Terrible Customer Service

by Dmusic on 01/10/2023

My wife and I have been here four times in the past, and still haven't test driven any of the cars we went to see; the most recent was Saturday around 9:30 - 10:00 am went to see a Mercedes; I saw an older gentleman point and send out a young man who came out and his first words "I don't know if anyone told you guys or not but we're by appointment only" We said we didn't know, he looked at the car? And said are you looking at this car; My wife answered, "Yes," and he asked, and do you want to test drive it? My Wife answered "Yes" Well, our next appointment is at 2:45 pm, and he gave us his card. I wanted to get the car for my wife, but he never asked where we were from, how far we drove, or anything. She had no interest after being treated that way repeatedly at this Car Dealer, I told her sometimes we know we have to swallow our pride and overlook the way we have been treated if she wanted the car, but she said she just preferred not to give them our money to pay them to treat us like that. And how were we to know it's by appointment only? I didn't see that information on Edmunds when I saw the advertisement, but we saw the ad earlier in the week and didn't have a chance until Saturday to go view the car.

Extremely pleased!

by Mary on 01/27/2019

My husband and I were looking for a new car to replace one that we had driven for years. Getting rid of it was difficult, and we had no clue what the next perfect car would be for our family of 5. Thomas Wells contacted me shortly after I inquired about a car that I had found on their website. Although that specific car sold before I was able to make it out for a test drive, Thomas made it his priority to find us another car that would not only be equivalent to the unavailable model, but even more suitable for my family’s needs. He was nothing but patient with us as we test drove 3 different cars, asked a ton of questions, and needed several days to make up our minds. By far the easiest sales person we’ve ever had a car buying experience with. Thanks Thomas!

Outstanding!

This is the second time I have traveled from Maryland to Winston Salem to purchase a car at this dealership! I have received, both times, excellent care and attention, professionalism and a wonderfully fun car buying experience. I would like to recognize both Salem and Belinda for creating the kind of atmosphere that not only makes you feel welcomed but also valued and part of the family. Those two ladies made the trip so worth while as they guided me through the car-buying experience with ease and comfort. All my questions were answered, we enjoyed each other immensely and I would recommend this dealership and specifically those two lovely ladies to everyone I know. They get a 100+% from me! Thank you, Rob, for offering such terrific cars and having Salem and Belinda on your sales team!

OUTSTANDING

by jonig24 on 02/17/2018

I bought a used car front this dealership this past week. The staff there were so friendly!! I felt like everyone there went above and beyond what was expected. Thomas was the nice gentleman that sold the car to me. He was so patient with me while I was debating on making my decision. I decided to buy the car and while I was doing paperwork, my mom was there waiting on me and they offered to wash her car and she didn't even buy it from there! When I went there the next day to get my car, I noticed a couple of scratches on the hood but another extremely nice salesman named Scott, went and fixed those scratches AND he even fixed another part that was coming off. All in all, my experience with the Volvo dealership was EXCELLENT! They exceeded my expectations and I would recommend this to anyone looking for a new or used car. You will not be disappointed. EVERYONE is there to help you including the nice woman at the front desk. They also have warm cookies, coffee, drinks, and fruit!

You don't go to them, they come to you

by babsbarr on 06/29/2016

When I had a problem with my 2013 Volvo S60, Volvo of the Triad sent Dale Eason from Winston-Salem to my home in Raleigh to pick up my car to take back to Winston, leaving me a loaner to drive. Upon resolution of my problem,(I chose not to have the work done at this time), the very next day, Dale Eason returned to my home with my Volvo and then back to Winston with the loaner. I have never had service like this with any other dealer in my life. Not only was Dale knowledgeable and professional, but very helpful, in addition to having a great personality. He even showed me how to connect my smart phone to my Volvo. Where else can you get this kind of service? I highly recommend this Volvo dealership, and especially Dale Eason!!

Careless Mechanic Left Rag Under the Hood in a Critical Spot

by joester81 on 01/26/2012

So, I was warned by a few local people and friends to not buy a car from Volvo of the Triad, and I readily took that advice - the stories I heard were some of the worse - and bought my Volvo elsewhere. However, I thought: what is the harm in going to get routine maintenance check-up? Well, the harm was handing my perfect vehicle over to a very careless and negligent staff. My car that ran perfectly fine started to have very odd troubles just a few days out; after a couple of weeks, and a new rotten egg smell inside, my car died. I opened the hood to find a rag that was covering part of the device used to cool the battery. Ok, simple right? I called the dealership to let them know that one of their mechanics left a rag in a critical place. They did not deny this; instead, service manager, Joe Williams, insisted that it was not a big deal and would not have any impact on the battery. After getting a second, third...and fifth opinion, it was obvious that the rag did cause the issues with the battery and perhaps a larger issue, like the catalytic converter. They refused to fix what they had broken unless we paid for it, which I did not want to have to pay for their carelessness. After speaking with the GM, Rob Satter - also the owner's son - he agreed with Joe Williams. He was oblivious to the fact that his workers ultimately made a cavalier mistake, and he felt no accountability to fix it, nor ensure that the damage has not gone beyond the battery. I implore you to really heed these negative reviews as warning: Volvo of the Triad is NOT a reputable dealership, and they want your money not your loyalty. Reading some of the positive reviews makes me wonder if someone at their facility has to write them to counter all of the negative responses that they get. I don't know anyone locally who has anything positive to say about them. They have let me down as a customer, and may have ruined my first car.

Great Service!

by baileysdad on 10/28/2009

I recently purchased a 2004 Volvo S80 out of state. I noticed a noice in the rear driving it home and feared I might have a serious problem. I dropped by Volvo of the Triad late the next day on the way to the grocery store to ask them what they thought it might be. I did not think they would be able to get to it at 4:30 in the afternoon. The technican (Joey) stayed late to look at it. He diagnosed the problem as a bad shock. They gave me a loan to go to the store while he repaired it. When I returned it was ready to go with a car wash! Great service!

Taking Care of Customers is Not a Lost Art at Volvo Of The Triad

by jck1452 on 10/20/2009

As a former domestic automobile company employee and former diehard owner of several domestically made vehicles, I thought I knew, from an automotive perspective, what a quality car and car company was all about. One day, some time ago, I saw a very intriguing newspaper article that touted the quality of it's cars and the service it's customers all seemed to brag about. At that time in my life, I was pretty confident that I was going to stay loyal to my former and preferred brand of car, up to my dying days until I ran headlong into two life changing events. Both events were related to our two primary family vehicles. Our four-door car and full-sized truck both developed catastrophic maintenance issues that the dealership would not acknowledge or help us remedy, despite the inherent warranty, my affiliations and their ability to issue some form of "good will." That saga ended with my family's complete dis-enchantment with that "Car Company" and the product line they sell and still claim to support. I came to Volvo of the Triad in search of a higher quality car and a car company I trust. I found what I was looking for. Eight years and six cars ago I embarked on a journey that continues to provide me and my family with that coveted "piece of mind," a great deal of resolve, confidence and a true understanding of what it means to be "taken care of!" At the Winston-Salem based Volvo Dealership, the simple but very essential character traits I sought then and know of very well today are promulgated and reinforced by the Dealership Principle, Rob Satter, and his Son, Rob Junior. Both Rob and his Dad are engaged at every level of the Dealership because they care enough to be....and you will not have to look very hard for telltale signs, because they are very obvious. One such reflection of their engagement, as small as it may seem, says a lot to me about who they are and what they consider important. It unfolds almost in a compulsory way when I walk past their offices on the way to the coffee machine. Usually, one or both of them will step out from behind their desk into the showroom area and say something genuinely nice, very cordially shake my hand and call me by may name. The authentic professionalism they exhibit reminds me of many of the former business relationships my Dad use to speak of back in the 1970s. The Sales, Service, Parts and Finance Departments all follow suite with that same outward appeal to customers. Can't say enough good things about the following Dealership Representatives because it would exceed the posted space limits, but when or if you come to your senses about cars and a Dealership that knows and subscribe to the simple and very grounded tenants that revolve around taking care of their customers, you will learn what I have, first hand. If you make it to the Volvo of the Triad Dealership before my next oil change please say "hey" to t Bob Tickle, Ameer Watkins, Doug Brunswick, Les Young, Jasmine James, Darla Satter and Heather Satter, the Dealer Representative that help me realize, every time I am there, that high-calibured people like that really make the difference at the Volvo of the Triad Volvo Dealership! Thanks again for all that you do for my family and my two new cars! Best Regards, John K

Never Experienced a Better Car Purchase

by btteller on 10/17/2009

When my husband and I were looking for a Volvo we contacted several dealers online. The store in Greensboro treated us like we were "just looking" and would not send a quote. Charlotte did not even respons. Not only did Volvo of the Triad respond to our inquiries, they offered an outstanding quote. But, the XC60 with all the equipment we wanted wasn't in stock. They went out of their way to find the car for us, and then sent a truck to pick it up so we didn't get a car with excessive transportation miles on it. The sales staff was extremely friendly and very low pressure. They were more interested in our complete satisfaction than in selling us something. I would recommend this dealership to anyone. They are honest, fair, and the best dealer we ever bought a car from.

BEST BUYING EXPERIENCE WE EVER HAD

by golfpro7 on 05/31/2009

I have just had yet another great experience at Volvo of the Triad with my recent purchase of a 2010 XC60. I have now purchased three Volvo's in the past six years from this dealer. They have always had a great selection and when my wife wanted a particular color XC90 they actually sent their truck to pick it up for her. When my daughter graduated from college, we decided to buy her a Volvo S40. I shopped around to keep them honest and got my best price from their Internet guy right off the bat. The Greensboro dealer's price was much higher and one Charlotte dealer didn't even respond! We have found them to be honest and fair in all our dealings with them. They are responsive and their customer service is over the top. The folks in the service department are also the best. I would strongly recommend this dealership to anyone looking for a new or used Volvo.

!!! AVOID THIS DISHONEST DEALER !!!

by ncmax on 11/06/2008

Please take my advice and avoid Volvo of the Triad at all costs. My wife and I purchased a new 2008 Volvo C30 from them in October, and our sales person completely and totally lied to get our business. The details are as follows: As part of the final negotiations for the purchase of the car, we requested that the 17" wheels and tires that came on the car be exchanged for the more attractive 18" Atreus wheels and higher performance 18" tires. The sales person agreed and repeatedly assured us that this wheel swap would absolutely be no problem. After we took delivery, I kept in touch with him regularly for updates as to when the wheels and tires for the swap would arrive. He kept saying, "We just haven't received another car with those wheels yet, but they should be here soon." He finally gave me a date of November 10th, 2008, and said he everything approved with management. As it turns out this was all a complete lie. As it also turns out, he is no longer employed at Volvo of the Triad, how convenient. The only reason I bought the car from Volvo of the Triad was their willingness to exchange the wheels, I actually had a slightly better deal at another area dealership, however they would not swap the wheels, so I chose to purchase from Volvo of the Triad, what a mistake! I have tried repeatedly to professionally resolve this matter with Volvo of the Triad, so far they have taken the position of "too bad, so sad". They constantly remind me of what a great dealership they are, "number one in customer satisfaction" and all that, but for some reason I am far from satisfied. Of course I feel like a complete idiot, as I trusted the salesperson and the relied on the integrity of the dealership (what was I thinking)! I had only a verbal agreement with the salesperson, and the only supporting testimony to my "claim" was that the business representative that prepared the financial paperwork was privy to some of the details of the agreement with the salesperson, the sales manager confirmed this with her, however it still does not change their position. For the "icing on the cake", the air conditioning stopped working two weeks after we took delivery, and the car went in for repairs which took about a week, the car was in the shop over the weekend. When we got the car back it had about 220 extra miles we cannot account for, and that "new car smell" we all like, has been replaced with the smell of cigarette smoke. Nice! Sorry for the length of this post but in short... AVOID, AVOID, AVOID, THIS [violative content deleted] DEALERSHIP!!!!
