Rude, Dishonest, Disrespectful

by noelle7514 on 04/30/2017

I was kept waiting for 5 hours here, during which time these salesmen tried every trick in the book to scam me. We arrived at 1:30PM and did not leave until 6:30PM and we were so disgusted that we did not even buy a car. I had told them exactly which new car I wanted before I came and initially they told me that car was unavailable and the only version they had was the demo version (with over 1000 miles on it!). After showing them my calculations of the TrueCar price (which they said they would honor) they came back with their price and added an extra $800 "fee" on and did not explain what this was for. Jimmy, the overweight older gentleman, hovered over us an our sales assistant while we showed him our calculations, and repeatedly shut us up, rolled his eyes at us, and waved us away and told us to "stop doing that" when we took out our calculator to determine the correct price. As soon as we got strict with him and said that they needed to stick with the correct True Car price or we would leave, he then quickly walked away to go reanalyze the price. They sent 5+ different salesmen over to us during the course of our time there, and every time they would go away to "help us out" they would leave us waiting for 20+ minutes. The whole process was likely drawn out purposefully. Eventually, when we said that we did not want the demo car with 1200 miles, they were magically able to find another car of the same model, which they said was on another lot across the street. It took them 45 minutes to go get this car for us. They told us this car had 23 miles on it. When we went to look at it it had 700+. At another point, they told us to follow them outside because they had found a few other cars of the same model. We followed them around and they showed us one car, only to find out a few minutes later it was already sold! Then they took us to another car that they said was the model we wanted, but it was a 2016! Giovanni was hands down the most disrespectful and dishonest of them all. We had been told on the phone that I qualified for a $400 graduate rebate, and he flat-out refused to give it to us and did not apologize for it. He said that he would make up for it by giving us a whole full tank of gas, like that was a big deal. Every dealership does that when you buy a new car! After 5 hours, they finally somehow found the car that I had initially came to the dealership for in the first place, but weren't able to bring it to the lot for me to buy it. I will not come here ever again and will not recommend this dealership to anyone. I feel sorry for the less well-researched car purchasers who have been scammed here in the past.

They will not stop calling you

by Dwinograsky on 04/26/2017

I bought a car from Cherry Hill kia in 2014. The car and the deal was fine, I have no complaints about that. But since then I get calls from them all the time. They will try and sell you a new car. Claim to want to buy your old car and so on.... I have asked nicely, even demand they take me off their cold call list. But the calls keep coming. I work at night and sleep during the day, but have to keep my phone on for emergencies. So every time they call me they wake me up. This is by far the worst, rudest dealership I have dealt with. I would not even think of giving them one more dollar of mine or consider taking my car there for maintenance again. If you see this CHK please.... again stop [non-permissible content removed] calling me. If this continues to happen in am contacting an attorney and will litigate. Go ahead and buy a car from these [non-permissible content removed] and be prepared for the endless calls.

Fantastic Dealership!

by GGrudziak on 04/03/2017

Had a fantastic experience. Serge and Giovanni helped me get a 2017 Kia Sorento SX AWD loaded for a great price. Best every other dealership! Also took my 2014 Dodge Durango for trade so I didn't have to return it to the leasing dealership. Great experience overall, and definitely recommend!

Internet lies

by automoviler on 03/07/2017

The dealership from the outside looks fine, but inside it looks worse for wear. Arrived mid-morning for a test drive of a vehicle found online and the showroom was full of aged, cheap plastic furniture, and looks like it hadn't had it's floor mopped or buffed in a month or more. Test drive went fine but the negotiations were insulting. They tried to give me a line that the CarGurus posted price for the new (leftover 2016) cars were only what "they" the website posted. I know that's a lie and I called out the sales guy on it. Dude acted like people weren't going to use the Internet to find out the invoice price and compare on a site like Gurus that gathers prices within a fixed area. Anyhow, it then took nearly an hour of back and forth to get with a 1000 of the CarGurus price--the original quote I was given was 5000 above the stated price online. Obviously they use the internet pricing as a lure. It's a cheap tactic. But what do you expect in the car sales business--hopefully better, but expect that this is the experience that you'll receive. After negotiations got the price close to the online statement, then had to wait 3 hours to get through the financing office because there was only 1 person working there. The individuals on their own were fine enough to deal with, but the tactics are underhanded--but obvious if you know what to expect and look for and do a bit of research and stand firm.

Worst experience ever

by ChefDave on 02/03/2017

Would have given it zero stars if I could! Don't know where to start... show room was dirty and ghetto. My sales person didn't even have his own desk. He was defensive, ignorant and very unprofessional. Didn't answer any of my questions, just danced around them. The wost part was I drove an hour to view 4 cars that were displayed on their website. Only had ONE of them and did not honer the internet price! It was all a lie to get you in there. They wanted almost 3k more than advertised priced! Worst experience ever

Bait and switch

by Malena9 on 08/23/2016

Had seen online a used car they had that fit what I needed. After traveling an hour to get there, I give them my info so that I can test drive the car. Gave them all the info they needed to find the car (their stock number too!), and yet they made me wait for a solid 15 min while the salesman was doing god knows what on the computer. While I was waiting, I heard another customer yell at a saleslady telling her "so you did not tell me you no longer had it because you figured you could still get me in the door! that's the old bait and switch tactic!". The saleslady said "Oh it was probably just sold and the system did not get a chance to update, but let me show you some other ones we have....". My salesman finally comes back and takes me to the back of the parking lot and shows me a car that is the same make/model/color.... but not the car I asked for. I told him this is not it, it does not have leather seats. Then he tells me "are you sure it had leather seats?" I said "yes, your listing said so". He replies "our listings says that you should check with us about the accuracy of the listed features..." Really? He then takes me to the other end of the lot and shows me yet another car with same make/model/color... but still not the right one. We go back to the first one because he's convinced it is it, and that the listing was wrong about the leather seats. I look at the stock number and it is different from the one I had given him. He finally accepts that none of these two cars are the one I asked for. We go back inside and he spends another 10 minutes trying to search his database. He comes back and says the database says the car is still in the lot and he's going to go ask someone to help him find it. Conveniently, the sales manager comes over and tries to do small chat. The salesperson comes back and tells me the car was sold, that the system probably did not get a chance to be updated! So I said thank you and tried to leave. Both men try to chat me up some more. I know they are going to try to sell me some other comparable car but I am convinced they knew the car I wanted was gone from the first moment I gave them the stock number... So no way. Not staying. I took off. I don't think it is a coincidence that two people looking for two different cars were not able to see the car they wanted because the car had just sold and the system had not been updated.... BAIT AND SWITCH. I will never set foot in that place again.

Turn in old lease and picked up new lease. Asked about payments on old lease. Was told not to worry. They would take care of them. THEY DID NOT. Selective memory. They told me they did not say they would pay old lease off. I guess I like paying TWO lease payments. Phones calls were never returned. Lied about being approved and called a liar by the GM

by romelo30 on 03/23/2016

Went there to get a 09 pilot on wednesday the 16th and we explained what we had to put down, my wifes income and we were told they could help. They told us to leave the deposit and take the car home and that when the finance manager comes in that friday he will call the underwriter and ask for a favor. friday i get a call to bring in more paperwork and i asked for status and was told that it was going real good, looks like a done deal, he also told us come back monday afternoon because the weekend was very busy. Monday i got a reminder call and i asked again for status and i was told that we just needed to go in and sign for the car to take ownership. We got there and it was all a lie, they didn't find us a bank and were still working on it, so i asked them why was i told that we were approved? no one knew why. we sat there from 530 to 9 and we left without the car. I told them i was going to take it to the GM, what a mistake, Mr. cobb the Gm called me after me leaving him a message with a nasty attitude, "what do you want? he said and when i tried to explain he said he already knew the situation, the story his employees gave him and told me "your just mad because you lied in your application and didn't get approved" i was floored, he had me on speaker phone and said hurry up and say what you have to say. I asked him where was he at so i can go and speak to him and he said the kia lot and hanged up the phone. Our characters were completely assassinated by their employees and their GM finished the job...

AVOID AT ALL COSTS

by jjl9 on 04/01/2015

Short version: These people are terrible. I wish that it were possible to give them negative stars. Long version:When I arrived to the Kia dealership, I was greeted by rude and unpleasant man. When I told him that I had an inquiry in to see the 2007 Toyota Camry, he arrogantly told me that me that he thinks it was sold already. When I asked for Jimmy or Bernard, he told me to wait a few minutes. After a few minutes, I asked if by a "few minutes," he meant a few minutes or 15 minutes. He said 10 minutes. Standing there, I saw a number of idling salesmen and a number of very frustrated looking customers. I spoke to one and they told me that they were actually trying to return a car that they had recently bought. They had been lied to about the condition of it. We walked out immediately. On top of this, previous to going to the showroom, I was annoyingly pressed with emails ensuring that I would come in. This experience has been a waste of time and money for me as a customer.

Take Your Business Elsewhere

by doug19060 on 04/19/2014

Made a purchase at this dealership in March 2014. Vehicle selection was not anywhere near what is advertised on their web site. Price discounts were nothing special, certainly nothing worth the distance we traveled to this dealership. You will need to put up with the usual "I'll need to clear this with my manager" while you sit in a cubicle for a while. And they will hard sell you an extended warranty. No less than three different employees took a crack at us. Talk about a time investment: it took them almost eight hours to get a used SUV ready for us. And they didn't even wash it. Our salesman appeared helpful but in the end was the opposite. The car we looked at had a damaged driver's side floor mat, which he promised to replace for us. When we drove it off the lot, there were a pile of floor mats in the back BUT he never replaced the original damaged mat. We discovered we were minus a floor mat when we got home. Upon calling the dealership, our helpful salesman denied the entire thing and said the car was "as is," since it was not a certified used car. Which is true and legal. As is this review. An overall negative experience. There are plenty of other dealerships out there that want your business and will treat you better.

Can I pick zero stars??

by amcad23 on 08/23/2013

Let's first discuss how on a Wednesday I called my salesman to see a car I viewed online the following Saturday. When I got there at 8 am Saturday, the car had been "sold". His response? "oh, did you get my message?" No Herman, of course I did not get your message, because you didn't leave one. So he shows me a comparable car that I did like. Silly me thinking the car was comparable! They wanted almost FIVE GRAND more than what the car was worth. It was a 2008 with almost 80k! Can you say rental! I didn'y mind purchasing a car with extensive miles; I own two other (much older) cars with way more miles and they are problem free. So on Monday I come to pick up my new car (which of course I still overpaid for, but that's any dealership nowadays). On my way home I realize my 6 disc CD changer doesn't work-FAB. Neither does my outlet- EVEN BETTER. The car was oddly pulling to the left, even though it didn't do that during the test drive. So I go in on Friday for service-keep in mind I have had the car a total of FOUR days at this point. On my way in, the sunroof breaks. So service tells me I need an alignment, AND A NEW SUNROOF! $1500!! I spoke to the sales floor manager Bernard, who said "I'll take care of it". So in order to get an alignment (which by the way is NOT covered under warranty, and they try to make you feel special by throwing this 60 buck service in for free), you have to leave your car because they have to send it to another facility. THEY DO NOT HAVE LOANERS. So if you're like me and work an hour and a half away, you're completely screwed. But I left it, in hopes they would fix it. WRONG AGAIN! Bernard said he never said he would take care of, just that he would have it looked at---umm, hello...that was already done! So he tries to empathize with me by saying how everyone gets screwed over when buying a used car and he just bought one for his son and the transmission fell out and now he's stuck with it. So you're saying I got screwed over, and I'm stuck with it? Of course that's not what he's saying. Well BERNARD, when you empathize with someone, you're kind of leading them to believe you're on the same page! So yes, that's exactly what you were saying. So after my frustration I spoke with the general manager. He sends a guy out to check out my sunroof. Completely disregards the CD player issue cuz hey, when you pay extra for a "premier" car, it doesn't matter if the premier crap works or not! So Dan (the GM) gets back to me and says he's willing to split the cost of the sunroof with me, 500 bucks would be my total. Yea well, I spoke to the sunroof guy and he said the total to replace the sunroof would be $550...someone explain to me how $500 is half of that? Apparently they think women are stupid and they can just pull the wool over my eyes. Dan went on vacation and was supposed to call me on Thursday; well here it is Wednesday and have I heard from him? No. Has he returned my 3 phone calls from each day this week? No. To top everything else off, after these geniuses "fixed" my car with an alignment, now it is pulling so severe to the right that I am white-knuckling it every time I get into the car, which by the way I haven't driven in two weeks for my fear of my own safety. You know why it's pulling? Because my tire tread is at a 2! But of course, according to their safety inspection it is a 4; major difference, don't see how you can mess that one up. So all in all, I've had the car a month now. Probably drove it for a week total ,and now I'm out of at least a grand trying to fix my sunroof and tires. Way to go Cherry Hill Kia! You know exactly how to keep your customers happy! Screw em over, and pretend like you never met them as soon as they sign those papers. And thanks to the good old state of New Jersey, tires are no longer looked over during inspection! Way to keep us safe New Jersey. So the "guarantee of inspection" is still valid, and I'm still screwed. If you like pointless hour long stories, self righteous employees, and don't mind hearing from the secretary how her own employer has screwed her over on the car she purchased from them, then by all means go right on in to Cherry Hill Kia. Be a little cautious when entering the parking lot though, because the 17 yr old speed demons they have for lot attendants might just crash into you head on! Just keep in mind that once you purchase that vehicle they will treat you like your NOT a customer. Like you never were a customer, like they absolutely don't value your business, because honestly, they've already made the sale and the commission check is on it's way. No worries Cherry Hill Kia. You may not want to help me out, but the Better Business Bureau, Consumer Affairs, and Ford have been way more than helpful. Hope you hear from them soon!

We purchased our kia here

by bradfielder on 08/21/2013

We actually had a very good experience at Cherry Hill Kia. We had looked at several different SUVs but liked the KIA Sorento the best and Cherry Hill had lots to choose from. From the time we walked in the door to the time we pulled away in our new car, it was like two hours, which is pretty good in my book. I’ve spent hours at car dealerships before, only to leave without a car. That was not the case, they were respectful of my time and didn’t play any games. I will be back.

Most offensive place to get a car

by DLT2013 on 01/22/2013

This place is insulting to anyone who doesn't like loud throbbing music, an ordorless waiting area... The car was the only good thing about this place however recalls? never gave me a second key to my car? I was treated like crap by the very dealership that i bought my car from simply because my car issues were not something that needed to come out of my pocket. I still don't have a second key that they promised me and it's 2 years later! I have had games of phone tag w/ service over recalled parts for my car. Back and forth, parts here, i go there, oh, the part didn't come in. all the while paying a hefty bridge toll to go to these [non-permissible content removed]. They only care about new customers. once you buy a car there you are just another number they are trying to scew over.

STAY AWAY

by Rob_NJ on 01/14/2013

Old School Tactics is correct. Basically same as other reviewers - Said everyone was paying over sticker for the car I wanted, wouldn't budge off of sticker, or write anything down, or let me leave with anything in writing... Next day Matt the salesman texted me asking if he could help me with anything - I said actually yes, could he email me a copy of the window sticker on the car I test drove, or anything with the price, options etc. of the exact car I was looking at - he immediately got defensive, said the price hadn't changed, he's not allowed to give out that info - I should check their website for that info (I had already tried that and "detailed info not available at this time" is what I got from their site). Long story short - Very slimy experience. I walked into Burlington Kia 2 days later, and drove away in a 2013 Forte EX Premium Package for less than Cherry hill wanted for the more basic model.

Old-School Sales Tactics (in a digital world)

by fly_dc_jets on 08/12/2012

Earlier this year (2012) while shopping for a vehicle we visited Cherry Hill KIA. I took a Sedona for a test drive accompanied with a robotic sales person whose vehicle knowledge consisted of maybe reading the brochure. Then wanting to talk some numbers I was immediately given the two-step and handed off to the ‘assistant sales manager’. He began telling me about how he (or some other imaginary associate) took the Sedona down to Kings Dominion on half a tank of gas. “Dude - I can read the EPA sticker, I know how big the tank is, and I can do the math just fine! I need a price, not an ode to the Sedona. If I didn’t think the vehicle would serve my purpose I wouldn’t be in your cubicle.” So after hour of time wasting it was obvious that this was old-school sales tactics where I’d never get any firm numbers out of [non-permissible content removed] so I curtailed the niceties and left. Never to return! This is one concern I have with KIA. In its haste to gain market share in the US I fear it has allowed some less than scrupulous dealers into it stable. And unfortunately it would appear that Cherry Hill KIA likely one of them. We did buy a Sedona (working great) from another area dealer that had no issues talking price, knowing full well that I wouldn’t be leaving with a car that day; “Hey that’s why they call it shopping for a car”. Let’s face it cars today are all so darn expensive it really does just come down to landing the best deal on the best product in your price range, at least for a working Joe.

Don't trust this dealership

by qtran on 03/28/2012

My poor dad recently got a brochure by mail from kia with a scratch-off that if all three cars matched you win a kia. Of course he had all three cars. I knew to be skeptical, so I went in there with the brochure. They said the code on the brochure didn't match, which the brochure never mentioned anything of the code having to match...so I told them they were being deceptive. Anyway, they offered me a free vacation package with a company name TRIPS incentives, I went home to call the company but grew suspicious when they said I needed to mail them 50$. So I google their name and lord beholds they are [non-permissible content removed] [HTMl removed] I called Kia, and told them that they are misleading customers and working with a travel company who have very bad reviews. This shows that if Kia can misslead you with their promotions, what makes you think they won't lie to sell a car. I don't deal with [non-permissible content removed] and so Should you! Q

How are they still in business?

by stan84 on 02/14/2012

I bought a Kia here too bad for me. I went thru everything others are saying on here. Went to the BBB of Jersey trying to get to get some satisfaction but don't think I will. They have a F rating with the BBB. They lied about price which the advertised on their web site only had one key for car. When I complained to sales manager I was called a curse word and told to get out of his show room but they had my trade in and money. Called General Manager and he was no help only listen to his sales staff. I guess that normal since they all get a cut of the commission. Wonder if the owner has a heart. I don't think so . My advice buy somewhere else. Why does this site make you give the car lot a rating when the lowest you can give is a one star. I wouidn.t give them any rating. [non-permissible content removed]
