon our arrival, we met with Bradley Keiser, Sr.  Duri g our discussion, he told us that the vehicle was on the lot, but we could not buy or lease it at the advertised price.  Plus, we could not physically take the vehicle because the General Manager was/is driving it.  Further, we had to fill out a paper application because the online credit application was not needed.  Then, we found we couldn't buy it the aforementioned prices, even though it was the most discounted Highlander on the Beechmont website. Even with this information, Keiser Senior proceeded to negotiate with us. This even though he said we would not be able to physically up the Highlander until the general manager got another vehicle. This could be in a few days, weeks or even months--IF we signed and provided a "non-refundable $500.00 deposit." Even with all this, it still had a higher price than quoted.  He justified the higher price by the additional costs to cover my trade-in payoff, though when I reviewed the math later, it simply did not add up. I have done a bit of research online and have a question for Beechmont Toyota: why should I not contact the Ohio Attorney's General to seek clarification of the laws regarding bait and switch and interstate commerce?

Typical, difficult purchase experience

by rav410 on 03/28/2012

You really need to be on your toes NOT to get ripped off here. Did I get a good deal? Sort of. Before I went in to buy my car, I went on KBB.com and Consumer Reports' subscription site to get the right prices for both my trade in AND purchase price of a new RAV4. I attempted to negotiate a deal, but got nowhere with the salesmen. As I was about to leave, another salesman, Marvin? "Took over to see if he could earn my business". He then proceeded to attempt a round of good cop bad cop with me...every time I told him my offer price he would then "rework" it so it made sense to me (!), including adding in "THEIR" cost of the free car washes (i never used) and the "FREE 36k" service...etc., etc., At one point I stopped him and dragged him out to the lot to show him how he was marking UP the sticker price...he got red and said "Well, lady, you're pretty quick. Then he kept talking monthly payments and I kept reminding him that I was only concerned with what I was paying for the car (I was paying cash). The entire process took 5 hours on a weekday. I finally got the trade in I wanted AND purchase price within $100 of the consumer reports best price...It WAS one of the more insulting experiences, but as a woman, I'm used to being on my toes. I paid cash, and the manager attempted to get me to finance my car so I could "earn interest" on my $$$ while I borrowed theirs. I highly caution against dealing with them. If you do...be sure to stay on your toes, and don't go alone...I was able to follow along with his game fairly well, but only because I was prepared and expected the worst. I doubt, very much that somewhere I got ripped off...stay tuned for the service review.

Non Knowledgeable , Problematic car sellers

by ufaquarian on 12/13/2011

Went in to buy a used car after i had made my offer online. They called up and wanted to come in. Upon test drive I highlighted a few issues , they offered to get it checked from their used car manager. I was sent back home ! The next day I reached out and they replied back saying the service manager says that the ABS ( had high vibration) was working fine and there is no job to be done. The car took ages to come to a stop and with a high crankling of brakes. They simply refused to accept the car had any issues. They did not followup on my concern and moved on. However one thing was pleasant the manager had a great personality however his staff didnt take any of those .

Yea, I'd buy there again

by juand1 on 08/02/2011

Salesman was somewhat inexperienced, but very professional. The entire sale was one of the best car buying experiences I have ever had.
