angry inappropriate management

My husband and I did indeed schedule to purchase a vehicle from you but when the woman I was speaking to, and going over the paperwork with began yell at me with a raised voice it all fell apart. I was asking her several questions. She kept calling me sweetie and honey and dear which i felt was a bit inappropriate. I am not a little child. Nevertheless I overlooked it and wanted to go over paperwork .She wanted me to pick an extended warranty. I was not interested, She kept pushing the subject. I finally told her she could price them out for me and give me all the information on them But I likely would not pick one, I feel they are generally overpriced. I questioned her about an insurance paper.She answered my question I told her we would make sure the vehicle was insured before we drove away with it and moved onto the next paper in the stack. She kept pressing the issue with me two more times both times I told her yes, we would make sure the vehicle was insured and I wanted to move on. She kept thrusting the page at me and telling me the same thing again. I said she was like a broken record I had already answered her yes. She raised her voice, yelling at me that I was very rude. She stood from her chair continuing to yell at me. I backed away, I gathered my things I walked out. She hastened around me to run to a man claiming to be the manager and told him her story. He then challenged me instead of trying to ease the tension. I told him she raised her voice with me, he said" I doubt that" and told her to not allow the sale to go through. I tried to explain that I was indeed yelled at by her. My son approached me as your two employees were arguing with me and pointed out that the "manager" just cut me off and did not listen to me. which they were accusing me of doing and the manager lost his temper. He began to raise his voice and demand we leave. He ripped my check which I believe your dealership already cleared from my bank and thrust it back at me and said I was trespassing. When I asked to speak top Carlos our awesome sales man. he said no we could speak to no one and we were to get out. That is when I finally lost my temper and swore at him as I was leaving. You just lost a nearly $30,000 sale because your employees do not understand the most basic principal of commerce. The customer is always right. I will continue to write poor reviews and pursue this. If my check did indeed already clear the bank then you will also have a lawsuit on your hands. . Your "manager" who threatened to call the police on me and demanded I leave is John Lewis. John, You have one heck of a problem to address at your dealership. How are you ever going to sell cars if this is how you treat customers?

Just Another Sleezy Used Car Lot

Just another typical used car lot. Speak to the some kid for 3 days, assures me the car is there, I actually get a loan to pay for it and the day I go to pick it up the kid says it was sold. Note that this dealership is 2 hours away from civilization. So I talk to the manager. He tells me the reason the car was sold was because the kid "deserves a day off". So he admits his employee just straight out lied to me and took my debit card information anyways. I could go on and about what a useless and sleezy lot this is but if you make the same mistake it's just on you. People from Boston: Do not waste your time trying to work with these people. You'll get the same answer the manager gave me. You're SOL.

Positive experience

I recently bought my new Jeep at Bertera. Igor was my sales guy. I came in prepared and fairly peppered him with questions. He worked through the natural issues and concerns that will arise in a major purchase. He is a personable and knowledgeable guy. I recommend him and Bertera without reservation.

Very pleased with the service from Betera chrysler jeep in west springfield. Was assisted by Carl Binette with excellent service, was fisrt car buying experience and i would have to say he made it very comfortable, easy and most important a successful one. Ended up settleing on a 2013 Nissan Altima sedan and it is everything i was looking for. Would extremely recomend going to betera chrysler jeep in westpringfield with Carl Binette if you are looking for exellent service, prices and all aroumd help with anything you are looking for.

Very happy with the service and professionalism

I had agreed to help my young daughter finance a lease on a vehicle. She had mentioned she liked Wranglers but I didn't think that was the best car for her. She went to Bertera after work to do a test drive. Instead of just trying to sell some young kid on a vehicle they want to move Igor P worked with my daughter to find the vehicle that was right for her. He let her test drive 3 different vehicles before she decided which one she liked best. She settled on a Cherokee with some very nice options and it was within the budget she had given Igor to work with. Both my daughter and I were very happy with the vehicle and the level of service we received. I would definitely recommend this dealership.

Honesty,truth

Oh boy!!! I am truely blessed having received the most decent experience as of yet in purchasing a newer vehicle. I can not express enough how over the top individuals such as sandy, Dave, Aubrey, and of course igor were through this process, they were all professional and down to earth personable as I could ever imagine. I am not great with this computer stuff as I type all this in here, although rest assured I will be informing everyone in my path verbally about the awesome treatment I received. Never again

I will never step foot in any of these dealerships. I have been warned before from friends to go elsewhere. I guarantee you I will never be at this place of business again. They wouldn't even let me go home and think about it. I told them to let me think over the payments for a few days. They called every single day. I explained I didn't have my mind set yet if the payments worked. They started talking down to me and tried to say anything to get me back... Buyer beware!!!! I will never go back and I don't understand half the reviews on this dealership. I hear nothing but bad from word of mouth on this place...

Well done, pleasant atmosphere

Overall it was a very good experience at Bertera Jeep. We had an appointment with Monty, and he made us feel very comfortable, and was knowledgeable during the process. We didn't particularly have fancypants credit, took a little hit for that in the rate, but this was expected. We were treated like everyone else, and felt rewarded with a new Jeep. They are putting brand new tires on now for free.... well done

Dishonesty

I wrote a review earlier on this website recommending Bertera for good customer service. I can still say that I was treated nicely by Jimmy and Igor during the buying process and I don't have a problem with them personally, but today I found out that I was given some false information about the car I purchased, which is a 2013 Hyundai Elantra. I was told that the 10 year 100k powertrain warranty on it was still applicable. Come to find out through Hyundai that the warranty only applied to the first owner, a rental company. I was told by the sales man Jimmy and the finance guy Aubrey that this warranty still applied to the car. I did my part as a consumer to check in on this by asking Aubrey the night I was making the purchase for the warranty documents so I could read this myself. He told me that they weren't available and he would try to get them for me later. After I took the vehicle off the lot, which was almost a week later, I found the warranty booklet in the glove box and read through it. That's when I realized I may have been misinformed and called Hyundai. I called Bertera about this and they're telling me there's nothing they can do and told me I should have done my part as consumer to make sure everything that I wanted to know about the car I looked into. I replied that I HAD done my part but was told the warranty information wasn't available. I don't know if the people I dealt with knew the truth and told me falsely anyway or if they honestly thought the warranty still applied, but either way, if I (a first time dealership vehicle buyer) can find out about this simply by flipping through the warranty booklet then they have NO excuse as to why THEY wouldn't know about this. This is their JOB. I will be pursuing this issue further until I get some kind of results. I'm very disappointed that this happened, as I do like the car itself. I cannot recommend Bertera after this incident because I feel that false information like this really is a big to do when you're making such a big purchase.

Our journey leading to the purchase of a Chrysler 300

My wife and I had been looking at cars (SUVs) for the previous 3 weeks. We had many parameters to deal with, including issues with elderly parents. The one SUV that we both liked very much ended up hurting my wife’s knee due to an awkward driving position for her size. Many of the other SUVs were bouncy and/or had very average handling. We decided to give the Jeep Grand Cherokee a try, as it had just had a favorable write-up in Consumer Reports. And, since my wife had always very much enjoyed driving our 2001 Dodge Intrepid RT, I thought that as an alternative, we should look at the Chrysler 300 while we were at the dealer. We decided to go to Bertera, as they had many 2014 Jeeps in stock and also had a 300S. Their dealership is about 30 minutes from us. When we arrived at Bertera, we were immediately greeted outside by salesman Chris D. We told Chris what we were interested in, and he set us up with test drives of both vehicles. He was very informative about both cars, and he was patient with us, knowing that we had several things to consider. When we were getting set to leave, he never pressured us but let us know that he would like our business. He also introduced us to his sales manager, Dave. Dave greeted us, and he also let us know that he was very interested in our business, and that they would do what it takes to secure a deal. They were also very willing to locate a vehicle for us –without charge- if they didn’t have one on the lot that had what we were looking for. Before we got home, we also test drove another brand SUV. That night, we discussed our thoughts our preferences. My wife really liked the 300 better than any of the SUV’s that we drove. Even though it did not have the carting capacity of an SUV, the ride was superior, it would accommodate the needs of elderly parents, and we could get it in AWD. (Chris picked up on my wife’s preference of the 300 by the way). After that, I thought I’d go to a local Chrysler dealer, to take another look at the 300 and the different colors available. I had intended to go back to Bertera, but the local dealer started talking about what they could do. So, I figured l’d listen, and they were also willing to participate in a corporate rewards program for the price of a car. But they weren’t interested in our car as a trade in. So, I figured we’d sell the car privately, as Bertera offered more for our car, but not enough. In the meantime, however, my mother had a couple of real bad days with her cancer, and we felt it would be difficult for us at this time to be messing around selling a car with her situation becoming more critical. I called Chris at Bertera and told him that I may as well get the car at a local dealer, since we were going to have to sell our car privately anyway. He was disappointed, but he said he’d like to have a chance at negotiating a better offer for us and that he’d do his best to get us what we were looking for as a trade-in. I agreed to go back to Bertera, but, honestly, I was expecting high-pressured tactics and the usual dance. To my surprise and relief, that was not the case. Chris was direct and to the point. He said that he appreciated me giving him a shot at making a deal, and he wasn’t going to waste his time or mine. He quickly went to his manager, and they substantially increased the offer for our trade-in. We were still a ways from what I needed to get for it. I proposed meeting in the middle to seal a deal, and within two minutes, he came back accepting the offer. I never expected something like this. It was very apparent that Chris and Dave meant what they said, that they would do their very best to work out a deal for us. And they did. Chris then located a car for us, and they made arrangements to get it the next day (from New Jersey). This dealership sells a lot of cars, and because of that, they are willing and able to offer good deals. I highly recommend this dealership to anyone looking to purchase Chrysler, Dodge or Jeep. Chris D. did a great job earning our business. I felt that all of us worked collectively to make this happen rather than a customer verses salespeople mentality. Thanks for working for us Chris and Dave! We are thrilled with our purchase and experience at your dealership!

I just want to take a minute out of my day to say what a great experience I had at bertera in West Springfield. Chris was so helpful he knew his product well and if there was a question he couldn't answer himself he quickly found someone who had the answer. I was impressed with the lengths Chris went to put me in this truck around my price range. I didn't think it would happen and Chris and the bertera staff proved me wrong. thank you chris and the rest of the staff from bertera in west Springfield for the wonderful stress free car buy experience.

Pleasant, Easy, Friendly Experience

We came a few hours from out of state and were instantly greeted by Justin. We were able to look at the car we desired and were offered many options that fit our budget and situation. There was never a "scary car dealership" feeling or pressure whatsoever. Even the finance department was warm and welcoming. Great experience, knowledgeable staff, friendly atmosphere. If Zero stars was an option...

This dealership quoted me a price that was ~$5,000 less than what they were ACTUALLY selling the car for. This quote was on a spec sheet with my vehicles specific VIN number and was the reference used to compare approximately 10+ other vehicles. Obviously, given their misleading price, their vehicle beat out the competition. I returned to their dealership with full intention of paying the quoted price and being on my way, only to find out they intentionally misquoted the price in an effort to get me back into their building so that they could insult me by haggling with me for LITERALLY 5+ hours. I was in town from New York and had to return to work the next day and had no vehicle. Therefore I was forced to purchase from this dealer, which I clearly resent. Their dishonesty and lack of integrity did not stop after the negotiations either. Part of the deal was that I would receive 1 free detailing. Conveniently, when I returned to use this voucher, my specific salesman no longer worked there and therefore they refused to honor the detailing. I have written the company emails since the purchase that have received no response. Frankly, 1 star is even more than I would prefer to give Bertera Jeep Dodge Ram of West Springfield and I wish I had never given them my business. Please learn from my unfortunate circumstance and buy your vehicle elsewhere.

Jeep Love

Within seconds of being in the show room we were greeted by salesman Chris D., and not in that pushy salesman kind of way. Chris was able to put us in the Jeep Wrangler Unlimited that we wanted within hours and answer any and all questions we had. The process was pretty easy and we would definitely refer friends and family to go down and see Chris!
