Szott M-59 Chrysler Jeep

I inquired about a Jeep Wrangler Unlimited last Wednesday after seeing it on Cars.com and began the buying process on Thursday. I am in KC this dealer is in Detroit. I dealt with Robert Rapcka. He assured me they had experience with out of state purchases and actually preferred it because "it was easy on them". After all, Robert claimed, they were the largest Wrangler dealer in the nation and dealt in volume. He said the dealership had experience transporting vehicles, etc. I made an offer and Robert said he would get back to me. After hearing nothing I called Robert Friday morning and he said he didn't get a chance to call me and was going to call me after lunch and he would get back to me. I told him no problem but he went ahead and just told me they couldn't accept my offer. I said ok and provided a counter offer. Again, he'd check and get back to me. Again, no response so I called him back and he said he was too busy to present my offer and would get back to me in the morning. Surprisingly, he did call me to tell me the offer was again declined (which was only a few hundred under the asking price on the website) so I told him I'd pay the listed price. Robert agreed we had a deal and he committed to gathering the info we'd need to finalize the deal. Robert called me a couple hours later and told me the "new car department" was going to sell the car so it was no longer available. I didn't have a good feeling about Robert or this dealership from the beginning, so perhaps this is for the best. I've purchased several cars (and four jeeps, including one from Arkansas on the same day, in a single day with three phone calls, one a couple of years ago from Kentucky) and this is by far the worst experience you could imagine. Again, I don't feel as if this dealership and specifically Robert are trustworthy and I would definitely recommend you avoid this dealership.

We worked with Brian Velke to order our Jeep and he was very patient and very helpful as we are first time Wrangler owners and had a million questions. He knows Jeeps! The vehicle was built and delivered to our door (up in Traverse City) on time, and we are very pleased. Brian was recommended to us by AEV folks, and we will go through him again--without hesitation--if we are ever in the position for a new vehicle again.

My family has purchased multiple vehicles from this dealership and has always been pleased with our sales rep. Dave Rose for this purchase and Tom Reese for the last. Both were patient, gave me their full attention and no pressure to buy a certain vehicle but let me drive as many cars as I wanted. Once I decided things moved quickly and effortlessly on my part. Dave took time to show me the many new features and when I had a question a week later spent time once again going over things. He made me feel appreciated not like I was a bother!!

He went above and beyond, taking time out of his day to make us feel important. We could tell he really cared. He answered every question we had so thoroughly and with such articulation, we knew exactly what we were getting. He took time to make sure we knew how the car worked down to every detail, including setting up our cell phones to work with the car so we’re able to take calls through the car stereo. I was in the market for about a month before having the privilege of speaking to Laura Huard. I originally called Szott Jeep to compare prices and maybe just get educated on the process to negotiate with the other Sales Sharks out there. Laura Huard did just that! She wanted to make sure I was getting exactly what I asked for. I would say that was the first indication that I would be treated as a valued customer. From our first conversation to the time I took the keys from her hand, she proved her skills in customer service and professionalism. She will be the first place I call with any questions or concerns I may have with my new Jeep. I will continue to highly recommend Laura for any new car customer that doesn't like to play games with negotiations. She knows her product and her customer.

My son has a Jeep, but the rest of us drove Fords. Szott has serviced all of our cars and working with Matt was always great to work with so when I was looking to get out of my Ford lease, my husband told me to get what I really wanted and not to settle. I headed to Szott and was immediately greeted by Tom. I received great, timely service and am now the proud owner of a Jeep!

To be honest, when we bought that Jeep I left this dealership quite upset, but first, the rest of the story. We had a "We Owe" for a trailer hitch on a 2015 Jeep Renegade so my wife could haul her bike on it's rack. I knew going into this that it would be several weeks before we saw it. Well, it took like 6 or 8 weeks until it finally showed up, that was OK. Here is the clincher, they could not find the part numbers we needed, I found them on the internet, when the parts finally arrived, they were OEM crash replacement parts, which meant no hardware, no diagram for cutting a non trailer hitch vehicle bumper cover. Ralph took it on anyway, when I arrived to pick it up there were 5 guys finishing it up and they did a killer job on the bumper cover, Ralph, yes, you restored my faith in that dealership, because the day we bought that vehicle I left there feeling not so happy! Ralph also did the install, for $265.00, cheap at twice the price for what his department went through! I did not like the fact that I had to "Purchase" a "Wheel and tire warranty for $599.00" The same goes for the "Lost Key" warranty $199.00 I was told that these would be removed, but the cost of the vehicle would remain the same. I refused to sign the paper that said I would agree to refinance and or resign all the paperwork at their discretion. Since I paid a $210.00 "Doc" fee, you would figure they had the paperwork correct the first time. Kudos to Ralph!

I have bought two Jeeps and a used Tahoe from this dealer. Pros: great inventory, great service dept personnel. Cons: tried to sneak in some wheel/tire protection plan on the sale. Pricing was fair on the vehicles, just make sure you go over the numbers, line by line, before you sign.

I researched the Jeep I wanted and was pretty educated on it. The sales person we meet with knew nothing about the Jeep and even gave us wrong information. This was no big deal because I knew exactly what I wanted. I negotiated fee oil changes for two years or else I could have got a much better deal elsewhere. My wife went to pick up the Jeep after we purchased it and noticed a pinstripe on the the Jeep, a pinstripe she did not order. She said she didn't ask for this and the sales person said that there was nothing they could do and that removing this would require a lot of effort. After getting the manager involved they decided they could remove the pinstripe with no additional charge and they removed it in what seemed minuets. While they were test driving the Jeep, the engine started making strange noises. The sales person told her the engine needed to settle and to drive it home anyway. She made it half way home before the engine died and she called me crying. I was angry, but after cooling down decided these things happen and the Jeep was repaired. I asked our sales person for documentation on the engine repair many times but it was never provided any. When it came to to get our oil changed they said the sales person never documented the free oil changes and no one remembered that discussion. The sales person was no longer with the company (not a shock), and they would not honor the free oil changes. At that point I had enough. I will not buy another Jeep from this place and I plan to tell everyone I know about this experience. One day companies like this will realize that an unhappy customer is far worse then the cost of some free oil changes. Did I mention that they only filled the gas tai up enough for her to get home??

Purchased my new 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee in January 2014. The sales person was nice - not pushy, and was well informed on the vehicle options. I had my other car in for an oil change and bought the new car while it was in service so I had two cars to bring home. While the sales person assured me he could help - when the deal was closed he discovered that the car porter was gone for the day and said he hoped my wife could come back with me later to get one of the cars. After spending $50k on a car I was floored that he was too busy to help me out. But the service department is fantastic! I have used them for my other two cars over the past 4 years. Very friendly, helpful and honest. They earned this sale!

Don't deal with these [violative content deleted]! Chris and Nick took my girlfriend's money over the phone on her credit card after she said she'd buy a truck she'd been looking at for 3 weeks. They had her fax a copy of her drivers license, gave her the VIN so she could buy insurance, said they'd even drive the car to her so she could test drive it on her day off. They called later that day and said they didn't have a driver to take the car to her but that they'd hold it until her next day off (3 days later). We drive 3 hours to pick the car up, they had sold it to someone else (wouldn't tell us for how much), couldn't return the down payment, the credit card info. or even the copy of the license because it was locked in Chris's desk. They said even if the car hadn't been sold, they couldn't have completed the sale anyway because Chris' desk was locked. We still haven't received the credit card info or license back that they said they'd mail overnight the next day . . . that was 13 days ago. DON'T TRUST THESE GUYS, THEY'RE [violative content deleted]!!!

I went in to test drive a Jeep Wrangler. A salesperson came out and was very friendly. She showed me all the different Wranglers in stock and let me drive the one with options I was interested in. I ended up trading in my old car and drove away in a new 2010 Wrangler. There was no pressure at all and the whole transaction was easy as pie. They gave me fair value for my trade in. (I had researched it's value before I went). The finance department even shopped around to get me a great interest rate. From test drive to out the door in the new Jeep was about 3 hours. A great experience!

My 19 yr old daughter saved her money all throughout high school and sold an old used car that still ran well to buy a newer used car. The car lasted 2 weeks and the only response from the manager was "it was sold as is". With all the problems this car had, they either knew it and were looking for someone to take advantage of or were stupid, either way you want to stay away from them. They have done nothing to help make this right other than say, pay for repairs and we'll give you credit for another car. [violative content deleted]. I will continue to blog and send out e-mails each week forever to let people know that this dealer is still the same old type of shady car dealers that we all grew up with. The manager would lie to his own mother to sell her a car. Not the quality or integrity of the old owners.
