Unfair sales practice - caution to online buyers

I tried to purchase a car online from another state feel the process was not handled fairly. The day before the car went live on their website, I emailed them asking to make a deposit to hold the car. They called following morning and told me someone would call me back to take my deposit. It took longer than expected. When they finally called back it was to tell me they decided to sell it to someone else. Allegedly, someone walked into the dealership the same morning and it was immediately sold to them while completely ignoring my bid. I understand cars sell fast, but that’s irrelevant, unless someone is careless and impulsive. There does not appear to be an equitable order of operation in place here. If I had refused to make the deposit or was unresponsive to calls / text / email, then I would understand it would default to the next bid. Instead they let someone jump the line which I found both discourteous and unprofessional. If you are offering online sales, then these bids need to be taken seriously (and equally valid as in person), unless buyer behavior proves otherwise.

Had a very nice experience buying my car. Went in Monday afternoon, and picked up my car first thing Tuesday morning! One paper hadn't been signed, and the dealer came to my house so I wasn't inconvenienced. Can't beat that for service! Love my new Lincoln!!
