Dishonest and Unethical

onOne star is too many but that is the least you may choose. I could write a book on how awful this dealer's service department is. Ford should shut them down. After they left my 2013 F150 sitting in their dirt field and dented my bumper and drove it for several miles without doing any work on it I towed it to another dealer who had to spend 3 weeks correcting all the damage this dealer did with their previous repair.

onvisited dealership, looking to buy a truck. Had researched online and knew model, amenities, trim level and accessory package I wanted. Salesman took name & number and said he would call if he found one. Left that lot and drove directly to another dealership where a very friendly and helpful salesman immediately found the truck I wanted, we signed and the deal was done before sundown. Don't waste your time at Jones Ford.

onVisited dealership in process of looking to buy a truck. Had researched models, trim levels, accessories. Salesman went to no effort to find the truck for me. Got my name & number & said he would look for it and call me. Went directly to a different dealership. Salesman there found what I was looking for and the paperwork was signed before sundown.

Predatory and Deceptive Service Pricing

onWhile out of town my F150 had a problem. I took it to Jones Ford in Shallotte, NC. I was advised that an $80 + diagnostic fee would be charged and I agreed. Fifteen minutes later my truck was ready. I was not advised what the problem was or if I approved of the cost before the repair was made. A coil was replaced and I was presented with a $280 bill. About $80 was the part cost and about $80 was labor. At the bottom (in small print) was a $10 "shop supply fee" charge. When I asked the cashier about it she told me "all invoices have that fee". I paid the bill and left because the earliest time I could get an appointment with Jones was 1:30 in the afternoon which made me late returning home. I called the service manager the next day about the amount of labor charged for about 10 minutes of actual work and the $10 "supply fee". He was rude and accusatory as if I had no right to ask about the amounts or reasons for them. I called the general manager the next day with no luck. The general manager actually told me that the Harley Davidson motorcycle in the showroom was his and he had $7,000 worth or work done to it by a local Harley dealer and never once asked about the cost and "just paid it". I will walk home before ever returning to Jones Ford because in my opinion they prey on those who find themselves with no other choice and over charge them. Jones Ford's business practices will cause me to think twice before buying another Ford product. I think Ford should set a higher standard for its dealers and not leave their customers to deal with the Jones Ford type service.
