get everything in writing

by neil32 on 05/16/2013

Delership did not keep their words. They charged me extra right at the time of pickup. I had already paid most of the money and did not have choise but to go ahead with the transaction. Don't use them or if you do make sure you get everything in writing. Can't trust someone who does not keep their words.

Very Bad

by exvwowner1 on 03/29/2013

Originally I felt rushed and pushed into into buying the car by the manager. At the point of negotiating price he would repeat something like c'mon bro and are you serious. Because I was trying to reduce the price. We had to meet in the middle between $300. I thought he acted like $300 was too much to take off, but I was crazy to walk away if he wouldn't take off $300. So I kept hearing what came off as an antagonizing, Bro are you serious? Are you really gonna walk away just because of this? C'mon there are no other cars as nice as mine bro or something similar. I had the car inspected days later to find a tire had a chunk out of it. The manager was loud and acted astonished that my mechanic had found this. He explained there was no way this was true because it had gone through his service shop. I asked if he wanted to call my repair shop and he said "I WOULD LOVE TO!" in what peceived as a sarcastic manner. He did call the repair shop to verify. The tire price was refunded though. I later (two weeks) found water [HTML removed] in the trunk of the car. I called to see how to be accommodated and was told to send emails with pictures. After a couple weeks I called back again to find progress; the same manager said his email was having problems and not working and he said he never received my email(S), but a fellow co-worker that was in the service department copied on them did(hmm?). The manager explained he could not guarantee that he would be able to fix the car for free. Whilst trying to talk (and when I say talk I mean as professionals do) and argue my case that the problem was from when I left the lot he spoke over top of me and became louder and louder. I had to yell "Chris, listen!" multiple times o try and get a single word in. He did not listen or give me a chance at this point. I told him I felt he was being rude to me and he laughed at me. I asked to speak to his supervisor about being treated disrespectfully. He then began to use "Listen" anytime I just asked him to repeat himself, I believe trying to mock me using "LISTEN" as a play on words anytime he could. The supervisor also began to speak very loudly (YELL) over me when he got on the phone. He thought I was complaining about the non-guarantee of fixing it, but at that point I just wanted to know how I, a patron was being treated. Things got very heated. The supervisor sided with the manager and said his employee would have never done anything like that if I wouldn't have been so rude first, I would not have got that treatment. He told me I was just looking for a fight and disregarded my feelings. My mother listened the entire time and had to intervene between what became a shouting match. Her idea was to be transferred to the service department and deal with them after the verbal exchange became hot. The service employee was calm, polite and simply explained the same thing. Meanwhile I have a Prius that I bought off the lot that somehow gets water in the hatches battery compartment. All I really wanted was a car that was good to go off the lot with no problems. That's why I bought from a Toyota dealership. I thought they would offer more... I feel too embarrassed to go back now; all because I tried to stick up for myself. I live over an hour away and I do not believe I brought this on myself. I would have felt worse if I never would have brought it up to them. I will not be taking my car back even if it is covered after the treatment I received. I explained I would be writing my opinion and experience on social media reviews and neither seemed to care. I assume they will reply to this. I will not bring my car back. I will be having it fixed elsewhere after this incident even having t pay for it for sure. I do not only write negative reviews, I also write positive. I do this to give back to the social media world as it has helped me find the best product/deal/store. Any of you fellow Amazon shoppers will completely agree.

Lowest Pricing in the area

by red_dog53 on 06/07/2012

I searched a 75 mile radius on the web for a Rav4. I found that K. Brown was the lowest I could find without traveling to southern Pa. They also honored the Auto Trader online trade-in quote (this was big for me as the other dealer in Elmira offered 2300 dollars less.) They are not responding well to online business,, room for improvement there. Salesman ran his butt off for us but the process took a long time.I feel this is common for big dealerships.

Internet? What Internet?

by 20120102 on 12/13/2011

I requested a quote from this dealer via Edmunds. I immediately received an automated response acknowledging my request and promising that a quote would be emailed to me very soon. I never heard another word from this dealer. I assume they are not interested in doing business via the internet. I purchased a vehicle from another dealer.

Dealer Not Interested In Online Sales

by 20120102 on 12/09/2011

I received the automated response to my request for a quote promising the dealer would contact me soon. I never heard from them after that. I can only assume they are not interested in dealing with online purchasers. I wonder why they are part of the Edmunds network.

Average Dealer at Best

by carguy149 on 09/15/2011

Bought a minivan for my wife from KB Toyota. The car itself turned out to be a decent vehicle, but KB tried to slip in additional add ons without proper disclosure, and when I caught them doing it their excuse was "that is our standard package that we sell with all our cars". I offered to walk away from the deal and they offered to discount some of the products as the work (Scotchguard, etc) had already been done. I told them I wasn't interested and they finally removed the additional charges. I recommend that you make 100% sure that you know what all you are paying for before you buy anything. The dealership isn't any worse than most, but it doesn't make them any less dishonest.

Buyer Beware

by carbuyer10001 on 05/23/2011

I feel there staff is very shady. This was the worst car buying experience I have ever had. In my opinion they were not honest and did not really care.

OK transaction, very pushy/aggressive. Do your research, women beware

by howardmd13 on 03/30/2009

Recently purchased a used Hyundai from KB, and I was less than thrilled with the transaction. They don't deal on the prices, but their prices are comparably low, so that wasn't a big issue. They don't give anything for a trade in, we went to multiple dealers who where willing to give at least 500 up to 1000 dollars more than KB. My mother was buying the car and for any stereotype you can think of about women and purchasing a vehicle, would be true in this case, and the KB dealer seen and took advantage of it. Granted this isn't the case with most, just beware if you know someone who may be susceptible to the pressure the dealer is knowingly going to put on them. We drove one car one day, and where able to take it by ourselves, while the next week the dealer went with us. When asked if he could wait here, so my mom wasn't nervous, he replied with "That's not our policy." So what the difference is I don't know. We came back told them we were going through a bank, not them, so he decided to run numbers. Pushing purchasing the vehicle today ( a saturday, close to closing time) instead of waiting till Monday while they are closed Sundays. My mom fell for it and purchased the vehicle. They wanted to add 800 for scotch guard and undercoating. Definitely a rip off when a garage will offer this for a much lower price, and be doing the same procedure. I told him to take it off the bill, but when we left I noticed it was still on there. So that's 800 dollars, not much more per month, yet the interest you pay over the ~5 years worsens the deal. This was taken off that following Monday. While the salesmen was friendly he knew what to say to my mom, who was taking was listening to him more so that me, typical stubborn Italian you could say. So overall the bad deals where of my mothers fault for falling for, though knowingly KB took advantage of this for the sale. Now less than a month later, the car REEKS of smoke. No one smokes in my family, no one has been in the car that smokes either. They masked the smell to sell it, not uncommon, but that was a direct question asked, to the reply of this is a one owner non smoker vehicle. Overall my mother is happy with the car, other than the smokey smell, which she can deal with until it goes away a little or is masked with something else. So far the car is fine though for an 08 not much should have gone wrong yet. I'm not saying do not go to Kent Brown, just beware of typical tricks to get a sale, unnecessary add-ons, and do your research about the car you're going to drive. Hope this can help someone!
