New Subaru Car Experience

I had the pleasure of picking up my first Subaru from the Gregoris Dealership in Valley Stream. I was welcomed the minute I walked into the dealership and after speaking with my salesman, Shafiq, I made the decision to purchase one of their cars. I had been looking at the Crosstrek, but after driving the Outback and hearing wonderful information about the car from Shafiq, I made the decision to purchase the Outback. It has been around one month now, and I couldn't be happier. They have a great customer service and have followed up several times already to see how I like the car. I had visited several other Subaru dealers, but totally recommend the VS Gregoris as the best on Long Island.

A very friendly place to service your car. They take the time to cheche out your problem and resolve it in a speedy manner. They also provided me with transportation to and from my home which was very nice of them.

Subaru Service and Parts

I could not be more satisfied with the service department and parts department of Subaru in Valley Stream, NY. They treat you as family and aim to please. Peter from service and Elvis from parts totally resolved my problem and went above and beyond the call of duty to resolve my situation where I lost my key fob. It is service people like Peter from service and Elvis from parts that will always make me choose Subaru as my number 1 vehicle.

Warning!! Horrible Customer Service!!

I am the owner of a 2012 Subaru Outback. While on vacation in the New York area, my check engine light came on. I suspected a loose gas cap, but the check engine light did not go off even after securing the gas cap. As I still had about 800 miles to drive on my vacation, I thought I’d get it checked out and Gregoris Subaru/Nissan in Valley Stream was closest to me at the moment so I drove there. I arrived at 3:30 on a Wednesday afternoon. As I tried to explain my situation, the 3 service advisors cut me off and told me flatly that their mechanics were about to go home (the service department was supposed to be open until 6pm!) and that they would not be able to check my car until 2 days later. The 3 service advisors did not budge from their seats and made no efforts whatsoever to discuss or reassure me regarding my situation. I ended up driving a few miles up the road to AutoZone, where in 5 minutes and at no charge, they plugged into my car’s diagnostics and found that it was likely a loose gas cap and not some other major problem. With this reassurance, I continued on my vacation and the check engine light eventually went off. So – Gregoris Subaru/Nissan couldn’t take 5 lousy minutes to help out a Subaru owner in some distress while on vacation while Autozone could??!! I found their 3 service advisors to be unfriendly, dismissive, unprofessional, uncaring and rude. My 2 minutes in their office was probably the worst customer service experience that I can recall in my life (I am in my mid-50s). It makes me wonder what kinds of standards Subaru expects from their dealers and will make me much less likely to purchase another Subaru in the future. Anyone considering this Gregoris Subaru/Nissan should think twice and read additional reviews elsewhere. It is obvious that I’m not the only one who has had a horrible experience with Gregoris Subaru/Nissan. I suggest that you avoid this place like the plague!!

Service is ok- Service center needs to be remodeled!

I have been to Subaru service several times over the last few years. Only certain service writers are friendly, the others are just always in a rush & do not make you feel like your time is valuable. The work performed was good, I never had any real problems with the quality of the work. The service center needs to be upgraded & expanded, badly! The waiting area is cramped & when you need to discuss things with the service writer in person, you are all out in the open. There is no privacy. Gregoris also needs to start offering loaner vehicles for any work done including warranty, oil changes, etc.. They do have a shuttle but not convenient. If Gregoris started to offer loaner vehicles, I will definitely come into their service area more often.

I am on my 3rd Subaru from Gregoris Motors. When I was in the market several years ago for a new car, I wanted a Subaru & searched high & dry in the tri state area all to have a dismal experience with other dealers. Gregoris was my last stop & final destination for a Subaru since! Jeff is great, he is a no nonsense & easy going sales person. NO PRESSURE & NO ATTITUDE. Pricing is also very fair given they are a small dealership with limited inventory. If you are in the market for a Subaru, try Gregoris Motors & deal with Jeff Katz.

Wanted to Buy, But Couldn't

I took a trip out to Gregoris Nissan to buy a 2011 Nissan Juke SL. They had the exact car I wanted. Before going, I asked them to pull it out of the showroom so that I could drive it away. When I got to the dealership, the car was still on the showroom floor. I was assured, no worries, we'll pull it out, let's go do paperwork. I was fine with paying MSRP, have excellent credit and was going to put 50% down - so no issues expected there. After a bunch of back and forth, the guy (Mike) tells me that I can't take the car today because "the DMV lady isn't in." He said that I could buy it, but that I would have to come back the next day to get it. Well, I work and I don't have time for that. I'll also be traveling, so I won't have time to come back there for at least two and a half weeks. He says that there's nothing he can do, I say, why did you waste my time in the first place, etc etc. Overall, a huge waste of my Sunday afternoon. Just absolutely amazing to me that I was ready to buy, didn't want to haggle the price and this guy still couldn't sell me a car. So, now I'm looking for the car closer to home - someone who will actually sell me the car and let me drive off with it.
