Best auto-buying experience of my life

onTraded in my 2012 Honda CRV-EX for a Subaru Forester 2.5i Limited with EyeSight and Harmon-Cardon/navigation system and did my homework before going in. Priced out the trade-in value and the price of the new car on Autotrader and KBB and cars.com and got the "guaranteed" low price from autotrader with the exact options I wanted. Based on my bad dealership experiences with Honda I went in loaded for bear! To my surprise, it couldn't have been a more pleasant and stress-free experience. Went in on a Sunday and met the salesman Joseph Teti. The man is friendly, professional, personable, and as honest and transparent as anyone I've ever dealt with. Without saying a word, he priced out the new car at approximately $600 less than the autotrader "excellent" price for my area, and used the dealer inventory price and not the sticker price. The car with the accessories had to be located, and and the trade-in value of my car was what I was hoping for. By Friday afternoon, I was back to finalize and pick up my new car. I was introduced to the finance manager, Craig Miller. Again, no high pressure, just a discussion about the extended warranty and the theft recovery system. he laid at the facts, and let me come to a decision on my own. The transaction was complete, the registration transfer processed on premises and I drove out with my new Subaru with the permanent registration, the options I requested, at a better price than I expected. Oh, and his walk-through of the actual functions of the car was informative, fun, and done in a way that Joe shows his personal passion and love of the product he represents. I couldn't be happier and more satisfied. Thank you, Joe!

They let warranties expire first

onMy problem with this dealership is, in august my car overheated and I brought it to be check and was told they couldn't find the problem. Was told it could have been that it was in the 90's and I was stuck in traffic for a few hours but the car should be fine. I only use the car for mostly family trips on the weekends. About a month later I drive to Boston and on the way home it overheats again. I again brought it back and get the thermostat replaced. A few weeks later I drive to montauk and there is air in cooling system, bring it back they say it's fine and bleeded it. A few weeks go by and it overheats again, thermostat is replaced again. I took a long drive last weekend and it overheated again. Now they tell the head gaskets and water pump are bad. While my car was under warranty they were not able to find the problem, now my car is out of warranty and they now they found the real issue. They probably let warranty expire so they could charge me for the repair it initially needed while it was warranty.

Annual Service and NY State Vehicle Inspection

onI arrived 20 minutes early for my appointment and that was not a problem. I was greeted warmly and the information for my service was taken quickly and courteously. The Service Manager was friendly and knowledgeable - and made sure I knew where the customer lounge was - since this was my first visit. The agreed upon work was completed quickly, and the paperwork was reviewed with me summarizing the service and expenses prior to payment. It was an excellent overall experience.

onI have a new smart phone and needed it to be synched to use the blue tooth on my car and I was told to simply drive over and it would be done. I then discovered that my low tire pressure gauge was on and they found a nail and patched the tire at the same time.

on1st major work done there, But $440 labor for 2.5 hours of work(time between call from dealer about work start to dealer called about work finished), ouch!! sure would think twice or three times before bringing my car in again.

onThis dealership is by far one of the most professional that I have been to. I have purchased several vehicles over the last 20 years. Most salesman were either complete jerks, or clueless. Here at Bay Ridge Subaru, the salesman are mature men and women who understand why people come to purchase cars. They are thoroughly knowledgeable in the vehicles that they sell. They are not overly pushy and take their time. This was a pleasurable experience; except for coming up with the money. Upon final purchase and pick up, my initial salesman was present and took the time to sit us down in the car and go over all the interior operating features. I would definitely recommend this dealership to anyone looking to purchase a new Subaru. Forget Staten Island, Brooklyn is the place to go.
