A pleasant professional experience

My recent dealings with the sales department at Merrimack Street Volvo was completely professional, respectful, accommodating and fair. I entered the showroom with the notion that I might be interested in a Volvo, which I wasnt sure. The sales representative that greeted me, Tom Cobb was completely understanding. He happily arranged for the test drive of several models. Once I narrowed it down to a specific model we discussed the options that were important and approximate pricing. A week later when I had time to bring my old Saab in for valuation we talked in more specific terms. By then I had had the opportunity to research the market value of my would-be trade-in and Volvo model I was interested in. There was no need to dicker. The numbers quoted were all fair and reasonable based on my research. With that we shook hands on a deal that was mutually agreeable. Two weeks later I have no reservations. I did do some shopping around prior for cars of similar caliber and still hold to my sentiment that this was the right deal and dealer for me. I also spent time investigating the service department. In spite of Manchester not being as logistically convenient as other Volvo dealers, I plan to stick with the Merrimack Street folks. The others, while competent did not leave me with the same sense of confidence I got from my probing. So while Im generally not one to write lengthy reviews I felt strongly enough about this experience to make the time to write one. I know I consider feedback like this when making a major purchase so its only fair that I give back, good or bad. And in this case, it was all good.

We have bought a few Volvos from Merrimack St over the years and have always been happy with the sales process. This was no different. Everything was as promised, price was right, would easily recommend them to others.

Not only was I provided with straightforward easy to understand communications, I was treated with respect and fair play. This dealer proves that buying a car doesn't have to be a miserable dance where two adversaries circle each other suspiciously--it can instead be a lovely and fun adventure. I was given a fair price, everything was above board, and the dealer went to great lengths to get exactly the car we wanted. This is how it's supposed to be. I am thankful for the great experience.
