Auto maintenance

by Amjones43 on 04/03/2023

I went to Richard Lucas for an odor from the filter. Sure enough the cabin filter had to be changed and I also had a sound near the front passenger side when going over bumps. The assistant took a test drive with me to try and hear the sound, but we did not hear the sound, but I appreciated the time given to diagnose the problem and will return if the sound occurs again.

Rip off

by Just mad on 10/09/2022

Not good. I was told oil leaking out of my intake manifold and running down the engine to the exhaust manifold. I couldn't understand how that is possible since the intake sucks down vice pushing out like the exhaust manifold. Also, $1300 for repairs that may not fix the problem but that is the starting point to attempt to find the problem. I am glad I am mechanic from the Army. I put my truck up in the air and saw it was the oil Collier lines. $10 gasket, removed two bolts, spent 1 hour. Where I am from, your shop was trying to rip me off. I want a refund. They never found the leak.

Stay away from [non-permissible content removed]

by Asif R on 09/27/2022

Please stay away from them as they are [non-permissible content removed]. They display a price on the internet to lure you and then they added thousand of dollars as markup on top of it. I asked specifically about any addition cost and fees, before I picked by wife and drove 1 hour to go look the Bolt EV. The sticker on the window clearly had the same price as the internet. We looked at the car , and fell in love with it and they never said anything about additional markup at that time. But once we sat down, they dropped the bomb on us and broke our heart. Its ok to make money but please don't play with people sentiments and waste their time and energy. I am very upset and want to let everyone know that they should stay away from these [non-permissible content removed]. My sales guys were Scott Browne, who called me to the dealership and Vincent (Vinny) Francis, who was the actual salesman who showed the car.

My New Chevy Cobalt

by teresap721 on 01/27/2013

I had a wonderful experience with Richard Lucas Chevrolet and Rocco. The sales experience was seamless. The only downfall was that I was promised a 3 mos free OnStar, but unfortunately there was a mechanical problem and the service team was unable to get it work.. In exchange for that I received a car wash and a free oil change, which in all honesty means more because I have AAA so OnStar wasn't really important to me. Rocco apologized for the committment that he was unable to keep, and definitely made up for it. I recommend the dealership and am happy with my purchase.

I Love Chevrolet

by biggerard on 12/24/2012

I purchased a 2013 Silverado from Richard Lucas Chevrolet. I bought the exact truck I wanted and there was no pressure or problems in the transaction. Chevy is offering rebate money on these trucks currently and my salesman was very helpful in assuring that I received everything that was offered including a Hurricane Sandy rebate. He took really good care of us and we couldn't be happier with the whole process or the truck. I was offered a test drive of the new truck and a very fair trade in price on my old silverado. The Truck was delivered to us on time and every feature explained. We felt we were treated like family by our salesman and the staff and would highly recommend Richard Lucas Chevrolet to our family and friends.

I'm really disgusted in with this place

by toro69 on 05/15/2012

I'm really disappointed in my experience with this dealership. I did my research online regarding my GMC Canyon. The price was excellent but when we started discussing the safety of the truck they didn't want to hear it. The tires were bad the alignment was off. This was supposed to be a certified truck there was nothing certified about this truck. We looked at the breakdown of all the cost and they tried to charge us $1200 Dealer Prep fee. I laughed in the car sales face. We put down $4000 towards the cost of the truck. By the time everything was said and done half of this was spent on these bogus fees. Please be careful. When we sign the contract they offered us beer. I've never heard of a dealership offering beer to their customers. The finance guy was a [non-permissible content removed] after we told him that we didn't want any extra warranty or extra stuff. We left the dealership without the car because the tires needed to be replace. We get a call a few days later. When we call the insurance company and get our temporary plates they ignored us and didn't even give us tape for the temporary plates because we didn't buy into the sales pitch for the extra warranty. I can't believe this the truck final cost is $24,680 and I was treated like garbage.

LUCAS Chevrolet is worse experience

by llerena07 on 01/03/2012

Time is running out to take advantage of the $3,500 rebate and other incentive being offered on purchase of a new 2010 Malibu LT which ends on 04-30-10. Fact- The General Manager of Richard Lucas Chevrolet (a.k.a. Woodbridge Auto Center), Jorge R., George L., Jr., Jeff (Finance Manager), and Luke that met with me on 04-16-10 or 04-17-10, mislead me to believe I did not qualify for a new car loan. I was denied new vehicle purchase prior signing contract of the second vehicle on 04-21-10. [HTML deleted]

Richard Lucas and His Salesman LIE

by ginoe78 on 11/29/2009

I just returned from a highly unpleasant sales experience with Richard Lucas Chevy. The salesman lied to me about the options on the car I was interested in. He told me that the car had traction control and ABS and OnStar when in fact it did not. I think he thought I knew nothing about cars and I played dumb to let his guard down. I actually knew the car did not have these options but I pretended not to know to test the salesman's trustworthiness. Well, I put too much faith in him because he checked the car and told me it had all of these options. The nerve! When I made an offer, he came back and told me the dealership would accept my price but they needed to add 1499 to the price. At that point, I almost got up and left and should have. He told me this fee was for certifying the car as a certified pre-owned Cheverolet. I sat back down and told him to remove the fee. He told me it was non-negotiable. After much back and forth this "non-negotiable" fee dissapeared after he spoke to the owner. (I think he just went to get some coffee.) Finally, he tried to add another 400 bucks in fake fees like VIN etching, computer fees, and clerical fees. I read on Edmunds that the VIN etching only costs 20 bucks and the other fees are just tacked on to let the dealer make more money. Computer and clerical fees are part of overhead and should not be charged to each vehicle!!! Totally BS. I walked out of the showroom at that point and am still looking for Chevy Camaro.

LIED TO BY [violative content deleted]

by mboss2 on 03/30/2009

I visited Richard Lucas Chevrolet when looking to purchase a vehicle for my niece. I stopped by the showroom on a Saturday and had a pleasant conversation with the salesperson about a Chevy Cobalt, I told the salesman that I appreciated his time and that I would be back next Saturday with my niece to look at the cars we spoke about. True to my word I did go back the following week and showed the vehicles to my niece. The salesman and I could not reach an agreed upon price for a 2008 Cobalt but he did show me a 2006 Cobalt that was in our price range. My niece saw the car and liked it very much we test drove it and the car ran nice. We came back to the dealership and I (at least I thought we did) negotiated a price with the salesman. I made it very clear that I only wantred to pay X dollars for the vehicle and that number would include all costs (tax, title, registration and any othe DMV fees) along with an extended 12 month warranty on the car. The salesman went to speak to his manager came back a few minutes later and said we have a deal. I said this includes sales tax, title, DMV fees, registration, plates and the extended warraty and he said yes. The dealership got very busy (wonder how many other people got taken for a ride) so when the car was ready my salesman was with other customers. So rather than disturb him from making a sale he turned me over to the Finance Manager since it was a cash deal and I wanted to get out of there I had no problem with this. The contract was written in a way that I really didn't understand but knowing car dealers I figured they were writting it for their advantage. When my wife asked the Finance Manager if they were taking care of the DMV costs and getting plates for the vehicle he said yes. So the contract was signed. Boy did I learn a lesson. During the week I received a call from the dealer that the Title was in I asked about the plates and was told that I had to take care of the plates. I said that is not the deal I had and that I would like to talk to my salesman about this. My salesman agreed with me that the deal included sales tax and registration and said that I should not worry because I was not going to pay an additional dime, he sauid he would call me back. Later that night he advised me that he had to speak to George Lucas and George was not in but theat I shouldn't loose any sleep over it because the deal was as we agreed. I was somewhat comforted by that until Saturday morning when I went back to the dealer for a minor repair to the vehicel. It was then I was told that I didn't pay tax on the vehicle and it was my responsibility to pay the sales tax and register the vehicle. I then told George Lucas that this wasn't the deal I had with the salesman and he said the contract doesn't state this. I then spoke to the owner Richard Lucas who also stated there must have been a miscommunication. I asked him to speak to the salesman and ask him what he communicated the deal to me and the salesman ( and I give him allot of credit) said that the deal was out the door and included all the items I sated. The owner than said to me it doesn't matter what the salesman says it's what the finanace guy says. I have to admit this put me into shock. I can't believe the owner said this. So another lesson to be learned dont deal with salesman just deal with the finance guy. When the Finance guy ( if i remembered your name it would be written) was confronted and asked about the deal he said never included the tax, when I reminded him that my wife asked him before the document was signed if they were registring the vehicle and he said yes he called me a liar. I was shocked when this guy called me a liar when he was the one lying through his teeth. If the car was for me I would have left it there and got my money back (when I said that I wanted my money back the owner Richard Lucas said get a lawyer) the deal cost me more money. I didn't want to disappoint my niece who

Do not buy from Richard Lucas Chevrolet !

by mnoduck59 on 01/22/2008

I bought a 2008 Chevy Cobalt on 1/21/2008. The dealer added 778 extra dollars to the purchase price which I did not catch till I got home with the vehicle. I called and corrected the situation and have gotten excuses of we charged you the wrong sales tax and we charged you the wrong motor vehicle fees. These are blatant lies as those items are listed seperately on contract. I believe now that I was being intentionally cheated. The worst part is I dealt with George Lucas directly on the phone and agreed to a price. I was given 1000 gm discount and 1000 gm loyalty discount and I believed I was getting a 500 dollar dealer discount. I found out today on the internet that there was a 500 dollar conquest cash discount through gm. The dealer must have forgot to disclose this discount and I did not know why the salesman Angelo wanted a copy of my dodge registration. Now I know why. The bottom line is I paid full sticker price and only got discounts issued by gm. Had I known about the conquest cash I never would have signed the contract without the additional 500 dollars off. I called George Lucas today and asked him to correct the situation to no avail. He said there is nothing he will do for me . I feel I was lied to, cheated and the dealers practices are deceitful to say the least.
