onI’ve bought a WRX and an STi from Romano. My sister and friend have also purchased Subarus here. None of us have ever had a bad experience or shoddy work performed.

Borzou and Joel at Romano Subaru are OUTSTANDING!
by 06/30/2018
onBorzou and Joel went above beyond to get me the Impreza Wagon Sport I wanted in the price I needed. All the other dealerships throughout NYS, western VT, western MA, and central NJ couldn’t even come close. There was no hassle, what they quoted was what they honored and it was the smoothest car buying experience ever. It is worth the drive from Albany without a doubt! This is our 3rd car from Romano Subaru and not our last!

New Purchase
by 01/25/2018
onMy wife and I purchased a new Forester last week. Our sales consultant was Mark Richardson and he was excellent. We have purchased many new vehicles over the years and this was by far our most pleasant experience. Mark and the business manager did not pressure us in any way. We were very impressed with Romano Subaru. Tom Gibbons

Subaru # 2.....and counting
by 08/10/2017
onMy wife and I recently purchased an Outback from Romano Subaru. This is our second vehicle from this dealer and the purchase experience was similar to the first. Joe Berry was terrific, he took the time to explain all the feature of the vehicle, which can be overwhelming and did not push us to purchase. I was out of town for a week on business and when I returned my wife was ready to "pull the trigger" and we headed back to Romano to finish the deal. We had a change of heart on the color of the vehicle and added a couple of options but Joe didn't miss a beat. We negotiated and arrived at an agreeable price and picked up the new Outback a few days later. The process was smooth and we look forward to Subaru # 3 in a few years!

Amazing Experience for First Time Subaru Buyer
by 07/14/2017
onI recently purchased my very first Subarau, a 2016 Legacy from Tony Hill!!! As I walked into Romano Subaru, I looked for the least "salesy" looking person I could find, and it helped to be Tony who simply smiled and said "Hi Guys! Welcome to Romano Subaru!" So I introduced myself and my father who was with me that day, and told him exactly what I was looking for, a Forester or Departed, because I wanted a lot of room, but I was also looking or something practical and with decent gas mileage. I also have him my budget, and we were off. He showed us each of the vehicles that I was interested in, and asked if inwould mind looking at a Legacy, because he thought I might like that even better. I obliged, and then decided that I'd rather only test drive the Legacy and the Forested. I drove both and low and behold, chose the Legacy! I love that Tony knew exactly what the perfect fit for my son and I would be, and he couldn't have been more spot on!!!! He took everything thing I told him, showed me what I wanted, offered something else, and never made me feel pressured into one over the other. Not only does the Legacy have more than enough room, the gas milage is (obiously) better than that of the Forester, and financially, I got a newer car with many less miles for much less than I expected. Tony really went above and beyond to put every financial figure out on the table, go over every situation and get me in to my PERFECT car, while keeping me within my budget and leaving me feeling great about my purchase! I can't thank Tony and Romano Subaru enough!! I will certainly be recommending them to friends and family and will be a returning customer for sure!!!

Low balling [non-permissible content removed]
by 07/29/2016
onI would take your business elsewhere. They will low ball you on a trade in to the point it's almost like they are stealing from their customers. They are not transparent with information as far securing a vehicle if you are coming in from out of town and will fail to tell you to put money down on the vehicle or they will sell it on you while you're actively on your way to make the purchase. I was literally on my way driving an hour to get to their dealership to buy the car we made an agreement on that morning and they sold it on me as I was driving. Then they tried to give me the same car different color with more miles and less options for the same price and even went back on there deal for my trade and told me they would not give me the original agreed upon price. Save yourself the headache and the cash in your pocket and take your business elsewhere because there are some great dealerships out there and this is not one of them. They are [non-permissible content removed] to say the least!

Will never go back to Romano
by 11/30/2015
onI am very disappointed with this dealer for one. They are so nice to you until you decide the vehicle isn't for you or that you can't afford it. They keep telling you that you can but they do not know your financial situation. My husband and I got treated like garbage when we had to say we didn't want the vehicle. The sales manager did nothing but yell at us and call us names. Very unprofessional. Highly disappointed.

Friendly, No Pressure Sale
by 04/06/2015
onSalesperson (Ulas) was very knowledgeable about several vehicles I was comparing and spoke positively about most - a refreshing approach rather than putting down other makes and models - and cited many of the comparisons I had already read about in Consumer Reports, etc. He had clearly done his homework and remembered what he had read. I knew what I was looking for and the salesperson did not try to lead me in a different direction, but did lay out options for consideration. Ulas was very helpful in working with our busy schedule that does not allow for much idle time. Delivery was well organized and efficient. This is our first Subaru and we are off to a great start. Thank you for a courteous, efficient, and knowledgeable purchasing experience!

outstanding experience
by 03/05/2015
onOur purchase of a used Honda Fit was a very pleasing experience. We got a very good deal and even though there was a small glitch in having the car serviced and ready for delivery on the day we were to pick up the car this dealer stepped up and went well above and beyond to make things right. I would reccomend this dealer to anyone looking for a new car.

FIRST SUBARU PURCHASE
by 07/02/2013
onOur new-car lease experience at Romano's Subaru was professional, pleasant and completely opposite those described in the negative reviews. It makes me wonder if the bad reviews came from Romano's competition. Here are the "nuts and bolts" of our buying experience: My wife and I live in Fort Drum, and she commutes to Adams daily. Our SUV was killing the budget at 15 mpg, so we started researching for a more economical car that would be safe during the harsh winters. We test drove every suitable model in this area. We decided on a leased 2013 Subaru Impreza, which ranked #1 as far as safety, performance and value. This is our first Subaru, and I'd never driven one before. We've had it for a month now, just past the breaking-in period. The Impreza surprised me as it even out performs the handling of a previous BMW I used to own. The suspension makes it handle like a dream, and surprisingly has plenty of power from its 2.0 liter engine. 34-36mpg is nice too:) As far as my wife is concerned, she likes driving it. The interior space and hatch back option makes it perfect for shopping and going to garage sales. There's even addl room for a cooler in the back. Pleasant, Fast, and Easy best describe the buying experience with Mike G. and Bill N. (salesmen). It was nice to get the best deal, completed, without spending a whole day haggling. In fact we got the deal we wanted and were finished in only 2 hrs. Mike G. showed us the car, and gave us the best price with a payment that works fine for a military (enlisted) salary. The other salesman, Bill N., helped with delivery of the vehicle, and it wasn't even his deal! Borzou, general manager, met with us too. He is a soft-spoken, nice guy-opposite a previous review describing him as rude to women. My wife is timid, yet she felt comfortable working out details with him while I was looking around the showroom (he was not intimidating or rude). Their entire team was professional and left a good impression, and we plan on doing business with them again at the end of our 3-yr lease. Bottom line-I would highly recommend Romano's Subaru to anyone looking for the best vehicle and value in Northern NY.

2nd time around another bad experience
by 11/21/2012
onWe made a very serious error going back to this dealer for another Subaru. We love the Subaru but the dealer was again, very deceiving. Dealer called us offering early incentive on a lease, promised to pay remaining lease payments. They never paid final payment and we are pursuing legal remedies. In my opinion they have a very bad habit of returning calls only when convenient to them. We will never deal with them again. Would not recommend this dealership to anyone.

Great buying/service experience
by 05/17/2011
onWe recently purchased our 2nd Subaru Outback from Romano Subaru. The buying experience was terrific. The salesman was upfront with all pricing and responded directly to all of my questions. All aspects of the sale were covered and nothing was left to interpretation. He went above and beyond and worked hard to make sure that my trade in was not upside down and actually came in a bit over Blue Book on the trade. Dealing with Romano has always been a pleasure and whether I'm working with the sales, parts or service team I am always treated with a great deal of respect and get the impression that they all sincerely appreciate my business. Mr. Dave Romano has put together a great team at his dealership. In the auto business I imagine it's very difficult to please everyone all the time but my experience has proven that they try very hard to do this. The car was ready well in advance of promised pick up time and the 2009 Outback with 31K on her looked like a brand new car. She was spotless inside and out. At the time of pick up the salesman made sure everything that he promised had been done to my complete satisfaction. If you are thinking about buying a "Subie" give the folks at Romano Subaru a try. I found it very refreshing to do business at this dealership.

very unhappy
by 08/20/2010
onIn the begining the experiance was good. They told us one thing and when we went in to close the deal we were told something else. After failed attempts to reach our sales person ( called all day and got no call back) I decided this was not a good fit and cancelled the deal. The sales person called my husband, yelled at him and the manager tried to say he did one thing when it didn't happen. This is my 2nd dealing with a Romano dealership and should remember that they screwed us over the last time. Never again.

Be Careful with this Dealership
by 11/03/2009
onThe buying experience itself was not bad for us when we leased a Subaru in July of 2009. The follow up experience after a serious mistake made by the dealership was awful. Dealership failed to adhere to contractual promise to pay off an existing lease after we took possession of our new Subaru. When they finally paid off the previous lease it was already 45 days late which seriously affected our credit rating with the credit bureau. When we attempted to get help rectifying the situation from the Sales Manager we were met with basic used car salesman negotiating tactics as if we were trying to buy a new vehicle. The Sales Manager has not stuck to his commitment to rectify the situation for us with the credit bureau and we are stuck with this negative credit rating on our credit report. I would not recommend this dealership as the Sales Manager cannot be trusted to follow up in an appropriate manner with mistakes made by his dealership.

Just another tricky car dealer
by 11/28/2007
onI went to perchase a 2006 Subaru Outback, I had looked up the pricing of the vehicle on the iinternet as well as the trade in value of my vehicle. I has already arrianged my financing so it was just a matter of making a deal for my trade in. I was floored when the dealer stated that my vehicle was worth half the value I had researched on the internet. I could not believe that the dealership would ecspect someone to sell a vehicle to them at half its value. I think that they must have some kind of a secert book that tells them the value of cars that the consumer is not aware of. I get to upset at dealers who coome off with the smug attitude that if you don't like the deal [violative content deleted] off. This is exactely the attitude I received from them. The worst part of the experiance is when the sales person hinted that I had made a mistake by purchasing the type of vehice I had ( a 2006 Dodge Dekota ST). If you are shopping at Romano's beaware that they do not think the internet provide factual information on the worth of you trade in.
