Great price and knowledgeable staff

by minnesota5 on 04/09/2013

Staff was professional and very knowledgeable about the car and trim lines. We had been shopping via the internet and were very happy with the price. Everything went smoothly except we were talken into buying the extended warranty package...which we did and are cancelling within the required 60 day timeframe.

Positive Experience with Toyota City

by rickmn on 06/24/2011

They were the first to respond by email and they made it clear they'd beat any other price. After the other dealers responded, Toyota did beat their prices. There were no games when I showed up to buy the car. Yes, they tried to sell the "protection package," but I was firm in turning it down. They also put a lot of pressure to buy an extended warranty, but I turned that down as well. The other dealers wouldn't negotiate and seemed pretty arrogant. Toyota City was professional. I liked that. If I had to do it over again, I would have skipped the factory floor mats and gone right to WeatherTech mats instead. They're a bit more, but are much better mats. Other than that, I'm very happy with the car and the buying experience. Easiest car purchase I've ever had.

My First New Car- an FJ Cruiser

by kamm on 07/30/2007

I started the sales process by going online after looking at a brochure at work. The Internet salesperson made several follow-up replies but was unavailable at the time of purchase. A different sales person showed me a car ,and offered a test drive around the car lot. We went back in the sales office and discussed purchasing the car. The color wasn't what I wanted -so I was offered another car with alloy wheels. I was told it was illegal to add or remove parts from the stated window sticker roster. I accepted this model- even though as I later found out was lacking some of the items I intended to get with the car. I was pressed to get additional corrosion protection because as was stated " The original protection does'nt cover salt". After delivery of the vehicle I asked if those original Toyota parts were available . The internet salesperson stated I should get aftermarket parts. I pressed the issue and found the originals are available. Here' s the kicker . I was sold a rustproofing and undercoating package that was unneeded for this particular model and quite possibly has damaged it . Parts that are affected include: the PVC wheelwells, outside trim, the brakes which can be compromised from liquid undercoat dripping onto them, the rubber electrical connection gaskets that make the car water safe, and any original corrosion protection applied at the factory. I'ts a sticky mess of disolving plastic and rubber. Toyota has contacted me and stated it does not recommend undercoating this car. So as of this moment my heart has sunk into the depths of despair. I'll put it this way- would you buy this car? - even if it is brand new? I give this a * ( ONE STAR).
