Easy car buying experience!

I have been having my 2005 Camry serviced at Vanderstyne since I it was handed down to me from my parents (they bought and had maintenance done there.) I went in to look at the 2016 Camry and had to have it! I purchased the Camry XSE which has a sunroof, push button start, and heated seats- a "must have" for Rochester!! Tom Petrie was my salesperson. He gave me the best price upfront without all of the back and forth stuff. I saw the discounts and my pricing on paper- nothing that was later added on. Thank you. I love my new Camry!

A Very Good Sales Experience

The salesman was able to answer all of my questions about the car and allowed me to road test a number of different types of vehicles. When it came time to buy, he located the exact configuration of vehicle I wanted out of state and was able to have it driven here in a couple of days. There were no surprises on the day I came in to pay for and pick up the car. I would take off 1/2 star, because they initially tried to tell me that MSRP was the price for the car and there was no "wiggle room". I fairly easily "wiggled" them down to a little under Edmund's "True Market Value" ($1150 below MSRP), using price quotes solicited from other local dealers. Vanderstyne was my preferred choice, because of proximity to home and because I trust their service department.

Excellent new car sales experience

Recently I purchased a new car at Vanderstyne Toyota. I have purchased many new cars in years past and this one was one of the better if not best new car sales experience I have had. As I normally do, I researched cars via Edmonds on-line and Consumer Reports, determining the type of car, reliability, price range and associated costs for the cars which includes MSRP / Dealer Costs for car and equiptment. After some test drives, I keyed in on Toyota due to their end-of-year sales promotions. I presented 'my numbers' from Edmunds, after a test drive, at a local Toyota dealership and did not have a good experience. It was now at the end of December 2012 and soon closing of the 'year-end' Toyota promos. On Thursday Dec. 27, 2012, I phoned another local dealer, Vanderstyne Toyota on W. Ridge Rd, Rochester, NY and spoke to Sales Consultant Tom. He was relatively new to Vanderstyne sales team but had worked in the past for other dealerships. I told Tom the new car and color I desired and gave him 'my numbers'. He understood and presented my buying process to his manager. He did have the desired car in stock and we spoke about Trade-in as well as alternatives. Later that day, Tom got back to me, presented me with his offer and confirmed all in an email the same day. The price was very fair and matched the cost numbers I had from Edmonds. The next Day, Friday Dec. 28th, my wife & I came over to Vanderstyne and test drove the car. Later that day I called Tom and told him offer was good and to prepare all the paperwork, including loan application. Next day, Saturday, Dec. 29th, 2012, I met Tom at Vanderstyne and signed all the paperwork, including approved loan, 0% interest part of end-of-year promotion. Next business day, Monday Dec. 31. 2012 at 1:00 PM, I picked up my shiny new 2013 White Toyota Corolla S! Tom patiently showed myself and my wife all the 'gadgets' on our new Toyota and I drove home my new shiny white Toyota in a snow storm. Tom was not able to control the weather. It was a very pleasant, 'painless' and quick New Car Sales Experince. I would certianly go back to Vanderstyne Toyota and Tom!

STAY AWAY!

While things started out great buying a new Toyota from Vanderstyne, it quickly turned into a fiasco! Delivery of the vehicle was promised 4 times over 10 days, and 4 times they called to say "Oops, sorry, you can't have it today either." Finally, they promised to deliver it to our house but my father would have had to then drive the salesman to Syracuse, which is an hour away. He ended up meeting them 1/2 way, but still had to drive to Syracuse and then home. The last delay was because they needed an extra day for detailing. How much detailing does a brand new vehicle need? One thing it did need was to have the plastic protectant removed from the top, which we noticed was still there after we got it home. Other problems with them are too involved to go into here, but pretty much everything they say is a lie. Excuse me, they call them "misunderstandings". Suffice it to say that they don't care about anything after they cash the check! Zero follow up or customer service! Well, they did send a congratulations balloon... Worst car buying experience ever!
