Avoid or bring a Lawyer

by LLeftNJ on 03/07/2018

Avoid this dealer. Basically we had a decent deal. 20018 Honda Civic sold itself. Sales verbally promised pay off of Toyota lease, we were in 34th month of a 36 month deal. The reneged and lied about the promise. Why would we turn in a car with 2 months lease left on it? The lie, go to another dealer.

Great Sales Person - Eric

by BillG on 01/13/2018

I want to take a moment to say how happy we are with our new Odyssey. This was a Christmas surprise for my Wife and Eric was great with everything from finding the exact vehicle/features to assuring the surprise was realized, including the large red bow. I want to thank Eric and everyone at the Dealership for a great no-hassle experience.

Overall Great Experience

by Zack_N on 01/13/2018

I recently bought my first new car from pehonda. The salesman I had, Eric, made what I thought was going to be a stressful experience into a very enjoyable one. He took the time to answer any and all questions I had about the vehicle and financing. He was able to get me a great deal on my civic and we even had a few laughs along the way. Overall I had a great experience with pehonda and their staff. I would highly recommend them!

Worest Sales Rep Ever

by Njc11275 on 04/28/2017

Tom was the worst sales person ever. Tip, never start a conversation with "you've had xyz credit inquires in the last 6 months". You were told my situation straight up. Not every buy here pay here is a lease. Stop acting like you know everything. Tom was terrible. I will be complaining to Honda directly about him and management there.

This dealership did the right thing but....

by cinglemom24 on 09/26/2016

I wouldn't buy another car from Bill Hav again. I was told by a friend to see him because I had a hard time getting a car. Bill was nice but when I had problems he didn't call me back. I called the service department and Mike ended up helping me and it did not cost me anything. I just feel like Bill was only there to make a sale and I thought he was not like other car dealer saleman but in the end he was not. At least the car dealership helped me in the end and I'm still comfortable with my purchase. I would give Mike 5 stars and Bill only 1 but because the dealer did the right thing I'll give them 4 for Mike.

Buyer Beware

by fossil5 on 09/04/2016

Be forewarned get the offered deal in writing before you even get to the contract and carefully then check the contract. Buyer beware. Have them write it out: Down payment, monthly payment with or without taxes and any service agreement. My experience at this Honda dealership has been less than delightful (August, 2016). I came there to lease yet another Honda CRV and turn in my old one. I asked for their best deal. In fairness I told them that I would shop this at another dealership and give them an opportunity to respond if the other deal was better. The other dealership could not match the price so I called to reconfirm the price. It was reconfirmed. As I was at the point of starting the completion of the paperwork, my salesmen, John Edwards, came back and indicated that they left out a $900 delivery charge. I said simply “the deal is off.” The salesmen never said let me go back and speak with them. As I was leaving out of frustration I asked to speak with manager to say how disappointed I was. When I spoke with him, he said, ok we will honor the price. We then proceeded to close the deal, deliver the old car and sign for the new one. My fault for not checking the paperwork and I accept full responsibility for this. When I went to arrange for automatic monthly payment two weeks later, I read the contract more carefully and the monthly payment is now about $12 higher per month. It is not so much the money though it comes close to $400 over the term of the three year lease deal, but rather the integrity of the dealership. Instead of the $170 per month, it comes in about in total about $12 higher. I am disappointed and frustrated because I was hoping that the experience would be far smoother than it turned out to be. Car dealerships often have that time tested bad taste in your mouth reputation; well they fit the bill. To make matters worse, the salesperson was informed about the technical specs we needed for the car because we were using an external Sirius XM radio. No problem, said he. Well there is as there is no auxiliary jack in the car. Another cost for the car. Instead of either buying or leasing yet another car from this dealership, I will choose an alternate dealership. Words of warning get the deal numbers from them in writing first and check the offer sheet carefully against the contract. My lesson, read the terms of the contract and the car more carefully.

Best Car Leasing Experience Ever

by JES3143 on 11/07/2015

After a miserable week of car shopping I visited Phillipsburg Easton Honda and leased the perfect car in 30 minutes. Sales Rep Willie Rodriguez listened to what I needed and to what I could afford and came up with the perfect deal. Will never do business with anyone else.

What happened?

by Jenks00 on 06/02/2015

What happened to my sale person of many years? Went to buy a car today and staff was pushy and aggressive and this dealership was not like this before. I was hurried and I couldn't stand for it. Against what I wanted to do I went to a Honda dealer in Stroudsburg and bought the car I wanted with the price I wanted. I bought 4 cars from here and was always happy. I'm not sure if it's a new owner or what but it was a totally bad experience and it wasn't like that a few years ago. I'm disappointed.

Threatened By Salesman

by johnpalumbo on 05/23/2014

I would like to submit a complaint in reference to an incident that occurred this evening. My husband was working with one of the salesmen, Joe H, since yesterday on a deal. He went to the dealership today to discuss working out monthly payments that were comfortable for us. Joe became angry with my husband's requests and told my husband that he was "[non-permissible content removed] stupid" and a "[non-permissible content removed] waste of time". He then continued to run up to my husband's face as if he was going to punch him and then told my husband to "get the [non-permissible content removed] out of here". Some other salesmen pulled him away from my husband and escorted him off of the sales floor while another salesman told my husband not to worry about it and that "Joe is getting fired anyway". I am absolutely dumbfounded by the unprofessional and abrasive mannerism of the sales staff at PE Honda. Never in my life would I have expected a customer be treated in such a way. I will make sure that the community is aware of the way that PE Honda treats their customers. They should all be ashamed of themselves, I don't even know what else to say. What a complete disappointment. This isn't the first time I've done business with PE Honda and have always been skeptical of them, but I can guarantee I will NEVER do business with them again.

Good, Fair Dealer!

by rtroiani on 04/30/2014

I have purchased two cars from PEHonda. One Accord Crosstour and one Accord Coupe. I got good, fair deals on both. On the latest purchase, a 2014 Accord Coupe, I brought in a lower, invoice price and they matched it. They were tough on my trade, but found creative ways to get us to a win/win deal for both sides that I thought was fair.

NEVER EVER SHOP/BUY FROM THEM!

by spot6 on 05/11/2013

Clearly advertised price on used car. Went for test drive with salesmen. Agreed to pay full asking price filled out paperwork with salesmen told final cost with fees tags taxes. Agreed took photo copy of license. Salesmen disappeared. Manager finally comes out and says can not sell vehicle for that price. Vehicle is $3200 more was marked wrong. Told him that is price on vehicle and salesmen filled out paper work and I have cash on desk. Manager says I can sell you another car it was a mistake. Do not deal with [non-permissible content removed] AVOID PHILLIPSBURG EASTON HONDA. Filing claim NJ consumer affairs and attorney. Read other reviews this seems to happen a lot here!!!

Great Experience

by carolyn52 on 05/30/2012

I went to another local Honda dealer that morning and wanted to purchase a Crosstour. I was looking at a demo model but the price was too high and the salesman didn't even counter offer. I went home, went online and requested a quote and P-Burg Honda. They called me and informed me they had a used Crosstour and I went to see it. I ended up purchasing a new Crosstour and purchased the car within an hour. Great Service - Honest Salesman who didn't waste my time. I totally recommend this dealer to anyone looking for a quality car. I've always been a Honda owner and almost didn't purchase another due to the poor quality of service I received from the "other" Honda dealer I dealt with earlier that morning. Thank you David for realizing that my time is as valuable as yours and being so honest. I Love my new Crosstour!

DON'T BUY HERE

by ravencali on 03/09/2012

What started out as a very pleasant experience quickly turned south. A purchase price was thought to be agreed to but they wouldn't even guess on a trade without looking at it. Which is reasonable. So I drove the 35 miles and was told "between $2,800 and $3,200". which was reasonable. I went back to sign the papers TWO days later and was told the car was $2,000 more and my cars trade value is $1,000. That's a $4,000 difference. Disgusted I left but en route home I decided to tell them what I thought of their lousy service. Their response? I didn't get an accurate trade quote because "no deal was in place". When someone trades in a car it is part of the deal. The deal cannot be in place until we know how much the trade is. We don't lock in to a purchase price and then hope for a good trade value. Additionally in the 20 or so emails that went back and forth, including one where I asked "does the $400 incentive from Honda to dealer reduce my purchase price by $400"? ANSWER: Yes, to qualified buyers. Would have been nice to tell me the price that was quoted just 10 days ago is no longer valid? The reason? That was a Flex-cash incentive that is no longer available. A what??? An incentive that no other dealer seems to know about and one that Edmunds, Autobytel etc doesn't seem to list. Its impossible to sell the car at the price we quoted in February........That wouldn't explain why another dealer quoted a price lower than their February offer than I truly believe was never real. And the shenanigans of bring your car in for an appraisal and not appraising it is disgraceful. PASS THIS PLACE BY!

Disappointed is an UNDERSTATEMENT

by chris279 on 07/02/2011

Sent up the river is more accurate. Here's my "wonderful" experience. Phillipsburg-Easton Honda redefines "Honda Certified Used". I'm going to think twice about what that means. Let me illustrate a few examples: Background: Internet advertisement of a used 2008 Honda Odyssey Touring -- at Honda's top of the line van, this vehicle's MSRP = $40k new, so expectations were high for the closest thing to a luxury van. 1) Original Cars.com Price = $25,999 a. 1st Phone Call -- "Oh that's an accident, it should be $26,999. If you want that price, you'll have to forfeit the Honda Certified Warranty." 2) Honda Salesman - "We were going to fix the windshield, but We couldn't get the glass guy in to repair the window." and "Oh those are minor cracks, easily repairable." a. Reality -- They had 2 weeks from when they had the vehicle to when I could finally come in to test drive. One crack was in the center of the window -- some states (PA inspection) won't allow a repair. It needed replaced. 3) Honda Salesman - "Those tires are good enough. After all it's a used vehicle." a. Reality -- The rear tires were cracking on the sidewalls and had maybe 2-5k miles of tread left. Michelin's website has a 50k mi warranty and the vehicle had OEM original 2008 tires at 48k mi. [HTML deletd] 4) Honda Salesman - "That cracked/broken weatherstripping is not a problem. Used cars are not perfect." a. Reality -- Both sliding doors had cracked/broken weatherstripping. My 8yr old 2003 Toyota Highlander has flawless weatherstripping. My 6yr old 2005 Acura RSX has flawless weatherstripping. My previous 4 vehicles -- 3-Fords and 1-Volkswagon had flawless weatherstripping. 5) Honda Salesman - "It's a little dirty, but that's easily detailed." a. Reality -- Get ready to scrub. The carpets (rug & mats), door surfaces, wall surfaces, leather seats, seat pockets and accessories were covered in GRIME. It was so dirty, that after going over the vehicle (moving seats, etc), I had to wash my hands. The sink looked black like I had just changed oil and got it all over me. It would take HOURS to properly detail THIS car. The only good thing I have to say is how dedicated the Internet Sales rep was in coordinating the myrad of details before the visit. Her and her counterpart were the only reasonable, normal, non-slick-talking people we met. Why? It ALWAYS starts with leadership. Here's another shifty General Manager who thinks nothing of the customer and only himself. Here's a few examples: 1) GM - demanded completing the deal before end-of-month (due to insurance & other business costs). So at great personal expense, I took a vacation day, left my wife with our 4yr old and 4mo baby at home alone, took my retired father, and drove up 300 mi round trip. After asking if there was anything they could do to compensate me for THEIR needs, eventually I was offered an Appleby's gift card (which I never got, btw). 2) GM - refused to negotiate. I had a check in hand, but with ~$1,000 in repairs, he would not fix a thing (there were other problems, I just illustrated the major ones), and would not budge from the listed price. He wouldn't even come talk to me. He didn't once "check-in" during the day to see how it was going. To Summarize: 1) Quality - Engine/Suspension = Yes; Rest of the car = No 2) Customer Service = No 3) Insult to Injury = Yes -- as I was leaving, I talked to the serviceman -- he asked me about all the detailing work (which they were going to do a little bit for the next customer). Oh and guess what truck pulled in -- Auto Glass Repair. Buyers beware purchasing a "fixed windshield" that won't pass inspection. With all these problems what else were they hiding that I didn't notice?

Happy Customer!

by ddsm1111 on 12/22/2010

My husband stopped over one night after work, and Eric greeted him. My husband told him that he needed "a minivan the size of a car" and Eric showed him the Mazda5. We returned together the following weekend, and test drove with Wade Beitz. We finalized the purchase with him, which without a doubt was the smoothest car dealership transaction I have made. Normally I feel very presureed and aggrivated, with this transaction did not. The ONLY sour spot was I didn't get a big red bow. :) This car has really made a difference in my life. I have two small kids and this car is not only affordable, but very convenient. Thank You!

Civic lease experience

by hungarter on 10/17/2010

I just leased a Honda Civic from Phillipsburg-Easton Honda. I was greeted at the door by the very friendly secretary, Patty (?). The sales associate, David, was extremely courteous and answered all of my questions honestly and professionally. Thank you David for your help with my first lease experience. I can tell everyone at the dealership really looks after the customer...I didn't realize, but I had left something on the visor of my trade-in. They found it and I got a phone call the next day from David telling me he had saved it for me. That meant a lot to me..thank you so much!!

Very pleased

by efc2 on 08/12/2010

I am very pleased with my experience at Phillipsburg Easton Honda. Our sales consultant, Richie Ingrassia was great! He was very knowledgable and professional. Richie made us feel very comfortable and secure with our decision to lease our 2010 Insight. The entire process went very smoothly and I really can't think of anything negative to say. The entire dealership is very neat, clean and organized. Even the service area was super clean! Everyone we had contact with was very friendly and professional. We had a great experience and would definitely recommend Phillipsburg Easton Honda to my friends and family.

Alex & Eric- great at selling/leasing you the a purchase you won't reqret!

by galashu on 08/02/2010

Alex Fernandez and Eric Vante were great salesman and this isn't my first purchase from them. I thought I had my choice all figured out untill I test drove the CRV, Accord 4 cylinder and the Accord V-6. This time and much to my surprise I leased a 2010 Accord v-6 with leather! Their professionalism, understanding and patience allowed me to make a great lease purchase. They both knew my wants, needs and gotta haves and what I could afford. They put me in a vehicle that is exciting to drive. It has the superb handling, acceleration and maneuvering that is incredible. The Bluetooth capability is awesome and now I will be able to play my iphone tunes in this car too!! Yippee!!!! As they say "they're marvelous!" I have both of them to thank for such a great purchase and l would recommend to anyone looking for a great Honda to visit Phillipsburg Easton Honda and see Alex and Eric. A dedicated loyal honda customer!!!
