A nightmare at Kia of Duluth

by Randall Burl on 09/26/2020

A first rate miserable experience. I bought a 2009 Toyota Matrix online from Kia of Duluth and had it delivered to my house, a 250 mile trip. When the car arrived I noticed several problems with it. The car was dirty and had dog hair in it. The glove compartment had the left overs from a bag of popcorn. In the back storage compartment there was a mouse nest with a pair of chewed up gloves and about a quarter pound of mouse droppings and sunflower seed shells. Three of the tires were underinflated by 10-15 pounds. I checked the oil and it was over filled by over a quart. The car had 2 sets of keys and they sent one. I had a plate to transfer and they applied for a new one. The car stank of cigarette smoke. I tried for a week to get a remedy for the problems and they offered me a partial payment for a car detail. I would not recommend this car dealership.

New Optima

by david_b5 on 03/14/2018

Buying experience was great. Sales team was most helpful in answering my questions regarding purchasing a new Kia Optima. They were able to get me a great deal by securing the most competitive financing available to me and I can only recommend purchasing a new Kia from Kia of Duluth.

Great service!

by Jodimiller on 02/19/2016

Billy Soley Understood what I was looking for in a car & payments I could afford. He was very helpful.. He went into detail about the car, and made sure I was comfortable and confident about my choice. I will send my friends & family his way! Thank you! Also Calvin was very helpful with explanation of all the different things Kia had to offer me for my new car!

Kia # 2 and very happy

by mykia3 on 04/13/2012

I purchased a Sodona in 2006 and was very happy with the purchase. spent about 10K less than a Dodge or Chevy (used to be die hard Chevy). In august 2011 decided to trade the Sedona and purchased a 2012 Sorento and very happy with the purchase! Currently I am wanting to purchase a 2012 Rio as a back and forth work vehicle due to gas prices. My only concern is I only want the LX since I do not need all the pretties on it, however I need for it to have cruise control and the LX doesn't have it so I am thinking of looking at the Hyundai Accent even though the Kia is my first choice I can't see paying an additional 3K when all I want from the package is cruise. Other than that I am THRILLED with my Kia(s)

inexperienced and unprofessional sales and finance team

by vankrish on 09/01/2011

I am recent college grad and applied here for financing on a kia optima. As soon as they got my information they applied to about 15 banks (and other credit agencies) in order to get me approved. As a result i have 15 hard inquires on my credit report which brought my credit score down by about 200 points. When i asked them why did they apply to 15 banks simultaneously they said since i was a recent college grad i had a limited credit history and i had very little chance of getting a loan. In the end they said they couldn't get me approved anyway, the sales staff are amateurs.. they don't know anything and the finance department is even worse. They treated me as like they were doing me a favor by getting me a car!! After this terrible experience i went to kolar hyundai, they got me approved instantly on a brand new 2012 sonata under their college grad program.. These guys at kolar knew what they were doing, they were professionals and they behaved in the same manner.

Average Dealership Experience

by alexr79 on 08/02/2011

My sales experience was average, for the most part, at this dealership. One positive thing and one negative thing stand out. The positive is that they processed the sale and loan application very quickly. I took about two hours from the time I stepped into the dealership until the time I drove out with my new car. this included the test drive, negotiating price, and processing the loan and paper work. The negative is that the sales person kept stressing to me that I should give him a perfect score on any survey I receive from the manufacturer. I thought this was tacky and showed that the sales person wasn't confident enough in his ability to deliver good customer satisfaction

Pushy, won't listen to customers

by ultsbabe on 07/31/2009

Quite a few times I told the salesperson that I needed to have my boyfreind take a look at the car I chose. The salesperson pushed me until I bought a car. I was sent out on a test drive in a car with a gas tank on empty, You sure can't go for much on a test drive. The salesperson also offered me $1500.00 for my trade-in, I only got $500.00, big differance. Nobody at this dealership will call me back to answer my questions, but they have called me three times because they forgot to get something from me. I will much more aware of dealing with such an incompitant group of people. Every time I turnd around they were so busy, nothing like feeling your a valued customer.
