by Clbutler84 on 04/07/2017

Our salesman was Phil Leydecker and we couldn't have asked for a better experience with buying my first be and new car. He was great! I didn't think I was able to even but a car let alone a brand new one and he got me into one! So Thank You Phil and the Jones Kia Team!!!!

Exceeded My Expectations

by soccermom38 on 09/14/2016

When I arrived to the dealership I was greeted in a friendly, informative and non-pushy manner by the helpful staff. Very surprised! The general management team Rovall Washington, and Rob Jones were very professional and made sure I could afford my monthly payments. The Jones for a Lifetime Warranty with every vehicle is unbeatable, I am very happy with my purchase and guaranteed follow up service.

Bad Business Practices/Service

by SBELLESR on 08/01/2016

First, I had to sit down to think and level a fair judgment before writing this experience with Jones KIA. 6/9/16 - Purchased a used 2010 Hyundai Accent. To their credit, they managed to work out a 'so called' deal. The dealer Jeff Kessler told me that they worked out a 60 month payment plan for the amount I requested but once I sat with the financial person Valerie stated that the contract is for 72 months. She stated that she had a lot to do and she would be rushing through completing my contract. Unaware that Valerie really didn't care for me as a valued customer, she rushed through the signing of papers. When it got to the warranty document she said that I really didn't need to have one because of the mileage(82,432) and the good condition of the car which I though was running well during my test drive. She was quick to add onto my contract some junk coverage called Dr. Jones for dinks and scratches insurance although it was not needed. Before leaving the dealership, I requested a remote for the car since they didn't have one. Jeff said he would have one the next day and that I could bring the car in to have one of the techs to program it. I came back the next and wasted 3 working hours only to be told by the service department that Jeff never ordered as promised. I finally reached Jeff after 11 calls to his phone and the dealership to inquire what happened. His excuse was that he got into work late and that the remote would be available in 7 days. 6/17/16 - While being patient, I figured I'd call Jeff to get status on remote, I brought the car in for programming only to be told that the tech couldn't program it and to his credit he gave me a free rental for a couple of days while they had my car. 6/24/16 - Called Jeff again after 7 calls this time and he finally told me that the so-called tech again had trouble programming the remote, imagine that! Great technicians huh! So I immediately returned the rental and took my car. The next day, I went to my trusted key tech dealer in Owings Mills and guess what! He programmed a new remote for my car in less than 20 minutes. To KIA's credit, they payed ONLY for the price of the remote I got and refilled my car with 2 gallons of gas. 7/28/16 - Now the REAL BAD NEWS - Car started sputtering and the CHECK ENGINE light appeared as I was driving through 895 Tunnel, freaked me out and prayed that I'd get home safely without a accident. 7/29/16 - Called Jones KIA to get assistance and was turned over to Jeff Kessler again. He stated that I should get the car into service immediately so I managed to get the car there to service by the afternoon. I tried desperately to get Jones KIA to help me with the issue only for them to tell me that the repair cost would fully be my responsibility since during the signing I rejected the warranty that they wanted over $3,000 for. I asked to speak to Jeff but they sent some other guy who claimed to be the manager (Afro American like me) to lie and tell me that because I refused to accept a high priced warranty that could not get any assistance or help from them since the problem happened 49 days after purchase. To their credit they got me a ride home in the shuttle while awaiting the verdict on the repairs. While I was there, Jeff was in conversation with the manager and a couple of other folks laughing. He totally ignored me the entire time while he saw me standing at the information desk with Candice waiting. I finally got a call 2 hours later. The woman from the service department stated that one ignition coil had to be replaced. I asked if this would be it, she said that she didn't know but was quick to tell me that it would cost me $270.00. I was furious to say the least and gave permission to do the work. I then got another call 1 hour later from this woman to tell me that ALL 3 remaining ignition coils and spark plugs had to be replaced. I informed her and the tech at that time that according to the service record I have it states that an ignition coil was replaced on 3/31/16(2 months before selling me the car). Their explanation was that they only did enough to get the car to simply 'drive' via MD State Inspection. She again was quick to tell me this time that the cost is now $485.00 plus tax!!!!! I agreed to have the work done bearing that I really didn't have a choice if I wanted my car back. 7/30/16(8:43 a.m.) - I called KIA Service and inquired about the status of the repair. They told me it was finally ready and that I could come pick it up. I requested a shuttle to pick me up only to be told this time that a shuttle might not be available until after 4:30 p.m. that day, so I had to catch a ride to get there. When I arrived, I found Candice, she was the ONLY bright part of my entire experience at Jones KIA and tried to get Jeff Kessler on every occasion but on this occasion he stopped by and I confronted him on his failure to talk to me the other day when I dropped it off. He stated that the so-called manager told him to not see me and that he would speak to me. Let’s put it this way, Jones Junction IS the WORST place to get a used car because they publicize that EVERY NEW and USED CAR has JONES FOR A LIFETIME. Read the fine print because any car you buy from there has to be 80,000 miles or less to be eligible. So much for public advertisements and commercials. I would be happy to delete this review ONLY if Jones KIA or Jones Junction makes this situation right. I don’t want YOU to make the same mistake I made.

DONT TRUST THEM. They dont respect the Price Promise

by alfredo8 on 01/31/2015

DONT TRUST THEM. Got an offer from them at Edmunds, with a good Price Promise. But when making the deal, they started to invent that some of the discounts were only if I was a veteran, or colleague graduate, etc. So the brought the discoount from a 7 thousand to a 2 thousand. The offer from edmunds explicitly stated that the Price Promise was without considering this discounts they then invented. It even stated bellow the price promise, that there could be extra discccounts for Veterans, colleague graduate, etc... So they only do an interesting promise online and then dont respect it. When tried to contact the manager, they didnt let me talk to him. I think what they are doing is ilegal and the offer I got by mail should be a binding promise, but just dont have the time to deal with [non-permissible content removed].

Poor service on finance side

by tdw26 on 09/29/2014

I was looking at a a 2015 Kia Optima and was trading in a car with negative equity, but I knew about what the negative should be. Expressed desired monthly payment. Was given three options that were upwards of 100's of $$ per month higher even with thousands of dollars down, but was never given trade in value. Finance person tried to talk me into a year older car, different color and still a payment higher then requested. Felt like a scam from the start with him. Tried to strong arm me into buying the different car then got up and walked away in huff when he couldn't talk me into it. Never even thinking of buying a car from them again. Even tried to act like he remembered me from my last purchase, funny he just spat out what I had told the sales person. Trade in was never looked at buy anyone other then the salesperson, pretty sure credit was never actually run. Estimates were all made off of assumptions.

BEWARE

by bulldog0760 on 12/21/2013

Jones for a lifetime is a joke. I have it on another vehicle but it was not a $500 add on. This time they want to make it a line item in the deal. It comes with the vehicle. Plus the sticker was 15500 +/- there was a "AMV" added on the window $2000. Nothing added to the vehicle just $2000. Web site does not give a price, just a "starting from" $13600. I looked at a base model and the $13600 starting from was really about $17500 starting from. They were above board about wanting to charge for it but it is a typical bait and switch. Not trustworthy. Beware, Beware, Beware.

pleasantly surprise!!

by DaveVander on 07/11/2013

I went to several dealers looking at different makes and models. I drove the Optima SX and this is really a great car to drive and own. These salesman and managers worked hard making a deal. I got more for my trade in then I was expecting. Found me some extra cash down because I am a Vet! I suggest talking with these guys before making a final decision!

by alyson2 on 06/20/2013

I purchased a used car from Jones Kia and couldn't be happier. The car had some things that needed to be fixed when I bought it and they sales manager , Hugh Hanley has went over and beyond to keep me happy . I have had a loaner car at no charge to me and everything they said they were going to do they have done. I will be back in the future to get my daughter a car. Thank you Jones Kia

Horrible [non-permissible content removed]

by jetdoc3037 on 03/20/2013

Was going to buy a Kia from Jones. Went in, found out their pricing was a scam to get you in. They take 3500 off of the MARKUP of MSRP. Just a feeling of a sleazy place...service seemed even worse. Stay away.

KEVIN ROCKS!

by anniesjunk on 01/13/2011

I was very hesitant about contacting this dealership after reading all the negative reviews on the web. However, I was surfing around on Edmunds (while I was home sick) and came across THE car. This is the car I wanted to buy over a year ago during the “Cash for Clunkers” frenzy and couldn’t get my hands on. I called dealers all over the area, including PA and DE to no avail. Recently, I had resigned myself to the fact that if I still wanted one, I’d have to settle for a 2011. But there it was! Contacting them via email couldn’t hurt, could it? Maybe I’ll be surprised. Or we’ll play a little cat and mouse and then I’ll disappear behind one of my fake email addresses. So I hit the button on the website and get a response back right away from Kevin Rawls. One phone call and a few emails back and forth over the next 2 days and we had a deal. Now, was I going to take a chance and drive 60 miles from Kent Island and be given the runaround like some others had reported? I told my husband on the way up that if they started “screwing” with me, we were out of there, pronto, and it would just be considered a trip to IKEA (which we needed to do, anyway). My instinct told me this was my moment and that Kevin was the guy….I was meant to see this car on Edmunds. I was meant to get this car. We pull up. There IT was. Gleaming clean and white. We go inside. We ask for Kevin. We get the keys to demo it and take off. He tells us to take our time because the paperwork will take a while. I fall in love with it as I’m driving around but we’re not there yet….I’m still skeptical…this is too good to be true. We come back and I sign a few things. I meet with the credit guy, sign my papers, get my tags and we’re on our way. I had done my homework on Edmunds. I knew what I wanted. I knew the pricing. I wasn’t interested in killing someone to get the best deal on earth. I just wanted a good deal and to deal with someone of integrity and professionalism. And I got all of that….and more. I got a deal about $1,000 better than a year ago (it just wasn’t meant to happen then). Kevin Rawls rocks!! He honors his word. He doesn’t waste my time. He gets it done. If you are wary of contacting this dealership, I don’t blame you. But if you contact Kevin, I can assure you, you will not be disappointed……he is a professional in every sense of the word. I am VERY particular….I expect excellence. I write “CEO letters” of complaints and commendations (always go to the top). I write plenty of online reviews about everything. In short, I’m probably a car salesperson’s worst nightmare. Now, you say….it couldn’t have been that PERFECT……well, yes, you are correct. The website price was somewhat misleading (a common complaint of others) and I made my unhappiness about that known. During the financing “meeting”, they really try hard to sell you the extended warranty. Again, I knew what I wanted. I knew what was right for me. If it wasn’t for Kevin, I would have given a lesser rating to the dealership for these things. But because he was so AWESOME, this transaction deserves the best rating.

Deceptive Pricing

by family_guy on 03/15/2010

If you're wondering why their internet prices seem too good to be true, it's because it's not true. Their salesman claimed that "everyone" uses their internet pricing scheme of graying out their "disclaimer" that their price is after $3000 cash or trade! Really? Is that why their's is the only listing on-line that floats to the top when you sort by price and is at the same price tier as the lower equipped models? So they allegedly let the out-of-state people know before making a long trip to the dealership about their obscure "disclaimer"... It was a over a 3 hour round trip just to get to and from their dealership!! And for what? To be bait-and-switched on the price! Said "disclaimer" does not appear in the on-line car sales aggregator. Fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice shame on me. Please stop calling, and I will let at least 8-12 people know about my unsavory experience, and how not only myself, but my wife, daughter and father fell victim to their pricing scheme.

will never deal with these people again

by bschools1 on 01/29/2010

This dealership is a [violative content deleted]. They are [violative content deleted] and don't care about their customers. They told my dad and I that gap insurance would be included in the deal. When I realized that I didn't have gap I called them and tried to fix it, but they all must have fell and hit their heads or something because none of them remember telling us this. Now if something happens and my car gets totaled i'm SOL and theres nothing I can do about it beacause supposably gap insurance is something you have to get at the time of signing. I would not recommend dealing with these people.
