My experience with Davidson Ford from start to finish was not like most with a car dealership. Our salesman, Matt Rupp, was wonderful. Very laid back, up front and honest with every detail so there would be no surprises, not pushy, and just overall such a nice guy. Sales manager (I believe) Aaron, was also great to deal with. Everything went smooth and there was no pressure. LOVE my new Ford Explorer!

Ford F150 SuperCrew Cab XLT

I love my new truck. The comfort is absolutely wonderful. They were very friendly & my salesman didn't hover over me. I told him which 1 I wanted to look at & he handed me the keys then walked away until I was ready to discuss things.

New Ford Raptor

Many of you know it is hard to find and buy a new truck in the United States in 2023. I reached out to Davidson Ford. In Clay,NY for help. They got me my new Ford Raptor exactly how I wanted it. They also gave me a great deal which made it worth it to travel from Myrtle Beach, SC to NY. Special thanks to Doug Jean for the help. I have bought at least 30 cars over the years and Doug is the best manager I have dealt with. This dealership is incredible.

Good Experience

Good experience with the dealership, absolutely no pressure to buy and they even brought a truck from another dealership for me to purchase. My salesman Matt Rupp was down to earth and listened to what I was looking for and never even blinked when I asked him to bring in another truck. They gave me a fair trade and this was all on a used truck. The finance gentleman (sorry his name eludes me) did not push to sell me anything extra he just gave me my options and let me decide what I wanted. I do have a small issue with the truck I am hoping to resolve this week and do not have any reason to believe they will not take care of it.

DISAPPOINTING TO SAY THE LEAST

From start to finish, an unpleasant experience. First, i saw a vehicle i liked on the lot (used) but when i went in the showroom to ask questions/ test drive i could not even catch someone's eye. It's like i was bothering them and they were too busy. i eventually drove the vehicle and loved it. I decided to purchase it but when i went to sign the paperwork and take delivery the salesman told me he didnt have anything ready even though we had an appointment so we made another appointment for the next day. Showed up the next day, of course the payment was $5 higher than quoted but i didnt want to go through the hassle. In addition, we had agreed on a certain amount of down payment which they changed like there was no communication between the salesman and the finance office. After signing the paperwork i took delivery. There was food in the car and garbage in the driver side door. The vehicle was dusty in spots. Obviously not a sufficient detail job. Very disappointing. Went back the same day to show them which they then corrected. This whole ordeal isnt even over. i went to look at the owners manual and not only was the correct one there but also one for a completely different vehicle with the key for that vehicle. I'm not sure what their system is with who does what but it's obviously not efficient. Not even the basics. Buying a car is stressful but it should also be exciting which it was just annoying. There also was not even a person that could show me what options my car had. The excuse was it's a ford place and what i was buying was not a ford. i cant imagine what else could have gone wrong.

Poor Customer Service

I brought my 2018 F-150 for inspection and service. I was informed that the rear brakes needed to be replaced in addition to the other service work I requested. I dropped my vehicle off at 830am and it was ready at 415pm. After driving it home I thought the brakes felt funny but didn’t think much of it at first thinking that it was just different brakes and rotors I must not be used to it. I knew something was definitely wrong after attempting to stop at the first stop sign from my house when the pedal went to the floor and the truck slowly came to a complete stop. I then discovered the brake pad on the driver's side rear was loose, hanging partially out of the caliper. I immediately called the service department with my findings. After explaining the situation to the first person who took my call, she asked,”When can you bring your vehicle in.” I explained that I was not driving a vehicle with compromised brakes and that I would like to speak with a manager. I was transferred to Anthony, the service manager. After explaining the situation to Anthony he asked "are you close to the dealership." Surprisingly, I had to explain to the manager that I was not going to drive a vehicle with compromised brakes. I stated my concerns, that my family could have been in the vehicle with a failure to stop. I was told by Anthony, "that's not my concern, my concern is getting your vehicle back on the road." I would think that Ford’s Business Vision would want their Managers to be very concerned with the well being of its customers and their families while driving their products. Needless to say, I had my truck towed to the dealership that evening. Friday morning, I called to check on the status of the vehicle. After an hour and a half with no returned phone call, I called back. I was transferred to my service advisor, Jim, who stated that the “brake pad was not seated correctly and mistakes happen.” I told him that I was concerned that driving home with a brake pad out of the caliper would cause abnormal wear and that after paying over $500.00 I would like the rotor and pad replaced to avoid this. I was told "visually, they don't see damage to the pad or rotor so they just got put back in." I asked to speak with the manager. Anthony called me an hour and a half later and stated the job was complete. He stated, "we reinstalled everything at no cost to you and we are going to give you a complimentary oil change for the trouble." Not satisfied, I stated I did not wish to have my vehicle serviced there after this experience. I asked how they could compensate me for the two days I was without a vehicle and the risk they put me and my family in by giving me a vehicle with negligently installed brakes. I was told, "luckily no one was hurt and that you should be happy that nothing bad happened." I stated that a partial refund and at the very least they could do is make sure a new rotor and pad would replace the improperly installed ones. Anthony balked at this request and said they were not going to refund and that the rotor and pad did not appear damaged. Anthony stated "Sir, I see you bought your vehicle here and you are a valued returning customer to the service department, but if you are going to make demands we can end the conversation here." I’ve always spoken highly Davidson and would frequently tell family, friends and co-workers they should go there. This was an atrocious way to be treated as a “valued customer." Mistakes happen, but that's where customer service is suppose to come in and save the day. I brought a vehicle to Davidson's Service Department with no symptoms of brake issues and left with a vehicle that wouldn’t have even passed a NYS Inspection. I am hopeful that someone of authority at Davidson will reach out and prove to me that the slogan "valued customer" is more than just lip service. I have formally requested the General Manager, Eric to contact me. At the time of this review that has not happened. I will update the review if that changes.

Service poor. Communications issue, non existing follow up.

Brought my Ford F150 in for service/repair. Made appointment for 1st week of June. I even dropped my truck off the night before the appointment. Long story short took dealer a week to repair after being told several times that it would be done prior to the actual week it took. I immediately received a text from my service Advisor stating that if I had questions I could reply/send text directly to him as opposed to calling the service department. I sent 5 texts in two days that went unanswered. Epic Fail Davidson!!!! Received email from Davidson while the truck was in for repairs, basically a gimmick sales email asking me if I wanted to trade my truck in. Finally picked up truck, didnt make it home before the noises started again. I sent texts and received no responses. The i get an email from jessie (another clear gimmick) stating that they wanted to ask how the visit/service was. Today is August 28th. I responded to Jessie's email on june 11, the day I received it. Explained all the run around and the fact that truck is not fixed. Received response apologizing and stated the the info would be sent to the manager. Another gimmick, still no call from anyone. Sent an email to sales manager two weeks ago requesting the General Managers contact info, considering that it's not available from their website. Never received a response. So my truck is still not repaired, they were paid for allegedly fixing the issue and everytime I hear how they are the nicest people to do business with I laugh. Dealership has a huge issue with their ability to service customer. My advice go somewhere else!

Diesel service

Davidson Ford Diesel service is horrible. If they can find problem they will create problem for your I don't recommend anybody this service shop.

Servicee shop review.

Finally today I got my truck back less time Davidson Ford technician work on my truck by time they done truck want start I took to different dealer shop they told me electrical harness was damage they can replace just the 1 wire souls they have to replace whole harness $2300 later for harness truck start with no problem. So anybody read this review you You have to be out of your mind to take your diesel vehicle to Davidson ford on road 31,Clay NY.

Disappointed service

Scheduled an appointment for checkup and repair of my 2011Ford F150 4 wheel drive. It would not ingage or would kick out of 4 wheel drive. The service department diagnosed it as a bad solenoid and replaced it. I picked up the truck and immediately realized the 4 wheel drive was not repaired. Was not only the 4 wheel drive not working but now my lights are flickering and the heat is not working. I brought the truck back the following Monday and expressed the issues. The truck was at your shop for two days, the service tech indicated a damaged wiring harness under the truck was most likely the issues for the electrical problems, and they could not get the 4 Wheel drive system to disengage. After the second full day of the truck being at your shop with no further answer on why my four-wheel-drive was not working I decided to pick the truck up. I pick the truck up Tuesday evening around 6:30 when it was very slippery out. The four-wheel-drive did not work from the moment we got in the truck. I quickly came to the conclusion that there were a few possibilities, the service tech never even looked at the truck the two days it sat there, the service tech is very inexperienced, or the service department stringing me along in hopes of creating more repair costs. Obviously the $150 I spent on the first repair was not the issue. I have brought the truck to a different mechanic to see if they can determine the issue.

Servicee shop review.

They did work on my truck $1000 400 miles later exactly same problem they ask me for $10000 to fix that problem. By time they work on my truck my truck won't even start. I have to call tow truck to get my vehicle out that garage before they make more damage They claim my fuel was contaminate again I took my truck to Ford in central square First things they told me absolutely nothing wrong with my fuel. If you have diesel truck do not ever take to the Davidson Ford dealer Service was absolutely horrible you going to end up with more problem then you came in. If you have any questions about their service give me call [contact info removed] I do not have anything to hide.
