NEVER again will I buy Kia, step foot at Destination Kia Albany, NY or refer my worst enemy to them for any service or sale. This place is the epitome of what's wrong with customer service today and whats wrong with laborers these days- techinicians only being able to repair what a computer tells them how to- where are the REAL mechanics!? Rude, incompetent, dishonest, lack of communication, confrontational, arrogant, pampas- you name it the list could go on and on. DO NOT BUY A KIA TELLURIDE- YOUR ENGINE WILL BLOW!! They are known to have engine issues, guzzling oil issues, misfiring issues even had engine recalls. (Check your oil between changes!!!) Do your research please!! FB has several complaint groups that will spell it all out for you! I finally got my vehicle back, after close to 5 months, backordered engines, being told one thing one day and something different the next, telling me the parts were there and it would be done Monday, calling Tuesday b/c noone reached out to me to find out the parts werent even there yet, what!? So, after this nearly 5 month nightmare of wishy washy, if any at all, communication I went to pick up my vehicle (engine was replaced and she was ready for pick up). While doing a quick once over I noticed dings and scratches and damage to the vehicle that wasnt there before, parts on the front passenger floor that needed to be reattached.... $5000 for my part of a replaced engine (was out of warranty and my specific VIN didnt have the engine recall; the company, after fighting tooth and nail with them and them determining it was of no fault of my own that the engine blew, agreed to pay 50%- in my eyes thats a confession of guilt to their faulty engines) and it turns out shes not ready for pick up and it had to be left there again!!!! This also- $5000 in car rental fees for being without a vehicle for 2 months, toll fees for the thruway (NY charges close to $5/day in a rental just to use the thruway on top of the actual tolls, there is a cap amount though) and discovered it was cheaper to just purchase a brand new one, so I did, and you can bet on it WAS NOT A KIA. Sooo the nightmare continues, it was sent to the body shop to be repaired (yes they covered the costs being it happened on their watch on their property) and just hit repeat, miscommunication it will be ready this day it wasnt, it will be ready end of week it wasnt, another week went by and another weekend went by finally the car is finished..... I will be offloadong this car asap because I have no trust, no faith and no desire to continue driving it; the new motor comes with a warranty of only 12,000 miles after that who knows what will happen... Im not sticking around to fine out!

I dealt with Devin Bradt at the dealership and was very pleased with the level of service he provided. He quickly registered my car for service and answered my questions regarding the service order. I was impressed that he notified me when he had to leave prior to my car service being completed and assured me that another service technician would step in in his absence. The follow up occurred as indicated by Devin.

Had my Car for 6 Weeks!!

First, I understand the service area of a dealership deals with a lot. I’m completely understanding of. But seriously when you have a customers car for over a month… you need to keep the customer updated at least once a week. Calling everyday getting the run around is really stressful. Please add a process that will over communicate when you have a customers car for more than a week.

Epic Lease Experience Failure

My husband and I were leasing our 6th KIA Sorrento- one that we had procured 2.5 months before and had to wait for delivery. Upon its arrival at Destination, we made arrangements to pick it up at 3 pm on July 17, 2023. We arrived at 2:55 pm and our delivery was not completed until 6:05 pm.! Needless to say, we were tired, feeling neglected, and extremely frustrated. At almost 5 pm, we requested a manager, and a gentleman named Sean talked with us about our ridiculous situation. He looked into the delay and told us that he believed our paperwork was put to the bottom of the pile when it shouldn’t have been. He told us that it was being expedited and offered us floor mats or a cargo liner for our leased KIA Sorrento. My husband explained that we weren’t looking for a freebie, just to have our paperwork so that we could leave. As a kind gesture, a cargo liner was still put in the vehicle. At 6pm, when we finally went into the finance person’s office, exhausted and now angry, we were indeed voicing our frustration. To this, the financial person stated arrogantly that Destination didn’t get the Best KIA Sales Dealership for nothing. We were then told by the Manager that he was no longer going to take our complaining and we could take our original leased vehicle ( which the lease had expired 2 months prior and we were making extension payments) and leave. My husband and I were shocked at such a response to a situation in which we clearly had every right to be angry about. My husband said , “That’s your response? Are you kidding?” We were finally told that the KIA system was down and that they were having to do everything on paper and that it was all KIA dealerships experiencing the problem. We were very disappointed in our lease delivery experience from Destination and we hope they take our experience and learn how to better handle such a situation with customers in the future, because this was an epic fail.

Warranty Work

My vehicle was dropped off the night before my appointment. Work was completed in a timely fashion. Mike ( from the service dept. ) called me to let me know that they were working on the car and called when the work was completed. Great service!

Definitely a good destination!

We were purchasing out of state and it still couldn't have been any easier if I lived next door. Alex was fantastic through the whole process. I used to work in the car business and although we were a great dealership as well, I couldn't believe anyone would register our vehicle for us and drive 3+ hours to put plates on the vehicle and take the dealer plate we were driving on. I think that aspires to excellent customer service. I wholly recommend this business and Alex Batko. This was a replacement for my wife's car and in a year or two, I will go back for a car for myself. Well done, there are still some good businesses around.

Don’t waste you time with other dealerships in Albany. I just bought my second car from them. Both times I went to other dealerships in the area first and left unhappy with no new vehicle. At destination buying a car is easy and stress free. Their staff is the biggest difference. They are the best around

I wrote a nice review a few days after my 2016 Kia Optima purchase. Since then this dealer and Kia offered zero help. Still waiting to here from my salesman after several weeks. Must of lost my number. Not to mention my insurance cancellation?? Thanks for the photo inspection??? All Set? Really!! ?? Might want to lay off the commercials !

Less than Stellar

With in the 30 days of the End Of Lease of my Kia, I went to a number of locations; Finally the Salesman won me over and I got into a new lease. When I sat to do the financing paperwork - I was advised of how I could purchase "additional protection" for my vehicle (tires, deductible assistance, etc) I verified at that time I could take my vehicle to my local tire dealer incase of issue: I was advised yes. Now I am sitting unable to get a call back - email back - and now when I call, the woman answering the phone giggles. I would not recommend this dealership to anyone. They seem to have a sell and dash reputation.

One of our best experiences ever in getting a new (leased) car. When we left today with our 2018 Soul, we felt we had been heard and respected on how much we could afford, and got the best price possible. We were shown everything about the car and the service department, and given a coupon book of vouchers for free oil changes and car washes. The entire dealership was clean, bright, airy, and every single staff person we encountered was genuinely courteous and friendly--there were no hovering vultures or plastic smiles here. The buying experience involved some negotiation (as it always does), but we feel we got a fair and reasonable deal. We can't say enough good things about our salesman, Nathan Pettograsso! He took the time to get to know what we needed in a car and made absolutely sure we were satisfied with every aspect. He showed himself to be extremely knowledgeable about the cars he sells. Anyone can spout a few buzz words, but Nathan took the time to give us very helpful info on everything from who currently designs it to safety and dependability studies. You can't fake enthusiasm for what you do. It was clear that Nathan was passionate about Kia cars, about this dealership, and about doing his job with excellence and concern for his customers. This whole experience was a much needed change from the one at the "huge" dealership. At Destination we never heard the cringe worthy "what will it take to get you into this car?" or "take it or leave it" (which was told us not once, but several times from the "huge" dealership). We highly recommend Destination Kia, where we were respected and valued as customers.
