A Great Leasing Experience!

customer service at its worst...

Was in the market for a new subuaru crosstrek. I Negotiated a price online with the internet sales rep at Patrick Subaru and then I was asked to come in to speak with a different sales rep to test drive and sign paperwork. The purchase and sale agreement included a $400 documentation fee, which I found to be excessive. The highest I've ever seen. And for the first time in my over thirty years of buying new cars, I was told that this does not include the Massachusetts inspection sticker, and I would be responsible for going to a service station, getting it inspected myself, and paying the $35 out of my pocket. Highest doc fees around and it doesn't even include inspection? Scam. The next day, I emailed the sales rep and asked if I could add on the auto-dimming rear view mirror with homelink accessory. The cost on their website was $249, which I was willing to pay in full. the sales manager, Jeff Moberg, told me that it would actually be $280 with installation. As this is a simple plug and play device that would take less than 5 minutes to install, and the service techs would be prepping the car for delivery anyway, I asked that the installation charge be waived. Jeff emailed me back stating that I got a good enough deal and he was not going to offer any discount on accessories. I told him that I felt that I was not asking for much considering I just agreed to pay over $25k for new car, and they would still be making a profit on the accessory. He responded that if I wasn't happy, I should consider asking for a refund of my deposit and parting ways. I was shocked. Maybe he thought I wouldn’t call his bluff seeing that I already put down a deposit, was approved for the financing, and I would be picking up the car the following day. However, I took Jeff up on his offer to part ways not because of the $28 installation fee, but because when making a large purchase like this, people should feel confident that the dealer will work with them and stand by them when needed. Jeff Moberg’s attitude and behavior destroyed any such confidence in that dealership. I printed out his emails, along with the purchase and sale agreement and went to North End Subaru in Lunenburg. they had the same car with all the same features. They sold me that car for the same price and threw in the accessory for free. On top of that, their doc fees were $100 less. So I ended up getting the same car for $380 less, but more importantly was able to deal with a professional group of ADULTS who treated me with respect and class. I can’t say that I was surprised when I received a text from North End the following day asking if I could give them a copy of Jeff Moberg’s emails, so they could use it in their training on how NOT to treat their customers. I would strongly recommend staying away from Patrick Subaru and instead consider North End Subaru.

Smooth Lease Experience at Patrick Subaru

This was my first shopping experience at Patrick Subaru and my first time leasing. I have purchased multiple Subaru's over the years so I am very familiar with the quality of the vehicles. Both the sales and finance staff at Patrick Subaru made themselves available to answer my many, many questions about leasing without pressuring me to make a quick decision. Patrick Subaru was highly competitive without compromising on what I was looking for in a new Subaru. Special thanks to Ash Shaker and to Todd Stalker for all their time and patient assistance. I highly recommend shopping at Patrick Subaru and am thoroughly enjoying driving my new lease. I strongly suspect I will return to make a purchase at the end of my current lease based on my recent experience.

BEST SUBARU DEALER IN MASSACHUSETTS

I visited two other Subaru dealers before deciding to buy my new Forrester from Patrick Motors where the staff was very knowledgeable, patient, and at the end of the day offered the best price without any haggling. I drove from the Cape to buy the car and don't regret it as taking possession was easy and the staff support outstanding.

Friendly used buying experience, great car, good value

New to Subarus, but Joe Dineen helped us understand more about the brand and choose a used Forester that was a good value and had the features we were interested in. The car was fairly priced and its history was disclosed to us, and we have loved it so far. Service was great from everyone. Only comment is the warranty sales pitch when we came to pick up the car was a little aggressive, but we ended up going for parts only and have not regretted that decision. First used car buying experience, and would definitely come here again!

Great experience buying a used Forester at Patrick!

Our experience of buying a used Forester at Patrick was a good one. We got what we needed for our trade in (a Legacy GT over 11 years old) and Joe got us into a 2015 Forester after weeding out some less suitable Foresters. I appreciated Joe's honesty and willingness to go looking around for alternatives for us when we didn't find the right car at first. Everyone at Patrick is friendly. We had serviced the Legacy GT there for years (generally good) so we knew the staff to be a trustworthy bunch overall, and they seem to take a long view of things. Never once did we feel like anyone was trying to simply make a sale or rush us into a decision. They seem to genuinely want their customers happy with their purchases over the long term. The only problem I can think of was a minor one. When we were about to drive our new [used] Forester away, I noticed there was only one key with the remote buttons; the other was just a valet key. I asked if they had the other remote key and the answer was "this car only came with one key, but we'll check and see if we have a 2nd." Now, the manual says the car (when new) comes with 2 remote keys and one valet key, and that is the way I would expect a used car to be sold. If I want the 2nd key, it'll cost $$ and if I want to use the valet key I have to disable Subaru's built-in theft alarm. Is it a scam to drive used car buyers to the Parts dept. on their way out? No, I highly doubt it is, but it kind of felt that way. Again, it's a fairly minor gripe though I felt a tad cheated, but then perhaps I should've known to ask about the keys up front (I definitely will next time -- and you should, too!). Everything else about the car has been exactly as described, and Joe D. worked with us to get a price that fit into our budget requirements. The overall experience was really good!

"No Pressure" First New Car Purchase

I went with my daughter and we felt comfortable right away. Working with John from sales was a "no pressure" experience which was great for my daughter's first new vehicle purchase (an Impreza). This was not the case at the other dealerships we visited. A great experience all around from sales, the vehicle itself, price, vehicle delivery and the service we received during the entire purchasing experience. Kudos to John and the team at Patrick. Jeff.

I recently purchased a Subaru Outback from Patrick Subaru in Shrewsbury. Before going there, I went to all the local Subaru dealers and found them difficult to work with, full of smarmy salespeople and ultimately had my time wasted when they didn't have the car I was looking for in stock and weren't willing to work with me on my trade. After a few online exchanges, it was clear that Patrick Subaru would offer a better experience. Before even going to the dealer, they evaluated my trade and sent me pictures of the car I was looking for. I purchased the car on a busy Saturday with my dog, Winnie, in tow. Everyone a the dealer made me feel welcome, valued my time and were incredibly sweet with my dog. Not 90 minutes after walking in the door, I had signed the paperwork for my new Subaru Outback and trade feeling great about the deal I got and without any stress whatsoever. I picked up my car two days later, and they had put in my all weather mats (it had just snowed) and spend time walking through all the features of the vehicle with me. I couldn't be happier with my new car or my experience with Al and all the great people at Patrick Subaru in Shrewsbury! I've bought a lot of cars over the years, but no dealership has ever been this easy to work with OR nice. If you want to shop with friendly people who care while enjoying a hassle-free buying experience, don't waste your time with any other dealer! And be sure to tell Al I say hi! He was the best

A magical experience!

The lease on my 2013 Subaru Crosstrek was ending, so I started shopping around for a new one. I returned to my original dealer first, but was not able to get to a price at all close to what I was looking for. That night, I gave a call over to Patrick Subaru on the recommendation of a friend ... and I am so glad that I did! Tri answered the phone and we chatted about my experience. I was exact in what I was looking for and what it would take to get me into a new lease on a 2016 Crosstrek. He took down some information and said that he would call me back promptly after checking into some things. Tri contacted me about a half hour later was some pretty impressive numbers, well-exceeding my expectations! It didn't take me long to decide that Patrick Subaru was the dealership for me! The one issue is that I am not local to Shrewsbury. This did not pose a problem, though, as we were able to negotiate the entire deal over the phone, including approximating the value of my trade-in and upgrading all the speakers in the car. The following day, Al called me to continue the sales process. We had a good chat and I could tell that Al was passionate about the vehicle. We arranged a time that worked around my schedule to complete the sale. I arrived at Patrick Subaru a couple of days later, by which time Al had already had the speakers upgraded, the vehicle detailed and ready for me, and all insurance paperwork done. I spent a couple of hours at the dealership, mostly going over the new features in the vehicle. Patrick Subaru exceeded my expectations for any dealership. I highly recommend checking them out, even if they are not local to you. I don't doubt that every member of their team is as excellent as Tri and Al! Their knowledge the product, commitment to customers, and welcoming demeanor can only be compared to an experience at Disney World -- truly magical! Thanks, guys! I can't wait to return for my next Subaru.

My first experience with Patrick Subaru will keep me as a returning customer. Clean, uncluttered facilities, easy-going sales staff led to the best car buying experience I've ever had. Everything was explained in detail, all questions answered and no repeatedly running to the sales manager to check on my offer. I am happy with the vehicle and the trade I received for my old car. This was by far the easiest new car purchase I have been through. Try them!!

Luke is the best

Just picked up my new WRX limited and I can't say enough good things about the dealership. Most notable are Luke Latham and Jason Patrick. Jason made the numbers easy and Luke handled the rest. Could Not be more pleased.

After 14 years of excellent experiences with Honda, I found myself at Patrick Subaru. Sales Manager Steve Rivo gave me the grand tour and introduced me to the Outback. I was immediately impressed although at this point, was not sure we were ready to buy a new car. Three or four weeks later I informed Steve I would be returning with my wife as she would be the primary driver. Upon arrival, Steve introduced us to Joe Dineen who walked us through the Outback inside, outside, under the hood and then for a test drive. Joe answered all our questions about options, financing and availability. Joe was knowledgeable, professional and patient. We were sold, literally! I picked up our Subaru today. The handover was as thorough as I have experienced. Joe could not have been more engaged and enthusiastic if he were the one buying the car. He clearly believes in his product and loves selling Subaru's. A great buying experience; highly recommended.

I found myself suddenly needing a new car when my car was totaled. I had been considering a Subaru for my next vehicle, and the staff at Patrick Subaru made it an easy choice. Their customer service is top notch. Al was very friendly and professional and made the sales process easy. Rob was helpful with the financing and explained all options to me without being pushy. I would absolutely recommend this dealership and will use them again in the future if the need arises.

Good Initial Experience

But after owning the car for less than a year, I've already had to put about $4,000 into it. Blown hoses, leaking gaskets, rattlings and strange smells. Good people. But watch for lemons on the lot.

Easiest most enjoyable car buying experience ever!

I walked into Patrick Motors with the intention of purchasing a used car to replace one that was recently totaled, and was immediately greeted by Phil Sheridan. His friendly, upbeat and no-pressure demeanor really put me at ease, as I was pretty nervous about replacing my car and dealing with yet another car salesman (I’ve purchased few cars before and every time I’ve always felt that I was getting cheated in some way) - however, with Phil I really felt that I was getting a great deal and none of the run-around I’d previously experienced from other dealerships. I had my eye on a couple of used Foresters on the lot, and Phil helped me pick the one that best suited my needs and finances. He was very attentive and patient as I got all my paperwork together and throughout the financing approval process, and once approved he basically got everything ready for me so all I had to do was come and get my “new” car! Which I absolutely love, by the way… especially since the whole process of getting it was so easy! I would definitely recommend Phil Sheridan and Patrick Motors to anyone who is looking for a new or used Subaru!

New Impreza Sport

Excellent experience! I wrote my own deal before I went to Patrick Subaru. I have over 40 years experience in this field. The first price quote that I received was with a much better discount than I expected. I asked for more money for my trade, knowing the value of it (A 2010 Impreza). The salesman returned with the number that I wanted. The deal was done. My Wife and I were in at 2 PM out at 5PM with a brand new Impreza. The 2014 Subaru Impreza is an impressive improvement over the 2010 and it was a great car.
