TRICKED TO DRIVE 1h30 TO SEE A CAR THEY DID NOT HAVE!

by Thiago Lopes on 08/02/2021

I texted with Anthony at Cherry hill Mitsubishi because I was interested in a 2022 Outlander SEL AWD. I asked him to confirm via text if the one they had there was AWD and he confirmed. While on my way there, WITH MY WHOLE FAMILY, including a 3 years old, I called Anthony again confirming that I was on my way and I asked again if the car they had was the AWD, he actually told me that they had 2, a Black and a Brown. Perfect right? So I drove from PA to NJ just to see this car. Upon my arrival I met Antonio who passed me to Matt who got a copy of my driver’s license and then I met CHRIS. He asked which car I was interested and Antonio told him, “take him to see the Black SEL”. So far so good! We walked to the car and the first question I asked was: is this AWD? He says.. no, this is a FWD. So I said, wait a minute, can you show me the AWD? Then he says, we only have this one. That’s when my frustration level started to get high.. and got even higher when he said: why do you need an AWD? You should be perfectly fine with this car. Ok, that was the tipping point but I kept my poker face… We walked back to the store while my family was still waiting inside the car in the parking lot, my wife, my 3 year old and my 11 year old. Then he suggests: can we work some numbers if I find you a car? Because I was motivated to buy a car, I said: sure, if you can come up with something really good, we can have some commitment today. They made me and my family wait for another 30 min to tell me that they might get cars next week and they would call me. I said thanks and drove off… While driving home the “Manager” called me and said he didn’t know anything that just happened and “apologized”. I said, fine, no worries, if you can get a car with a fair deal for me that’s worth another 3 hours drive with my family, call me and we can discuss. Question is: should I trust them again? Next time you call them, be really sure that you get the facts straight before you go… That was my experience… you can rate if it was good or bad…

I Wish I Could Give Negative 5 Stars

by BuddysEars on 11/22/2016

I arrived at Cherry Hill Mitsubishi at approximately 2:30 in the afternoon. I saw the vehicle in the lot so I decided to stop. Before I was even allowed to test drive the car was made to sign a paper (that they did not give me a copy of) that stated" if we get you financed, I will purchase the vehicle". I sat at the dealership until approximately 8:30PM at which time (after running my credit about 20 times) they finally got me financed. By the time they took me back to sign papers until 9:30pm (they were already closed), I am disabled, I was tired, hungry, in a great deal of pain and my contact lenses were drying out. I was not afforded anytime to look at the papers they were just thrown at me one after the other in a great big rush. Basically they wore me down. I was told they were going to give me $500 for my trade-in and I said fine because knew my car wasn't worth much. They instead gave me $4000, then they charged me an extra $4600 on the price of my new vehicle? I said fine on $500. Anyway, the sticker price of the vehicle was $15,225. I was supposed to look at a used car the following day that was only $1000 less, so opted to get the brand new car. The next day, looked at the papers, they charged me almost $20,000 for the vehicle AND they charged me $2500 for a service contract. (I NEVER would pay for a service contract when there were 4 different kinds of warranties that came with the car.) I tried to contact them immediately, but the General Manager Bill Kopp never got back to me until it was too late for me to file for arbitration. Based on all of the many lawsuits and fines levied against this company I'm surprised they are still in business. By the time finish paying for my $15225 vehicle, I will have put out over $30,000. This is not only highway robbery, it is a crime. Along with this complaint, have also filed complaints with the Consumer Advocate of NJ and the Federal Trade Commission. The way see it, this is what should be financing. It should be this: Price of unit $15225.00 Less Trade-in - 4,000.00 Total Taxable Amt $11,225.00 Plus 7%. Sales Tax +1,065.75 Plus MV Tire Fee + 7.9 Plus Estimated MV Fees +130.00 Plus document Fee +299.00 TOTAL $12,736.20 Less Rebate -3500.OO I should be financing $9.236.20 I wouldn’t even set foot in there even if I was being chased by a gun wielding lunatic. They can’t EVER make this right.

Great Experience - Love my new Outlander SEL

by EZRider on 11/01/2016

We called and spoke to Don Sowney, he was extremely helpful during our phone call and convinced my wife and I to stop in to receive a free gift. We made an appointment and immediately fell in love with the Mitsubishi Outlander. Although they didn't have the exact vehicle we saw online Don helped us find a similar vehicle that was a little newer with less miles. It was a little more money which is understandable but well worth it. My payment is actually lower now anyway. I love my new car and would highly recommend this dealership to anyone.

Horrible dealership

by hahahaha2 on 09/25/2015

These guys lie and waste your time Doug it. I spent over 6 hours leading a car and the sales rep TJ was clearly not aware of what his job was. He lied to me about returning a lease after 12 months to get a new lease and when I went back they told me the could give me a new car and double my payments. I actually filed a complaint with the BBB and the general manager Bill Kopp is [non-permissible content removed] and worse than TJ was. I would never step foot into this dealership or any of the triplex dealerships

The man and I were looking to secure a new vehicle - mid-sized SUV, for our lovely little blended family we have going on. We weren't sure if we were going to buy used, or try leasing. We have a pretty comfortable income since we both work good jobs, but a few credit dings (my student loans screw-ups right out of college, his previous marriage & subsequent divorce, life. It happens). We knew what we could afford, and also that we couldn't expect to get the top tier financing deals, but we felt confident after all of our research that we could get something affordable and dependable for general family use. Went to look at a lease/test drive. After some minor hassles with them holding our debit card hostage while looking at a used vehicle, we were passed off to a sales guy named Steve, who talked to us about leasing, and brought out a 2014 Mitsubuishi Outlander Sport for us to test drive. We LOVED the car (but didn't let on too much) - and in fairness, it's a great car. We were very interested, and started financing application/discussion/negotiation. We came to a deal (it was a bit more than we really wanted to pay - but we loved the car, and knew our credit didn't qualify us for the lowest rates, so we felt the deal was fair, even if the payments were a *bit* higher than we wanted. They took our deposit and we waited to sign our final contract and financials. And waited. And waited. And waiiiiited. After about 2 1/2 hours of waiting (going on 6 hours total in the dealership) - we were told that they were "so busy" that day that we would have to come back early the next week (it was Saturday) to finish our financials and sign our contract. We weren't thrilled about this. They told us it was fine, that the deal was set, and we just needed to sign - and then gave us one set of keys and sent us out with the car, saying we would get our second set after we signed. We set our signing for Tuesday night after work that week, and in between that time the man called at least 3 times to make sure the deal was good, and that we weren't going to face higher payments, basically making sure everything was OK. It should be said, my man is a mortgage loan officer not unfamiliar with standard banking and finance practices. Each time we called, we were told "everything is great! Just come sign your contract!" So we show up Tuesday night...and wait. And wait. And WAIT. For over an hour, after 9PM, and as they're closing, the finance guy/sales guy/overall sleezey dude (Chris K.) runs up to us and goes "Oh guys, I'm so sorry - my manager JUST gave me this) - and on it is a paper basically saying that the payments are ACTUALLY going to be $100 more a month than the deal they offered, based on our credit tier. So, recap: They offer a deal, take our money, give us a car, have us sign ZERO paperwork, and then, when we are supposed to finalize the deal, tell us "JK! More Money!" We were angry, obviously. It's one thing to not qualify or get the deal you want based on credit, which we totally get - but they knew what credit tier we were in the minute they ran our credit the first time around. If we truly did not qualify for the deal that was offered, it should have NEVER been offered to us - not only that, they should have never taken money from us or give us a vehicle based on a deal that was never going to exist. They told us that they would "work on it" and get back to us the next day. We were so furious by then (in addition to not hearing from them the next day) that we decided to just take the car back that evening and get our money back. We got to return the car, and get put through 2 other salespeople, trying to offer us a "new" deal that's now $50 a month over the original deal. We say no. We want the original deal offered, or nothing. They say they can't do it - but STILL keep trying to talk us into the offer. We tell them over and over we want our deposit back ans want to leave. Finally, Chris K., whatever it is that he does there, I have no idea of his title, tells us he can cut us a check for our deposit to pick up tomorrow. We make him put this in writing and sign it. He says we can keep the car until then - but like heck we're doing that! So yesterday, we go to pick up the check - not surprisingly, they can't cut the check because "the guy who needs to sign it isn't here today". So they offer to refund via the debit card (which I don't trust at all). We finally agree to have them reverse it on the card. That was yesterday. Still haven't seen it on my bank statement. I just want this to be over, and I have a feeling it's not over yet. Stay far, far away.

I thought they were great. My credit has been bad ever since I had to file for bankruptcy but decided to stop in and see if I qualified. To my surprise, they were able to get me not just any USED car but a NEW car. It’s my first new car and I’m so excited. Thank you Alex!

Rip off dealership

by peeowed on 01/31/2013

I bought a used car from this dealership and bought the after market warranty. I was told that if ANYTHING needs to be serviced, anywhere in the USA, all I would have to pay is my $100 deductible. Well, just past the dealership warranty, 90 days, but just before owning the car for a full 6 months, I had to take the vehicle in due to a check engine light coming on. $2000 later, the "Preferred" warranty that I paid for only covers the $6 gasket. This is a $10,000 vehicle!!! The dealership NEVER checked this car out before re-selling it and if they did, they are even worse than I already think they are! The paper the warranty comes on is worth more than the actual warranty. I will never, ever, ever refer anyone to this dealership for New or Used vehicle & Zuric Preferred Warranty Co is useless!!! I don't know how these people live with themselves...you should be ashamed.

Believe the other reviews. Dont waste your time with this dealership

by lancer8 on 04/03/2011

I usually dont take sales traps very personal but the cherry hill triplex dealership is all lies. They gave me a low price quote and when we went there, they said it was a mistake and gave us another amount which was 4k more than the quote. The personal will rush you through the entire process and wont give you time to digest all the random information they shower on you. Fellow buyers Watch out!!!

Don't waste your time with these guys

by gski1 on 03/20/2011

To much to list all the negatives so here's the biggies: 1. Bait and switch, negotiated a 2011 on the phone, got there and they pulled out a 2010. 2. Asked for my drivers license and I discovered 2 days later trying to buy the car at a reputable dealership that Cherry Hill never gave it back to me. They had my contact info & never called to tell me they had it. 3. Made an "appointment" to come in and they jerked me around for 45 minutes until the guy I was looking for came out. 4. Said they'd get the car and call me the next day. Unreturned phone calls, when I went back for my license he said he was too busy to call me...I was the only one there (wonder why). 5. Cherry Hill epitomized the negative car dealer stereotype. Your time would be better spent trying to get the CEO of Mitsubishi Motors to give you a car.

Don't buy from Cherry Hill Triplex!

by promotions on 05/04/2010

All lies just to get you to the dealership. Don't waste your time with them! I was contaced by the sales manager and told by him that they have 4 to 5 of the exact vehicle with the exact packages I was looking for with pre-negociated price. When I got there the next day, there was none, and I was asked to look at other trims in the lot. If that was not lie, what is?! Save your time and aggravation, check out other dealerships.

Don't buy from this dealership lies and unprofessional team

by fish976 on 04/28/2010

They are unprofessional and [violative content deleted] don't buy here!!! I called this dealer on a New Jeep Wrangler Unlimited, I specified all the options I needed and the sale person confirmed they had the vehicle I was looking for. We agreed on the price and asked for the window sticker of the car and she faxed it over to me. All the options were listed except for the dual top which we agreed she said it had. So she confirmed with her manger that it did and emailed me back confirming the deal. Here are the emails I trail.... Ed, This is a confirmation of our appointment tonight at 7:45 for a 2010 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Sahara 4x4 in white. This is to additionally confirm that the vehicle I sent you the window sticker for, last 6 of the VIN 164260, includes both the hard and soft top. Your price with the rebates is $31,526. Please remember to ask for Antonio or Rich when you arrive. Thank you, Would you be able to write this up buyers agreement and sent it to me. I don't want to drive 90 minutes to find out this is not what I am expecting. Thanks for your help much appreciated! Thanks, Ed In NJ the Buyer's agreement is contractual and cannot be done unless you are here in the store. I faxed you the actual window sticker of the Jeep and it is here in the store waiting for you. It is exactly what you are expecting. If you can't trust a sales person, who can you trust? See you tonight? Ok, I will be there tonight. I just wanted to make sure I am not hit with extra fees when I get there. I know you have my car for $31,526 The only extra fees are your taxes/tags and our doc fee that we discussed of $149. I wouldn't want to deal with the kind of Karma I'd be hit with for bringing someone here from NY and everything not being as I said it would be. Drive safely! Ok, so when I arrived there and spoke to Antonio he had no idea who or what I was there for. He pasted me over to a sales man to show me the car. We found the vehicle on the lot but the keys were missing. Going back into the showroom another sales man said that car is not for sale it was already swapped out to another dealer. After arguing for 30 minutes with them they said now they can sell me the car...Next they asked how I was going to pay for the car and I was putting down cash and financing the rest. So they ask for my credit card and immediately credited my account and asked me to sign it. They didn't even show me the agreement yet. Next, was my trade-in, KBB for trade-in lowest value was $2900 and they offered me $1000 low blow and two other dealers offered $2500 or more. Next, they said this vehicle only has 1 top not dual tops. I and specifically said needed both and confirmed by the salesman in emails it included both. So now it was getting late and the sales team was just jerking me around. After all this I still agreed to buy the car and the dealer would not do anything for the troubles and lies they are putting me through. This is a very unprofessional dealership with bait and switch tactic I would not recommend buying here.....

They are [violative content deleted] and don't buy here!

by chryhltricrks on 04/05/2010

I have found out they did the "bait and switch" tactic on me. The suckered me into a nice car but when I said I wanted to buy it somehow it was "sold." The said they would find me one that was exactly alike which they didn't. They rushed me around the car so I wouldn't notice the missing items but told me it was just like the other. I didn't realize it was missing items until I was driving home. It was missing the popular equipment group package that has the fog lights, cruise control....They also messed up the contract and tried to charge me for the more expensive 2010 Jeep Liberty. To boot there is no owners manual!

cherry hill triplex

by pdughi on 08/26/2009

I went with my exhusband to "clunk" his truck. I explained that I did not want my name on any of the clunker paperwork to the government. They promised that my name would not be on there but when I tried to "clunk" my old jeep, I couldn't do it because they had put my name on the paperwork and to do so they had to specifically add it on. I found this action deceitful- I asked them not to put my name on anything, and told them what I was doing with my son's jeep. I did not sign any of the "clunker" paperwork and they should not have put my name on it. When I found out and called to complain, they tried to get me to come there for a new car- perhaps they knew what would happen and that was their plan all along? Also, be careful of the prices- they add $2,000 to the sticker price you see on the car for their profit.

First Kia purchase, not thrilled with the process

by baltimore_jeff on 01/30/2008

We purchased a new Kia Rondo from Cherry Hill in Dec '07. After a year I have only been back there one time for a warranty issue and nothing else. The overall process wasn't terrible, but they certainly don't make it easy to buy a car there. After finding the exact model that I wanted (they had the only one east of the Mississippi at the time), we called to ask the sales person to hold the car so that myself, my wife and 2 small kids could come down and try it out. I was pretty well convinced that this was the car I wanted before we ever got there. Since it was my wife's car it was really only a veto vote for her to say it was acceptible or not. After meeting the saleperson I spoke with on the phone, we piled in and took it for a test drive. My wife got to drive most of the way. She liked it quite a bit. We got back to the dealership and then everything just went downhill. The showroom was really, really loud, they played music at much too high a volume, I was shouting just to be heard. I had my own financing in hand but the manager insisted on giving him a shot to beat it. I let him. This process took over 2.5 hours! There is no place to sit, no food or drinks, no place for the kids certainly. When the finance finally came back it was over twice the rate that I already had! Some waste of time. After such a long ordeal waiting for paperwork (which they messed up), waiting for the car detailing (which was pretty poor), waiting for the financing (that was a joke), it was just too much. Now this was my first KIA, although I had a Hyundai Elantra before and loved it. But it was clear that this dealership was set up to deal with people that had bad credit, no work history, could not afford a car, didn't know the process and didn't know what was going on in general. Since I was none of those things, clearly this was not where I should have been. What I don't know is if they assume that only these kinds of people would buy a KIA, or if KIA's should only be sold to those kinds of people. They had the car I wanted, they were a little low on the trade in and a little high on the price, but I had an older car and I wanted a VERY new car, so that is to be expected. Either way I left unimpressed with the dealership. Love the car, it continues to be great. But wholly unimpressed with the dealership.
