I went in after seeing an add in the paper for a 08 dodge supercab with v8 for $15999 in the American Press paper. When i got there I found out the truck was used and had 29000 miles on it( the ad let you believe it was brand new and was one left over from previous year they had to move to make room for the 09's.) Even for a truck with 30000 miles on it, it was in good shape with just a few scratches and dents on the body. The inside was clean. So i decided what the heck, I would go ahead and get it. Well my first salesman was helpful but he had to leave after about an hour and a half into the deal for a doctor's appt. The new guy was a lot more aggressive with trying to put the heat on me. Tax, title and liscense on the truck i was looking at was $17,500.00. I figured this was a pretty good price cause i was looking for a truck note between $350 and $400 a month. I cant see the point in paying$500 or $600 a month on a vehicle. Any way, The best deal they could make me was $2000.00 dollars down and $436.00 a month without the gap insurance. With the gap it would have been $460.00 a month. They wanted me to finance the truck for 72 months. I pulled my cell phone out and run the numbers. $436 @72 month's is $31,392.00 total price. With the $2000.00 down also it was$33,392.00. They would have made a profit of $15,892.00. I understand they out to make a living like everyone else but this seems kind of excessive. I was looking to buy a truck, not pay off his house. Needless to say the deal didnt go through. They called me four times while i was on my way back home. I dont think im going to deal with these people anymore regardless of whether they are a five star facility or not. I had better service from [another dealership]. They honestly treated me with respect and didnt try to price gouge me like Mark Dodge.
