SCAM ALERT!

STAY AWAY FROM THIS DEALERSHIP! Every negative review you read is true. I experienced every negative remark about this dealer, including Mike Kearns and their supposed "Expert Car Repairman". I went to buy a truck advertised from their site around $47,000, with a trade in & $5000 down. For starters, my car that I was going to trade-in only had 1 chip in the hood, a cracked windshield that I offered to replace myself and 2 rims with minor curb rubs. Mike told me the online price was wrong & that it included rebates/ discounts that did not apply to me but would not tell me which rebates that did not apply to me. Mike also told me that they do not honor military discounts to Retired military members & that the military discount only applies to "Active" military, completely bogus! Secondly, they supposed "Expert Mechanic" tried feeding me a bogus claim on my trade in. The mechanic claimed I had "Cancer" on the hood of my car. He pointed to what was 1 chip of paint & blemishes from the wax & said my hood was "Rotting away" & it was what they call "Cancer". I had a cracked windshield, which I offered to replace myself. They would only offer $5000 less than Black book. After they "tried so hard to earn my business”, they turned me down. I knew my credit was not perfect but I did not think it was bad enough to be turned down. Therefore, I took my trade-in and cash to another dealer. Not only did I the truck I wanted from their site but they did not try to lie to me about their online, they also gave what Blackbook quoted. The other dealership "Expert Car Repairman" also stated the blemishes in the wax was not cancer but was just simply spots were the wax did not take well on the hood. After the mechanic applied the wax they use he showed that there was nothing wrong with the hood all except for 1 chip of paint. So, listen to every negative remark about this shady dealership because they are right.

Price Swindlers at Suntrup

Came in to buy a new F150. The "Asking Price" online was $20,870. After driving the truck we started negotiations. I offered to pay the full Asking Price. They had an internal discussion and countered with a new price $4,000 above the asking price. They cited that some later modifications were added & that website pricing may not apply to everyone, but failed to rationalize how my price was so much higher. In fact, they said no one could possibly qualify for all of the rebates and actually buy the truck for the Asking Price advertised. Filed my complaint with the BBB, left this review, and complained on their Facebook page (which they took down). Zero Integrity & 100% Chance of a Classic Swindle at Suntrup Ford in Westport MO.

Changed my outlook on car buying

This was my first venture into buying a car and I could not have been more terrified. I'd grown up with everyone I know telling me the horrors of car buying from a dealer. "They're out to get every last cent." "They'll pile on fees right at the very end." "Their job is to pressure you into buying." Things like that were the 'only' idea of dealers I had going into this. I had been informed to get pre-approved by my bank before going in so that took a good amount of pressure off. So I did some shopping online and found a 2012 Ford Focus. I knew it was a good car because my family has had Focus's for years, my brother's actually being a 2012. So sent a request for a test drive and in about 10 minutes I get a call to schedule a test drive with Bob Stapleton. I cannot explain how easy Bob made this entire process. There was no pressure to buy, not even slightly. On the test drive, he was quiet unless he was asked a question, so there went my fear of the pressure during the test drive I'd been told about. When we got back, he let me lead the conversation. I started by asking what the out-the-door price would be. In a few minutes he told me (it actually came out about $50 less from the sticker price)... AND IT STAYED THIS PRICE THE ENTIRE TIME. Strike out the sneaky added fee rumors I'd heard. I liked the car, I LOVED the dealership, so I decided to buy, The rest of the process was paperwork and checking to see if they could get me any cheaper rates. No pressure at all. None of the horror stories about dealers even came close to coming true with Bob. Bob made this the easiest experience ever. I think it took maybe 3 hours from walking in to driving away in my new car. If you're worried about the horror stories of dealers and the pressure they put on you like I was, go to Suntrup Ford in Westport. You can believe me when I say the next time I buy a car, it will be from Suntrup and I'm hoping Bob Stapleton is still around.

Go see Chuck!

THANK YOU CHUCK! We needed to trade our Honda CRV, for a more dependable vehicle. Went in looking for a Mini-van that I saw on line to meet the needs of my sons' short legs. Chuck worked with his manager and my husband to get us financing for a 2015 Fusion SE. I am a Chevy girl at heart so I was skeptical at first but them I drove it and my son was able to get in and out with no problem and I was sold. Chuck knows what he is doing and listens to your needs. He was very respectful of our time, and did everything in his power to get everything done quickly. Also took time out to show us all the cool gadgets that are on the vehicle. I definitely would recommend both the dealership and especially Chuck to anyone in the market for a vehicle

Ford FX4 With bad Cam Phasers

These people should not be in business. [non-permissible content removed]. Bought a Ford FX4 pickup, they assured me that it was a good truck. The day I bought it, it was too cold to stand around outside, so I took their word for it. Bob Stapleton is [non-permissible content removed]. The first lie he told me was that none of these trucks had a light in the odometer, but I found out that the light was burnt out and replaced it myself, a 15 minute fix. I had called them right when I got home with my truck because on the drive home, the motor was making a ticking noise after it warmed up. When I went back to talk to them, this week because they called me, and assured me that I would see the manager. I was greeted by a salesman who wanted to know what car I wanted to update. I told him I wasn't interested in updating anything, they told me to come down to see the general manager, which I never got to see. They then rushed me over to the service department like they were going to do something about the problem, they then told me that it could cost me anywhere from $1700-$2000 or even higher to fix the problem. They offered to give me $500 towards the bill, BIG DEAL. So I am stuck with a truck that is so embarrassing to pull up anywhere with a window, because of the noise it makes. Also, the gas door was broke and had tape on it to keep it closed. PLEASE do yourself a favor and STAY AWAY from these people, as there is no honesty there. This is the second and LAST vehicle I will be purchasing from there. Do yourself a favor and don't waste your time. There are a lot of honest Ford dealers, but these people are not one of them. This was not a new problem. I had contacted you on the first day when I got home about the ticking. After playing phone tag until after my warranty ran out, you finally called to have me come down to have the problem addressed. So I go there, expecting to meet with a manager, who was not there, and got offered $500 for a problem, that could have been fixed a year earlier UNDER MY WARRANTY. You also mentioned in your comment that this was a common problem with this engine, should you have maybe informed me of that before I made the purchase? Do you not test drive your vehicles before you sell them? No, it was all about the money, not about the customer. In other words, you are taking the money and running. Again, I urge you to choose a different Ford dealer, if you want to be treated like a customer rather than a checkbook. -Louie Re

I contacted this dealer to ask about a specific car. Bob Stapleton responded and said he'd look for the car if it was not in stock. Never heard back, even after asking again a few days later.

Great Experience with Suntrup Ford Westport

I had an outstanding experience with Suntrup Ford Westport and my new Ford Focus. Billy P. was my Sales consultant, who was as helpful and kind as could be. Although I took a while to finally decide to get the Ford Focus, Billy was never pushy and has been extremely friendly since the first time I met him. After I factory ordered the vehicle, Billy called me weekly to give me updates on the status of the car, and contacted me again as soon as it arrived. I still keep in touch with him. I also purchased an extended warranty from Finance Manager Michael J., who was also very cooperative and kind. I would also like to mention that the car arrived around 6 or 7 weeks; a bit ahead of schedule. I am extremely satisfied with the Focus I purchased and the staff and services of Suntrup Ford Westport.
