Pine Belt Subaru

by RPerez21 on 01/25/2024

This is my 3rd vehicle from this dealership. I have not had any problems or issues with purchasing, financing or leasing. Every salesman/salewoman have attended my needs and wants in getting a car from. Pharnel was a champ doing 3 sales at same time before closing. He made sure that the process was going well on a Friday night.

Pine Belt is Truly a different way to Subaru

by askrinak on 10/24/2017

Shout out the rockstar team at Pine Belt Subaru. They helped me get the new car I've always wanted (2018 Crosstrek) and made me feel apart of the pine belt family. I really don't know who loves the car more, me or my goofy dogs . Pine Belt Subaru is truly A DIFFERENT WAY TO SUBARU, for many reasons scaling from the exceptional service of the team that works there, the quality treatment given to the customers and especially the pricing they helped me get. Thanks again guys! Anyone in search of a car....they are the go to! I worked closely with Stephen, Lindsey and Jon...So appreciative of everything they have done for me!

Geo and his team were beyond fantastic

by mattevan on 09/02/2017

I get it. No one loves buying or leasing a car. Unless you're like me, and you love the thrill of the negotiation and the amazingness of the underlying product you're buying. And Subaru's are some of the most amazing cars out there, at a shockingly reasonable price point. I could go on, but I digress. I wound up leasing at Pine Belt, after a third party arranged a deal for me. Because of this non traditional arrangement, Pine Belt really had no obligation to make me feel special and go above and beyond. But they did. Geo was assigned my deal and was beyond great. He was clearly passionate about the Subaru brand, and he made the process a breeze. He made sure I got what I needed, and didn't push anything that wouldn't add real value to my ownership experience. Pine Belt even delivered the car to my residence, and that service was above all expectations. Gary and Joel, who did the delivery, were gracious and patient. Knowing my wife was pregnant, Gary spent extra time making sure we know how to set up the infant car seat. The process of delivery wasn't just not painful, it was actually enjoyable. Pine Belt management and ownership: cherish Geo, Joel and Gary. These are the type of people a company should want on the front lines. This dealer is not the most convenient for me, but I will now go out of my way to get to Lakewood.

I love Pinebelt and my salesman Matt Mazza

by Ilana1234 on 08/06/2016

I bought a Subaru Forrester in July 2015. I had been researching cars and kept going back to the Forrester. My neighbors had just bought their 3rd Forrester from Matt Mazza and said I really needed to go see him. They couldn't say enough positive things about him and their experience at Pine Belt. I work across the street from another Subaru dealership, but decided to give him a visit. I wasn't really looking to buy anything yet (actually bought a new tire for my Honda Civic that morning)....well I got lucky...Matt was working the day I stopped in and was available to help me. He was courteous and very not at all pushy. As an older, single women, buying a car can be very intimating.......Not with Matt Mazza at Pinebelt. Everyone I spoke to there from the General Manager to the financial manager were so nice. People who work at Pinebelt really do want their customers to leave there satisfied. I will never buy a car anywhere else and hope my friends and family visit them too. Love my new car!!!!!!

Bait and Switch with TrueCar Pricing

by rickrossi11 on 12/31/2015

I have never had a more dishonest car buying experience. Pine Belt Subaru is a leading TrueCar dealership in Monmouth/Ocean county however they are abusing the program for leased vehicles. Even though we came into the showroom with a Truecar certificate, when we received the lease paperwork we only received between $0-$500 off MSRP. MSRP to Invoice on a Subaru is around $3000. The dealership receives volume kickbacks from the manufacturer that allows them to sell cars at or below invoice. Even though Pine Belt is a volume dealership they still believe they should make $1000 or more above invoice. Please read over your contract carefully and make sure that box 14. (a) of your lease agreement "Itemization of Gross Capitalized Cost" represents your agreed to decrement under MSRP.

Worst car buying expierence ever!

by joannec3 on 09/19/2015

Beware of this dealership, this is the worst car buying expierence I have ever had. The manager Eric is not to be trusted at all. Please just buy your car anywhere but Pinebelt you will save yourself a lot of money, and avoid the shady dealings of this dealership.

The worst dealership I have ever been to.

by thegibsta on 01/14/2015

This is a truthful review you can take it at what it's worth. I will tell you that the salesman have no say whats so ever. The final decision comes from the general manager who's name is Jamie. I worked out a long negotiation process on a used vehicle. The asking price was online for 12999.00. The description of the vehicle was not correct online. I explained to my salesman Paul that because the vehicle was missing items such as a spare tire, spare rim, tire mount for the rim and tire I would put an offer in at 11,000.00. General Manager Jamie like I said makes the final call on all negotiations. He counter offered at 11,600.00. We finally agreed to a price of 11,300.00. I asked if I could take the vehicle to my personal mechanic and he agreed. My mechanic went thru the entire vehicle and found some items that need to be repaired. I gave the list to my salesman Paul. The vehicle needed a drive shaft and front upper ball joint, has a frozen tire sensor and a few other items such as a leaky radiator cap and blown out marking bulbs and a front headlight that was not working. I told Paul about the front headlight not working when I took it for a test drive a week earlier but Jamie decided a front headlight is not important. I returned to Pine Belt Subaru and gave the list to my salesman Paul from my mechanic. I told Paul the additional cost for parts and labor would be around 1000.00. They dropped the price down from 11,300.00 to 11,000.00 that's 300.00. we agreed to the price of 11,000.00 I put a 500.00 deposit down and told the I would come back the next day late in the afternoon and would pay cash. The next day I called and asked a simple question which I think is not something that would be out of the norm. I asked since it will be dark when I purchase the vehicle could you please put a bulb in the front headlight so I could drive home safely. My salesman Paul said no you are buying the vehicle as is so we will not replace the front headlight bulb. I asked to speak to the General Manager Jamie and this is where it gets real bad. I inform Jamie that I will be in at 4:30 pm to purchase the vehicle could you have the parts department put a bulb in the front headlight so I could drive home safely in the dark. Jamie says to me no we will not put a bulb in the front headlight there is no more negotiating on this vehicle. I said to Jamie why would you let a vehicle that you know has only one headlight leave your lot at night after a sale. Jamie tells me if you don't want to drive the vehicle home and feel it's unsafe without a headlight We can call the whole deal off and we will refund your 500.00 dollars. I could not believe that Jamie was willing to cancel the deal we maid because he would not put a bulb in the headlight. I accepted Jamie's offer of cancelling the sale and getting my deposit back. I still can't believe that a dealership like Pine Belt would cancel a cash deal that was made on one of there used vehicle because the General Manager Jamie refused to put a bulb in a headlight. I am writing this so that everyone knows my story and it is 100 percent the truth. I wonder if the President of Pine Belt knows about this. I will try to find a way to let the owners know.

pleasant buying experience

by kelopi on 01/08/2015

I have purchased 2015 Subaru Outback premium 2.5. I was very pleased with their Internet Sales dept.'s quick response through emails about my questions. Actual buying experience was flawless. Very knowledgeable sales staff, especially my salesman Matt gave me all the informations I need to know about the vehicle while we doing the test drive. Until doing the Paper there was some wating, other than that total buying experience with Pine belt subaru was very pleasant car buying experience. By the way, this car is my first subaru and I like it a lot.

A happy New Subaru Outback Owner

by MagMc on 11/20/2014

Up-beat surroundings in the show room. Friendly service. I did research before hand so that helped eliminate time spent at the dealership. I was very happy with the sales service of Jim P. at Pinebelt Subaru.

Waste of time

by fourml8r on 04/10/2014

I had a lengthy email correspondence with Erin in the internet Department regarding a 2014 Subaru XV Crosstrek. I let her know it was a 2 hour drive to get to her dealership and I was not going to come unless the deal was worth it. I was informed that the posted price was $25,356. The manager would be able to discuss further discounts. That additional discount ended up being ZERO. Their price was $600 more than comparable dealers. Next came the trade in. I specifically asked for the Galves values knowing they would offer wholesale trade in value. She refused to send it (That should have been a clue). They referred me to the KBB website which showed a $9,500 trade in value. The car needed a $250 windshield so I informed her I would be looking for a $9,000 trade in value. She said that they were in that range. She was offered $8,350 which was less than the listed value for a car in ROUGH condition. The car is in far from rough condition. Then came the financing. They offered a rate 0.5% ABOVE what other dealers were offering. The finance manager was unwilling to even try to get a better rate and provided a reply that "You can get your own financing". Why go to a dealership then? All in all their net price would have ended up being $1500 MORE than comparable dealers. Not to mention 6 hours of wasted time.

bait and switch

by steveyak on 01/08/2014

I went into this dealer, to look at an new impreza. They pushed a little to show me a used one they had been using as a loner car, we agreed on a price and some add on options they would include(roof rack). told me to take the car home for the night and see how I like it. So I did when I returned the next day ready to purchase the car, they said ohh sorry we made a mistake and we have to charge you $600 more and can not include the add ons we promised. I refused the car. the following day a got a follow up call asking how my experience was. I told the lady what happened, she said she would see what she could do. she called back, acknowledged what the salesman and sales manager had done and said she could give it to me for $500 more than they quoted and no parts. They were pleasant but lacked any integrity. I feel my time was totally wasted.

Dishonest manager

by MaritzaRA on 05/20/2013

I just purchased a 2014 silver Forester at Subaru Pine Belt in Lakewood. Although everyone was very friendly I feel like I was mislead. John M. and I shoke hands on sale price plus fees, After signing the title to my trade in, transferring the insurance, etc. etc. . my head was spinning (after signing so many forms). The last form to sign was the purchase form. In that form, the sale price on the top line before fees, was NOT what we had agreed upon. At that point, there is no turning back. I would advise customers to ask to sign the purchase deal form first!!!! I should have shopped across the street at Honda.

good experience

by ann_s on 07/24/2010

Agreed to a price on the phone and they stuck to it when I got there. They did try to negate the price I had been given by another dealer at first then agreed to go lower. Price was the lowest quote I got and I went out of state as far a Maryland to get a better price. Felt I was well treated. I would recommend doing price homework first. When I went in I had a folder full of other dealers and prices that had been agreed to by other dealers. I was very satisfied.
