onFollow up to my previously posted review. GM of the dealership reached out and the issue with price protection was resolved. Bronco pricing has been a headache caused by Ford Motor Co, and their is frustration from consumers and dealers alike. I am a happy customer and will return to work with Tom and Jim Trenary Ford on any future Ford purchases.

Dishonest

onIf you’re looking for trust and integrity, I’d look elsewhere. In general, car dealerships and salespeople have a bad name. My experience buying a 2022 Bronco from Tom at Jim Trenary Ford was great up until showing up to take delivery of the vehicle. Ordered the Bronco October 2021 with a $500 deposit. Pricing was agreed upon and provided in writing. After a few months of waiting, we went to look at a 2 door they had in stock and realized it only had 2 seats in the back. We need at least 5 seats and decided to cancel the order. The salesman did not mention at the time that 4 door models (we had a 4 door on order) did in fact have 5 seats. We decided to cancel the order as 4 seats didn’t work for us. Several months later looking online at pictures, I noticed that the 4 door did have 5 seats but the ordered had already been cancelled and others had been waiting for over a year so I just forgot about it. Fast forward to October 2022, and I got a call from Tom saying that the order was never cancelled and it was supposed to deliver in the next few weeks. After discussing it with my wife, we decided to move forward with the purchase. From the time that the order was placed, Ford increased the MSRP on the vehicle $1750. Since the order was never cancelled, it qualified for price level protection. Tom never once mentioned that they were not planning to stick to the originally agreed to price. After confirming that the vehicle was built and on a train headed towards the dealership, we sold our other vehicle. The day that I showed up to take delivery and do paperwork, it was dropped on me that they were not going to honor the original agreed to price, and they were not going to pass the price level protection on to me because the order was not mine since I had cancelled it and they took my name off of it. Knowing how the ordering process works, I knew this was not possible and it was dishonesty at it’s finest. Tom told me that if I didn’t want to buy it, they would mark it up $5,000 over MSRP and sell it to someone else. I went through with the purchase as we were in need of the vehicle as we had already sold the one it was replacing. I then contacted Ford corporate and was told that in fact my name was still on the order, and the order did qualify for price level protection in the amount of $1750. Unfortunately, the dealership is not obligated to pass that money on to the end customer unless it is an A/Z plan order. The price level protection is something the dealer gets on their dealer statement 30-90 days after the sale. I have followed up with Tom several times to inquire about this price protection, and I have waited 90+ days since the sale to give them a chance to make it right before writing a review. Had I been told when they called to offer me the vehicle that the terms of the deal would be different, I probably still would have gone through with the purchase and not had an issue with it. The issue I have is with the dishonesty after the fact and the constant lies I’ve been told that have been debunked by Ford corporate.
