Unprofessional Cheats

by car202020 on 06/10/2019

Matt Haiken, Chris Mazzeo, and Luis Nieves are the most horrific humans to deal with when purchasing a car. They are deceitful, vague, and non responsive in order to cheat you out of every penny. DO NOT USE PRESTIGE VOLVO. I spent $27,975.34 (bought at sticker price) on a pre-owned 2016 Volvo S60 Inscription T5 Drive-E Premier. The issue was when I drove off the lot and did not spot a small crack in the bottom middle of the windshield and two dents on the hood. Shame on me for missing that. I texted Luis a few hours after leaving the lot with pictures of what I found. He said he would talk to his manager and see what he could do. This all happened on a Tuesday. I stopped by on a Saturday unannounced and Luis was not there and of course that gem of a General Manager Chris Mazzeo was too busy to help. One of the business managers helped me out and said they would repair the windshield as he was a safety issue but he had to check with the manager or owner about the dents. This is when the real issues began. Luis all of a sudden did not respond to by texts or emails until I wrote an email that I was disappointed. When he responded it was vague and not helpful. I then emailed the President, Matthew Haiken, who certainly is not deserving of that title. He pushed the email to Chris Mazzeo since, Matt was conveniently out of the country. A few weeks later as of Friday, June 6th, he was still out of the country as I was told by Luis. This has caused much unneeded aggravation and nothing has been solved. I was willing to take off this Tuesday, June 11th, and drop the car off per the email chain below. Why even bother and waste my vacation time as Matt can not even respond back to a simple email. Mind you, I do not live close to the dealership. They will just continue to give me the runaround over a couple hundred dollars. This was the first car I bought in 20 years. Such a shame. Bottom line, don’t use Prestige Volvo, it is anything but Prestigious.

Fraudulent / Dishonest / Unprofessional

by joeyg3 on 06/21/2015

I purchased a used, 2006 Volvo S40 from this establishment on 3/21/15 and experienced a multitude of service and integrity issues which are listed below: 1. Vehicle was fraudulently listed as having 52k miles. After purchasing the vehicle, I recognized that it actually had 57k miles (a difference of 10%). Kelley Blue Book values the difference at $250. The dealership refused to compensate me for this difference. When I called them about this I was told “It must have been a typo”…how convenient 2. Vehicle only came with one key (as opposed to the typically two keys, especially considering that it was purchased from a Volvo dealership). This was not revealed to me until after I signed the paperwork to purchase the vehicle. The manager of the store committed to sending us a 2nd key which never occurred, nor would he respond to my follow-up. When I called about this I was told “You can’t expect two keys with a car that is 10 years old”…Really? 3. The dealership was supposed to send us our license plate and registration within 15 days which is when the temp tags expired. We did not receive the plate and registration for more than 3 weeks so I was unable to legally drive the car. After multiple inquiries about the missing tags went unanswered, they finally committed to sending me an extension letter, however that never happened. When the tags were finally delivered it was delivered to the wrong address (even though they specifically told me that they would call to confirm the delivery address prior to sending). 4. The owner’s manual was missing which I did not discover until several weeks after the vehicle purchase. The sleeve for the manual was in the glove compartment, but it was filled with other documents in a deceptive manner. 5. Upon receiving letters from various financing companies after purchasing the vehicle, I learned that several financing options were withheld from me. I specifically stated that I wanted to consider a longer-term financing option and was told that 5 years was the longest that any of the lenders would agree to. However, I received an approval letter several weeks later from a lender which offered a 6.5 year term. The only logical explanation for this is a lower kick-back from this lender…Why else would the offer not have been at least presented to me…Totally unprofessional!...When I called about this I was told that “it must not have been a good offer”…That is a decision that is up to me to make; not them

Another [violative content deleted]!!

by mrk7367 on 11/07/2011

I went in to get Costco member price from the dealer, and he had [violative content deleted] to tell me I should look at cheaper car, because the car I was looking at was too expensive for me. Where is the professionalism? When do you ever treat a customer like that? I too have a small business, I will surely be out of business soon if I or any of my sales team pull a stunt like that!!

Great buying experience...

by beccamsw on 06/02/2008

My experience with this dealership was largely shaped by my mulitple contact with the sales associate "Chuck" in person, via phone, and via email. There was no overt indicator or feeling of being "pressured" to make an on the spot decision about the purchase. The sale associate appeared genuine and was able to tolerate, my skepticism about "car sales man" and obtaining a fair deal (especially b/c i am a woman). My sales associate was patient, informative, helpful, and humorous. This dealership considered matching an offer from another dealer, and ended up giving me an even better deal. This dealership is One of the best, and I would highly recommend. The dealership also offerred opportunities for financing, however with my excellent credit rating, i chose to finance with my credit union instead. In my opinion a trusted establishment and more importantly a non-profit organization. Unfortunately, my skepticism about car dealerships especially the financing portion via the dealer had not completely been ameliorated (nothing particular to this delearship). The finance person seemed almost resentful/dissappointed when he became aware that i financed elsewhere....(due to a loss in commission?....who knows...). I wanted to trade in my old vehicle, but the delearship wanted to offer next to nothing for it, but was encouraged by them to sell privately. I did, and got three times what they wanted to pay. Like i said, the sales associate was great. I did not finance with them, although they offered to beat the credit union's rate. I guess for people with limited options for financing, the dealership can provide one for them. I would highly recommend this dealer ship.
