Be Afraid be Very Afraid

I bought a used 2016 Jeep Grand Cherokee in Feb 2019. Let me say at the outset that the staff both sales and service are nice, but nice doesn"t get things done. So the dealership claims they do a muti point check before putting a car out on the used car lot. The following was my experience. After buying the car I was driving from the dealership when a warning light letting me know the Key FOB was low on battery. Not such a big deal except that the dealership only gave me 1 FOB I had to return to the dealership on a certain day and time to have a new one. Pulling on to my driveway the 2nd warning comes on. Car needs an oil change. I called the dealership and they they probably forgot to re set the oil change gauge. Next, on a rainy day I put my rear wiper on It kept hitting the top of the car and almost at the same time the engine start stop light stayed on. I returned to the dealership the service staff said RE: the wiper, that sometimes the mechanic will put a Durango wiper on instead. I asked the staff if the mechanics knew the difference between a Durang and a Cherokee...he just smiled. OK so what about the Stop Start light that will not go out. I told him I will be taking the car to Florida. He said it will not affect the car you are good to go. So.....here I am in Florida and I go to my car and it will not start. I had to call for a jump, which was done, and I immediately went to a Jeep dealership near where I was staying because everything on the U Connect was out as well. The service rep heard my story and went out to my car and plugged in his gizmo to see what is wrong. He said it was the battery. Once the battery is in everything should be in order (even the Stop Start indicator. The reason the light (Stop Start) went on to begin with, he explained was an indicator of a weak battery. Why didn't SmithHaven know this. The battery was installed and everything works. By the way I was told that the battery had been leaking. The service was done in less than 1 hour from the time I drove into the dealership in FL until I got in my car to leave. I guess I can cancel my appointment with SmithHaven which is scheduled for mid April. 1 1/2 months from when I had the wiper changed. So, does Smith Haven do a multi Point check on preowned cars? Be afraid be very afraid

Horrible Customer Service

This dealership has the worst customer service I have seen. After offering a price that was out of my budget I declined their offer and left the dealership. I was contacted 4 times the following day via voicemail because I was at work. They stated they wanted the business and would work to get me into the vehicle. This was before speaking to anyone that could make that decision. The price did not change from what was offered the first time. I declined the offer again, and received another phone call from the salesperson again stating they want my business. Called twice after that to speak to a manager who was unavailable. Left my number twice with no call back. This was a horrible experience with terrible customer service.

Smithhaven could not get the real deal done ..They need to rework there nonsense slogan if its not a smithhaven deal it a real deal ..Wasted my time there after 3 hours I went to port Jefferson jeep made same offer same vehicle they excepted my offer in 10 min.. Love my jeep don't like smithhaven jeep ..Only one saving there is Sasslow the owner. .

I came into Smithaven Dodge and Jeep to get myself out of a sticky situation. I was paying for a car that was not worth it’s value and I began to run into mechanical issues which became coastly. This is where I met Troy. He was instantly up for the challenge and was very patient and knowledgeable as I asked a million questions. His kindness, knowledge and persistence allowed me to know I was making the correct decision. Ultimatly, I purchased the car of my dreams for less than the car I came in with.

We worked with Chris Mora on the sale of our Dodge Ram! We couldn't be happier. Not only was Chris professional, but he was honest and sincere as well. He was very personable, and he answered all of my questions to beyond my satisfaction. He is very knowledgeable about the cars he is selling and he also is very familiar with all their different features. Also, he is VERY good at helping "crunch to numbers" to help you find the best truck for your budget. Chris showed us several different vehicles until we found the one that was perfect for us! When we decided to commit to purchasing our 2015 Dodge Ram 1500 we were pleased and beyond satisfied with our car buying experience! Additionally, Roy from the finance department was pleasant, knowledgeable, very helpful and easy to work with. I would highly recommend working with Chris Mora when you are looking to buy your next truck\car. I can't write enough positive things about the experience with the team at Smith Haven from the initial order of our new 2018 Wrangler JL right through delivery. Alex made the order process seamless and getting the vehicle in a mere 6 weeks and putting us in the capable hands of Mike Horan. All of the paperwork financing included took a few clicks and emails. Upon arrival our new Jeep was fully prepped, Mike walked me through the features (quite a change from 6 wranglers ago with our CJ). I highly recommend Smith Haven and their great team if you are considering a Jeep (would imagine the same for any of their brands)

Dishonesty

Let's keep this simple. Check their math and do not let them alter the discount / rebate mix. Hold your ground or walk out. Don't know what their end game is but more rebate and less discount leaves the total reduction the same but one pays more in sales tax. Perhaps they are charging the customers tax and not reporting. Don't know, don't care, but it is wrong to do to customers. Also, definitely get everything in writing or walk out. Handshakes do not work in Smith Haven Chrysler Jeep Dodge Ram!! If they are adding mats or wheel locks or whatever, ensure it is in writing on their paperwork or you may lose. Best option, try another dealership!!!!

I was just in the process for looking into buying a car. I live about an hour away so I decided to call and see if the car was available to be looked at. When I arrived, the car was waiting outside to be seen. I meet my sales representative, Bobby. Bobby was so informative and a pleasure to talk too. He answered all of my questions and made my first experience buying a car so easy. He made sure the car was everything I ever wanted, plus more!!! Needless to say I bought the car that day!
