Good experience

by carguy on 03/27/2018

Living in a small town I'm used to doing business with one guy who does everything from sales to financing. It's somewhat intimidating to walk into larger dealer showrooms that are so much busier and have specialists for everything. Must admit my distrust for this type of dealer causes me to be suspicious of every transaction. Recently I purchased my second vehicle from Thruway Nissan who fits the above category. I questioned some finance things that didn't feel right but these folks were quick to provide satisfactory answers increasing my comfort level. Either they employ the best actors or are truly sincere in their efforts to satisfy a customer. I didn't feel any pressure to make a purchase. Prior to leaving with our new vehicle I was introduced to another party wanting to know if I had a positive experience. My goodness, how often do you get that kind of treatment anywhere? I have no idea how good their service is living far enough away to make it inconvenient. But not so far as to want to ignore the value they regularly provide on a new vehicle purchase. I'd definitely encourage anyone in the market for a new vehicle to give them a try.

Flawless sales experience

by JasonR on 11/28/2017

Just wanted to drop a note and say how pleased I was recently with a vehicle purchase from Thruway Nissan. Flawless and easy transaction from start to finish. Sales: David was awesome and very easy going, zero pressure and made it feel like I was at home. Finance: Michael was awesome to deal with and very personable. I’d recommend Thruway to anyone looking for a great sales experience. Thank you!!

Great Dealership

by JB on 11/13/2017

I helped my parents buy there new Altima from here, and they were so easy to deal with. We told the salesman Jay what we wanted and he got it done, with the help of his sales manager Travis. I will definitly buy my next car from Thruway Nissan.

Beware of this dealer

by hunter65 on 09/07/2017

By far, the worst experience. Went to dealership, to take advantage of their ad online. It said $99 down, guaranteed approval, or we'll give you $500 cash. They also claim that credit approval, is not based on your FICO score. Neither one is true. The proof that it's based on your FICO score, is the amount of your payment for the month. If your credit isn't "perfect", you'll be paying a pretty substantial sum every month. Now, I was denied my "guaranteed credit approval", because my sister in law, who was going to co-sign, gave the finance person, a bad review. Needless to say, I never got that $500 cash, and I haven't even gotten my down payment back, although they said I would get it back, a week, and a half ago. The down payment was given to them on the first of August, and it's now the seventh of September. This will not go unchallenged.

Mike ( the mattress guy) from finance is excellent. he doesn't give you bs sales pitches and works with you. Jasmine was my sales woman. she did freaking awesome. i will be buying my next car from them and so will my family. i originally went in for a used car and mike explained how and why i should choose other. great choice and i couldn't be happier.

Bought 4 vehicles and will buy more

by AlexK on 06/01/2017

I have bought or leased at least 4 vehicles from Thruway Nissan. I worked with Richard Wetlzberger in sales and Mike in finance and they always gave me a great deal. My opening line is "you need to knock my socks off before I buy" and they did every time. Fair negotiators and professional demeanor. I will continue to purchase my Nissans here. buyer beware on extended warranty

by ceb3960 on 04/05/2016

I would give zero stars if I could . On 2-29-16 I purchased a used 2014 Honda civic from sales person johnny k for full advertised price . When asked about payment ,I informed him I wanted to pay cash but he said the advertised price is for financing only but I could pay it off anytime without penalty . I have good credit score so I relented and financed the car. This is were the real problem started ,I was sent into the finance managers office (Michael m),for all the paperwork and he included a $2500 extended warranty, that he said was required by the bank that was financing (wells fargo dealer services).Michael m said I could cancel at anytime and get a full refund as long as the car is paid in full . I figured since I was going to pay it off right away,i would cancel and get full refund for the extended warranty 2500 plus 200 in taxes). When I got home ,I spoke with a relative who works within banking sector and said banks do not require an extended warranty for financing .I then spoke with a loan officer at 3 different banks I have accounts with (including a wells fargo branch) ,they all said that they don't require extended warranties for financing cars ,they said financing is either approved or declined based on credit worthiness .As you might have imagined I was very upset and went back to the dealer(on 3/1/16) and canceled the extended warranty , The warranty was issued through Nissan extended services of north America ,and I got a copy of the cancelation and mailed it myself in case the dealership failed to fax the cancelation .I also sent wells fargo dealer services a certified check for the full amount and the extended warranty (17,600 paid on 3-9-16).I then receive back the cancelation I sent to Nissan services saying there is no record of any extended warranty and to contact the dealership.I take proof of payoff and the letter from Nissan to thruway Nissan and get the runaround ,full mailbox when I call the finance manager ,several trips to the dealership ,when calling the main number Michael m doesn't answer pages .I am very frustrated after a couple weeks of this and many trips to the dealership. I also contact Nissan extended services to see if they have anything on there system yet and they still did not have it on there system ,the service rep indicated it usually hit the system immediately in case you needed to use towing service if the car broke down . Its as if the dealership lost my paperwork . Finally after much aggravation and getting the runaround ,I finally got a check from the dealership for the $2700 on 3/31/16. I do not want to see any other individual go through what I went through so getting back to the title buyer beware of deception when dealing with this dealership .This all happened while under new ownership so I would let them get a decent reputation before buying a car at thruway Nissan.

Thruway Nissan

by beachcomber3 on 01/04/2016

This dealership is under new ownership. I had visited two other dealerships - in no way did they compare to the way I was treated at Thruway Nissan from the time in the door until I drove away in my new SUV. They tell you they want you to leave happy which I certainly did. They give the white glove treatment.

Should have left before signing contract. 2013 Pathfinder

by carowner123 on 08/26/2014

I have purchased many new cars over the years. I can say my negotiation process with my salesperson at Newburgh Nissan was quick and we agreed on a price quickly but that's the only part that has been easy. It was what took place after I gave my deposit and up until now, months later, that I'm still having an issue. First... the night before delivery I still had not been informed of my finance interest rate. I felt it was intentional that I didn't get a call back, they must make more money providing financing in house. After calling multiple times and requesting the finance guy (Al) contact me back since I had the ability to get a great rate through my credit union I never heard back. I arrived for my appointment the next morning only to wait for an hour while the finance team had a meeting. Really? I should have walked out right then. Stupidly I didn't and this is a decision I regret each and every time I get into my Nissan Pathfinder. Upon sitting with him I learn the rate is higher then what I could have gotten elsewhere, had he called me back I could have saved myself money. He said he was busy the previous night in a meeting and didn't have the time to contact me about my rate. Al didn't seem to care that I could have saved money financing myself. Upon completing the paperwork I noticed that my Nissan One to One credits weren't applied. Hey $250 is $250. Guess what... he didn't care. He made no effort to make the adjustment despite it clearly being written on our sales agreement for them to be applied since I had previously owned and actually traded in another Nissan Vehicle that day. By this time I was really running late since they made me simply sit and wait for an hour, oh they did offer me a snack, wasn't that nice? Once the paperwork nightmare (I overpaid $250 plus the higher interest over the term of the loan) was over time for the subsequent issues to begin. The car was delivered to me without a window sticker... this isn't even legal. I am still asking for this document, have contacted the sales person as well as the management to be promised one which never came. When I took delivery of the car they had to take car mats out of another vehicle since mine didn't have any. I also wasn't given the proper owners manual. I was given one for a car of a different year. They didn't think this was a big deal, I did and had to go back for the proper owners manual as well as for the roof rails which were part of the package on this car. I was told it wasn't part of the package, and without the window sticker this was hard to prove. They researched it and guess who was right.. yup I eventually got roof rails but had to go to the dealership to pick them up. I left the dealership the day of delivery disliking my new car because the experience was so negative. This has never happened in the past. I immediately contacted my sales rep and the manager on duty. I wanted my trade back. Ironically I wasn't given the courtesy of a even call back until the day AFTER they sold my trade at auction. Ironic isn't it? I have texts and emails to prove all this. Since this time I have contacted my sales rep, the manager Nolan I met with the day I came in to first look at the car. I asked to speak to the dealership manager, Rich B. It's a bit ironic that I get emails thanking me for my purchase and hoping I had a great buying experience at Newburgh Nissan but None of the multitude of attempts to have him reach me have ever been returned. I have multiple emails to him as well as to my sales rep to substantiate all of this. Even today I contacted them letting them know the window sticker I have requested on MANY occasions still hasn't arrived, I am SHOCKED that after all my attempts to simply have the manager discuss with me my satisfaction with their dealership that Rich B still refuses to acknowledge me. I've been told by Nolan and my rep that he has been made aware of the situation. So either he is intentionally ignoring me for months or my messages are being kept from him. Either way this is unacceptable. I'd stop in the dealership but I don't live near there. I went to them because they had the color and package of the car I was looking for. I also didn't negatively fill out the post purchase survey since my sales rep told me that directly effects her commission and I didn't feel at the time the issues I was having were a direct result of her. She wasn't even in the day of my delivery and someone else delivered the vehicle. Ever since that day this car and my experience at Newburgh Nissan as well as the lack of respect to address my dissatisfaction has been bothersome. I hope no one else is ever in the same position as I am and felt it worthy to express my experience at Newburgh Nissan. I hope this see this because maybe, just maybe I'll be contacted? I doubt it.

HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE

by smcz on 04/01/2011

IF YOUR FEMALE AND A MINORITY... TAKE YOUR CASH ELSEWHERE. Maybe it is the way they treat woman who come in a pay CASH for their cars, but once they got the money they treated me like "trash". I could not even get them on the phone, and I asked for everyone from the sales manager to the service manager, to the Dealership manager, and they NEVER returned my calls. Now, just one month after the purchase, the engine light comes on and I discover that it is a sales trick to turn off the codes. Thanks a lot Newberg Nissan. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE read the reviews before dealing with these people. The phrase buyer beware was created for them.
