Service

by CaraB on 03/06/2018

Angela was very kind and efficient. She went out of her way to anticipate my needs, and her desire to help was genuine. She was able to arrange for expedited service due to inclement weather. I left feeling well taken care of, and have told several people about this positive experience.

James Clanton

by Mike on 02/21/2018

James Clanton is very knoligble in the art of selling cars. If there is a way of saving money he knows it. He was very helpful in solving a problem with getting my lease vehicle registered. I recommend looking for James when your ready to buy or lease a vehicle.

Great experience!

by Lynn on 01/14/2018

I had an appointment to test drive an Accent, I was very nervous until I met my sales person Obi. He made me feel very comfortable about the process from beginning to end. Obi asked questions to see what I wanted in a car and what I expected for financing and he delivered everything I asked. To be honest I was a little surprised at how quick and smooth the process went. It only took about 2 hours from beginning to end and I am now a proud Elantra owner. Thank you Obi for everything and thank you First Hyundai!

We drove from CT and glad we did, they were upfront with pricing so we didn't have to waste anytime haggling...the building was clean and plenty of cars in stock.

Hook and lure

by Suewasscammed on 12/01/2017

First for life program is a scam. Bought new with dry rotted tires and they were gross enough at the scumbag dealership to replace my tires with tires that had plugs! Do yourself a favor and stay away from this grotesque franchise they will BS you the entire way and you’ll meet some of the rudest people You’ve ever encountered.

Profanity laced chewing out my manager

by DarrenThurman on 09/09/2017

I have been looking ay buying a used Santa Fe from First Hyundai for about a week, I went today with my 13 year old son to the dealership and met with John (salesman) to test drive a car I found online that I would like to buy. We drove it and everything was great, we sat down with John to discuss the deal and he went and got his "best price" from the manager, he returned with about $600 in processing fees on top of the advertised price, taxes and tile. I said I was not interested in paying the fees and they would need to be removed if they wanted to sell me a car. Th sales man too the offer to the manager at the raised desk. The manager who I learned is the "boss" proceeded to berate the salesman with a profanity based chewing out that was loud enough for us all to hear it, he was abusive and insulting telling the salesman that "if he brought him any more of the [non-permissible content removed] he would [non-permissible content removed] fire him and told him to tell the customer to go [non-permissible content removed] buy a car from a different dealer he had a tantrum and got up and stormed off outside to have a cigarette. All of this in front of my 13 year old son and so loud that everyone in the office could hear his response. needless to say I will not be buying a car from them and will do everything I can to let people know what a unprofessional and nasty place this is to buy a car. If I could give zero stars I would. I was cussed out for offering $600 less on a car that was $27,000. I felt bad for the salesman who was a great guy. I have service scheduled with this dealer that I will also be cancelling.

First for Life Rewards .... Last for Customer Service

by Libra1007 on 08/19/2017

After reading others reviews of First Hyundai I decided this was a good place to further my car buying research. I found a vehicle that I liked online and went in for the test drive, et al. I was greeted at the door by a salesman. Well, greeted isn't the correct word. He just happened to be standing there waiting for the next sucker, but proceeded to talk on his phone as we walked through the lobby. It wasn't until we got to the other side that leads to the car lot that he deigned to put the phone to his side and give me his name (James). My entire four hour experience was much the same. At no time did I receive his undivided attention. I was left on my own to test drive the car (which I did prefer), but having little knowledge of modern vehicles I could have used some guidance/education. Case in point, I did not know how to use an electronic ignition. He also refused to present any of my offers to his sales manager. James was definitely a salesperson out for himself and buyer be damned. If I wasn't in the predicament I was in, I would have walked away. Unfortunately, I knew I wasn't leaving the dealership without a car because of my circumstances. I found myself stuck between a rock and a hard place. I received more information about the maintenance and warranty from the finance department and more about the vehicle's capability from friends. Despite First Hyundai offering First for Life Rewards there is little on the positive side that I can say.

I was petrified walking into the dealership. The last time I purchased a car was 15 years ago. (an Elantra that I drove to the ground) Obi made me feel OK about the lease and was so patient! This time I have a Tucson!

These people are FAKE and borderline [non-permissible content removed]

by chrism878 on 05/18/2017

It started with me getting a quote from KBB to sell my truck, I received an email from "Molly" saying that the manager asked her to contact me and that they wanted to take a closer look at my truck, So i called the phone number from the email and asked for Molly but the girl i was put through to said Molly was her assistant and she could help me, so i set it up to drive out there so they could take a look at the truck i was selling, when i got there they did their inspection and said they reject the truck because of rust spots... I left after that end of the story for that day... The next day i get another email from "Molly" saying " There is a customer that may be interested in your Vehicle and I wanted to make sure we connect." Signed with a phone number again... So I call the number and asked for Molly once again and the girl i was connected to said Molly is her assistant but she could help me, I figured since "Molly" is emailing me and contacting me i should talk to her.... after i insisted i spoke with Molly she tells me Molly is a computer program!!! At this point i felt lied to, more than once... So a few questions that never got answered... 1. WHY SIGN THE EMAIL AS A PERSON and not state anywhere in the email that its a computer program sending me email and not someone from there named Molly?? 2. When I called in TWICE asking for Molly why was i told Molly is an assistant but i could be helped by the girl who answered the phone? If these people cover up stuff that dont even matter like emails and fake employees named Molly, I hate to see the stuff they hide about the cars they sell.... but based on the other reviews i read here they do hide stuff and cover up truth... I guess i am not important enough to know Molly is not really a person..... What do they say "Just tell them Molly is an assistant, they are dumb customers, they dont know any better" WELL LISTEN UP! AS I SAID ON THE PHONE WITH CHOICE WORDS I FEEL LIED TO! Please take this as a warning of how shady these people are....

Great experiencec

by Shashi on 05/12/2017

This was my first experience with First Hyundai. I went there with my wife to look for a pre-owned vehicle. I was apprehensive at first not knowing anyone at the dealer. We were greeted by David Sacco, who made us feel comfortable at the showroom and he showed us around and guided us through the available cars. He pulled out the car I was looking for and he was very informative about the vehicle. He explained every feature and function of the vehicle right from the engine to the exhaust. He was very precise about every intricate detail. We then went for a test drive which was again impressive. He guided us on the highway, around the curvy and the bumpy roads where we can explore the performance of the car. He was outstanding. No slick sales gimmicks, no pressure, no attempts at manipulative ploys. Just great accommodating service. I got a great deal on a new car and I ended up buying a new one and we are very happy about it. The paperwork too was hassle free. He also was very helpful and informative about how to take care of the vehicle and also registered me to the bluelink. Positive vibes and energy throughout, you seldom will find an enthusiastic person who would make your car buying experience pleasant. I must say that this is my first car and it was indeed a best car shopping experience ever. We will be coming to your showroom for the years ahead.

Good Experience- Know what you're doing

by bvanmass on 01/05/2013

As with "any" car dealer, if you don't know what you're doing, then you'll get taken. But with First Hyundai, they recognized that I was very aware of the "process" the "pricing" and the "close". So they didn't try to hide things. We cut right to the chase....bottom line after trade and all discounts, but also including all "extras" that "everybody" pays. Once we established the ground rules (i.e. my rules), they lived up to every one and the rest of the process went smoothly. Botttom line....great deal, good sales man, tough sales manager (but that's what he's hired to do) and quick service. Drove away in my new Genesis same day.

BAIT AND SWITCH- Deceptive, Rude, and Downright Mean

by educatedmom on 08/11/2011

WARNING: BAIT AND SWITCH!!! Deceptive Business Practices!!! Stay Away!!!! A few days ago (8/2011), we were calling around to Hyundai dealerships for prices on a new Accent. We found this dealership and the Internet Sales Rep seemed great- very nice and courteous. We negotiated with him and came to a verbal agreement over the phone for us to purchase an Accent that they had on the lot. Our verbal agreement was detailed: we wrote down the purchase price, down payment required, interest rate and all applicable taxes and fees. We had a final out-the-door number and a final monthly payment number. We ran these numbers through an online calculator to verify them. We agreed to come down to the dealership in 2 hours to sign papers and pick up the car. When we arrived, the agent we'd been talking to had gone home and had lined up someone else to close the deal with us. We asked to verify the numbers with him and he gave us a higher monthly payment number than what we were quoted over the phone. We said there must be a mistake, we'd verified all the numbers and we asked to see an itemized list of the charges. Then the Finance Manager came over with that list. There were nearly $600 worth of unexplained charges with vague names on the list! We asked him what those charges were for and he became evasive and belligerent. When I insisted on knowing what those charges were for, he yelled at me, telling me to "Settle Down, Ma'am!" even though I was calm but firm. It was surreal. He kept yelling at me. He finally claimed that one of the charges was for a "window coating" that they put on all of their cars. That's bogus. The other charge he didn't even TRY to explain! He just refused to answer me. He finally agreed to take those charges off and went into the back office to print up a new list. Then he came back and said "We're not going to do this deal." He refused to sell us the car at the price we'd agreed to over the phone! So, we gathered our things to walk out. As we were leaving with our children, the Finance Manager and some other big man behind the counter sneered and verbally mocked us as we left saying "Oh yeah, nice not selling you a car today!" I was absolutely disgusted by the way we were treated. To top it all off, we'd already given them our credit card number for a $1500 down payment on the car and THEY CHARGED OUR CREDIT CARD $1500 for a car they refused to sell us!!!! I called the President of the company (who claimed to have no knowledge of the incident, ha!) and he said he'd "look into it." Every time I've called since, he's been "in a meeting." I've left voicemail and he won't return my phone calls. I've reported them to the Better Business Bureau and the FTC. I'm calling the AG next. Stay far, far away from this dealership. It's places like this that give car dealerships and salesmen such a bad rap. Horrible, absolutely disgusting.

rude salesman and whole staff

by nitinc on 06/23/2011

very rude and inconsiderate salesman as weel as manager. I wanted to test drive Sonat since I have not driven Hyundai before. There were 6 salesman on the floor and two customer incuding myself. salesman told to purchase the car from them today then come back with appointment. I called in advance and asked whether I can test drive Sonata today. I brought it up manager and he was rude too. They just want you to buy a car. They don't want to spend a time to answer questions. Guess what, I went to dealer in Pawtucket, RI and had my test drive without any hastle and very courteous staff and they didn't ask me for the appintment. I will never recommend First Hyundai in North Attleboro.

Professional, Courteous, Family Atmosphere - Best Experience

by dawn38 on 06/22/2011

First Hyundai is absolutely wonderful! My salesman Felix was the best, he was so genuine and answered every questions I had, believe me there were a lot of them. I requested a quote on line from Edmunds and was very happy with the price. To get the monthly payment I wanted - I negotiated my trade-in value. I am so happy with them my husband went in and bought a car two weeks later, he purcahsed a used car because he liked the 2010 Elantra style better than the 2011. My husband had a few questions/issues with the car, he walked into service they hopped right in the car and took a test drive. Re-adjusted a few things and it's been great ever since. I liked them so much I brought my mother in and she purchased a Sonata two weeks later. I'm sorry other people had bad reviews, a few of them I feel they didn't ask questions, which they should have done. I definitely think looking on line through Edmunds is helpful, bring all your information with you, ask for a price quote (which will have everything spelled out) and get the trade-in value on your car. If you go to First Hyundai ask for Felix and tell him Dawn sent you! He's the best :D

Professional & Honest - Great Experience!

by lynb63 on 04/26/2010

After reading many of the poor reviews of First Hyundai they were the next to last dealer we visited after nearly a month of searching for a car. I finally agreed but was very reluctant and had my mind set there was no way we were buying a car that day - after all there were still a few days left before the rebates ended and there was one more dealer I wanted to visit that was closer to work. Ghulam was our sales rep and I almost felt bad as the words we had practiced and agreed on as we drove there came out of my mouth "not buying today, one more dealer to go to...etc." - He smiled and understood yet rather than resort to high pressure sales or move on to another customer assuming he was wasting his time, he was patient, honestly answered all of our questions and provided expert advise when I could not make up my mind between two models. We each bought a car that day and they were more than fair on price and trade-in value. We broke the pact we made on the way and do not regret it at all. We had done our homework, knew our pricing and everyone we came in contact with was wonderful to work with. As I picked up my car this evening I shared the story of my resistance to go there and felt a sense of shame that I let other negative reviews impact me. As we stood outside talking, I knew that First Hyundai and Ghulam had not seen the last of us! Thank you to all.

Go Anywhere Else

by helloitsme on 12/06/2009

Very disappointing experience. Their ad for a car in Autotrader said $14k. On cars.com the same vehicle is listed at $15K. When we get to the dealership, and they look at a trade, the numbers changed faster than a slot machine. Beware of their pricing tactics, and know your numbers or you will be at a severe disadvantage. Their numbers they throw at you do not agree with anything you can come up with with Kelly or NADA. They rate a car that a reputable dealer rated excellent as only fair to lowball the trade in value, thousands less than the book trade in averages. Then they pull some ridiculous "Kelly" number for their car that is somehow thousands higher than anything you can try to come up with. Kelly had 15.5 as the retail value., they had 19K. When I pull out the magazine ad, it was then they state that the 14K is with a 2,000 trade in allowance, the car price is really 16K. With so many numbers, you might as well use a dart board. A total lack of credibility should make you extremely wary. Oh, and we got a better optioned car, same year and miles, for $14,200 , from a great dealership. Shop around!

Bait & Switch Game they play

by shermansip on 12/02/2009

I went to First Hyundai to purchase a Hyundai Elantra. The first time I was quoted a price, decided to leave and shop around. I received a call a few days later to go back into the dealership. The second time I was quoted $795.00 less then the first price, then I was told "no way we can sell you this car and lose $3400.00 on it," once again I left. Well guess what the last day of the month, I received another call from the sales manager (Sam) saying he has great news for me. I made the mistake of returning his call. After haggling all day on the telephone we agreed on a price which was to include the doc fees, registration, title, sales tax. Sam still did not know how much the bank fee would be, "it could be $40, $60, or $70, but do not worry, I'll wait til midnight to close the deal if I have to, I'll have everything written up." I arrived at the dealership feeling emotionally drained and knew what was coming. Needless to say the salesmen did not have everything written up and when I asked about the taxes he looked a bit confused. I did know the figures and decided to get up and leave once again, 3 strikes they're out!!! I am very grateful to everyone that wrote the reviews, Thank You, I just feel sorry you got taken advantage of. To any future customers I say Run away as fast as you can and do not turn back. Happy Holidays

worst experience ever

by sue58 on 08/22/2009

I walked into the dealership knowing my credit wasn't the best and was taken advantage of because of that. I did purchase a car and signed a contract which had many additinal fees. I was even charged one fee they called a bank fee, but once I questioned it they called it an acquisition fee. Please, be careful ...I felt pressured which led me to feel desperate because of my credit history. I am going to go seek legal counsel because they have no right taking advantage of people like this. I read alll these complaints and I ask myself....why are they getting away with all these scams !!!!

Sneaky sneaky, watch yourself

by crissy699 on 06/21/2009

So basically I have to tell everyone to be very careful of everything when you choose to business with this dealership. I never reached the point of purchase, so I cant advise on any of those parts of the sale, but we felt "duped" enough to take the time to write this review. My husband and I went out to look at small SUV's to replace our old wagon and took a ride up Rte 1 in North Attleboro. We decided to pull into First Hyndai to look at the Sante Fe, Tucson and a few other mixed brand used SUV's/crossovers that they had on the lot. We walked the lot and didnt really see much, but noticed the price tag on a Mitsubishi Endeavor, we had never considered this vehicle, but the price tag of $15,900 caught our eye. We explained to the salesman that we wanted to stay under $15k, but figured we would take a look and then when we saw the mileage, we were very interested in the car. The salesman just kept telling us how great the car was, so we were pretty excited, Well, we didnt know ANYTHING about the car, so we said we would go home and research a little then if all looks good, we would come back. When we got home, we looked into the car, were still interested so I pulled up the dealership's website to take a look at the car again before making a plan to go back and see it...well, I see on their website an asterisk next to the price listing that says "Price reflects $3500 cash or trade" !! Well, then that $15,900 price tag was really $19,400..a price we would have NEVER paid, nevermind for a car we werent even considering. I cant beleive the salesman didnt think it important to mention this large price difference! He knew we wouldnt consider it. Why did he waste our time? That was really a shady, sneaky thing to do. They've lost our business for good, even if they had the perfect car for us!
