Been going here for years, excellent service and sales. Dan Kraus is the guy to see in sales. He knows his stuff like no one else. I have two vehicles from Basil VW and both are in great shape, one has 116,000 miles.

Saddened and Disgusted

After 9 years of being a customer, Leased vehicles, and recommending to others, I’M DONE. This time it looked like they were hoping my insurance would cover their inflated price- but my deductible was too high. I paid out of pocket for scabbed in wires- wasn’t even a genuine wire harness part swap. I am saddened and disgusted at the same time.

Horrible Experience

The vehicle itself was fine- the sales and service were not. The salesman didn't know much of anything about the vehicle, which as you can imagine was rather surprising. Therefore he was not helpful at all, and he wasn't particularly personable to begin with. In fact, when I would ask a question about how a certain thing works, he would say "I don't know. You can call a Volkswagen shop about that". I had to ask him THREE different times just to get the tires inflated properly- the third time I asked "so were these tires pumped up?", he said "I don't know... I asked them to". So he drove it back to their little garage again and finally got this simple request completed- but only after he would've let me drive off on soft tires. There was some issue with the vehicle that had been fixed in their shop when they acquired it, but he couldn't elaborate on what that issue was beyond a very vague description even though he had just spoken to someone to find out. So if you do go here, don't expect warm treatment. Expect a barebones transaction of whatever the listed price was, filling out paperwork, their commission-induced smile at the end, and them letting you know that they did you some kind of favor by making you want to rip your hair out. You'll just run in circles if you want more details. It's not worth the hassle. Two stars because they let me look at the car on a lift. ...But that doesn't change the fact that I was close to saying "[non-permissible content removed]" and leaving mid-transaction. I wouldn't recommend my experience at Basil Volkswagen in Lockport to anyone, ever.

This dealership is very personable and isn’t like most dealerships I have been to. Austin was my salesman and he was absolutely amazing. He was knowledgeable and extremely helpful. If you are looking for a vehicle they have new and used! And not just VW used! I highly recommend this dealership for your next purchase!

The Sales staff at Basil VW were impressive! I say that because, not only were they knowledgeable, professional, friendly and courteous, but they didn’t waste our time. From the time we first arrived “just looking”, to the time we actually took possession of the new vehicle, they were efficient and moved the process along. There was no standing around waiting for service.

This is my first experience with Basil, and it was a very good one. I came from out of town in order to get a specific model/color that I could not find locally...and it was worth the trip. I worked with Brandon and he was helpful through every step of the process. Buying a car is not one of those tasks most people look forward to... Buying mine at Basil was as easy as I have ever experienced in my car buying process. Despite being out of the area...I am certain I will be back to Basil in the future.

Best Experience at a Dealer ever

The experience started off poorly with a scheduled test drive and the car not on the lot. This was taken care of immediately and the rest of the deal was a breeze. They gave me supreme value for my trade and threw in a $100 gas card For the initial mix up with the test drive. Overall I was very satisfied. This is my second Basil vehicle and I’ll be a loyal customer as long as reside in WNY

Had a great buying experience when I purchased my 2019 Golf R. Very helpful and knowledgeable about the vehicle and was able to get through the process quickly. Test drove Friday night and took the car home Saturday afternoon. What else can you ask for?

10's all around from the knowledge of the salesman on my vehicle features to the sales manager giving a no BS price and making the experience excellent. Top notch over there top down! I am very impressed with my vehicle as well as the experience at the dealership. Will use again for sure if I had to pick between Basil and Towne who I almost purchased from. Basil was way more professional, attentive, honest with price, cleanliness of vehicle, and most importantly they seemed like they cared and wanted to make it happen quickly and effortlessly with no BS.
